Can we show our support for Jenni? I think she will be in for a kicking tomorrow

Thanks Jenni, for your bravery in speaking the truth

Ah, but he's just retweeted, he hasn't actually expressed an opinion .

BakeOffBiscuits · 12/03/2017 11:53

Good fir Jeremy Vine, the more employees of the BBC who put their head above the parapet, the better.

Bambambini · 12/03/2017 13:50

Maybe Caroline Flint doesn't want to open herself up to this attention. Did the poster pushing this actually clear it with Flint first?

Of course it didn't need "clearing"

She / they can say no. But you needed to see if the interest was there first.

Littlepiglittlepig3letmeIN · 12/03/2017 14:41

I'm Jenni Murray too.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 12/03/2017 14:55

Like Semaphorically, I received a fairly rapid response to my first complaint to the BBC for them warning Jenni Murray, and have heard nothing several days later about my follow up complaint and my complaint about Libby Purves' contrasting piece. Funny that.

Littlepiglittlepig3letmeIN · 12/03/2017 15:03

Someone raised a good point on Twitter: Gary Linekar didn't get a warning when he spoke up for refugees, so why is Jenni getting one?

Yes very good point.
Seems women, especially older women are easy pickings.

Littlepiglittlepig3letmeIN · 12/03/2017 15:26

Have only really become aware of this recently with the no platforming of Germaine Greer and Jenni Murray's comments and the whole thing has me appalled. The thing that strikes me most about trans activism is how male and misogynistic it is

I know, the irony of it!
The fact they're trying to shut women up and no platform them shows that they are still very much in possession of their male characteristics.

RonaldMcDonald · 12/03/2017 15:57

Admin notice: if you do not accept that trans women are women this is not the space for you. If you are not prepared to shut up, sit up and listen when you are called out then please leave or you may be asked to leave. This does not just apply to trans women but this has been the minority which people feel they can "debate" on the most here and it is a recurring issue.

This has just been posted on the feminist group I belong to. Truly it is a shut up moment for all debate, thought or discussion for feminists.

RonaIdMcDonald You should seriously think about joining a different feminist group.
Or are they all like that? Chilling thought.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/03/2017 16:02

Ronald - clearly its not a feminist group any more.Sad

Out of interest, Which group is it?

walkingtheplank · 12/03/2017 17:19

Interesting view on Victoria Coren Mitchell article. I think I misunderstood it on first reading. Interesting that the comments have been disabled.

MercyMyJewels · 12/03/2017 17:22

The Guardian always disable comments on anything to do with this walking

walkingtheplank - what did VCM say?

Ollycat · 12/03/2017 18:11

Thank you - just quickly read and can't quite make up my mind where she stands ...

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 12/03/2017 18:22

I'm glad you said that, Olly. I found VCM's article unclear too.

Ollycat · 12/03/2017 18:32

It's 1984 in real life complete with the thought police! I'm not clicking like on twitter in case it impacts on my job / family. It's genuinely scary!

Ollycat · 12/03/2017 18:32

Meant to post that ^ on other thread
