Does anyone want to join me?! Smile I need to lose 3 stone hopefully a stone and but in time for March if I can!

I'm already a member of ww online I have the app and just getting used to the new smart points system! Like a refresh think it will be good to do something new again!

Bought a fit bit with xmas money and had it two days love it already! It updates activity points onto the ww app though I won't be eating these.

Hopefully if anyone joins me we can motivate each other

No worries wilting - trust me, there's plenty I can't find online!

wiltingfast · 07/01/2016 17:44

Hah, I'm relieved, I know they are coming down on sugar and lets face it, fruit is full of sugar. When it wasn't pointed in the first book they gave me I was alarmed!

I eat a lot of bananas....

uppitywho · 08/01/2016 19:21

so has everyone signed in so far? Next weeks weigh in should be better than last - I have had a good week so far (although Friday wine going down nicelybut I save all my points for this) week days at work so much easier than when I am at home - prawn jalfrezi tonight - 12 points including brown rice

CharleyDavidson · 08/01/2016 20:28

I don't weigh in until Monday, but a peek at the scales today showed a 3lb loss since last Mon. That's only another half lb to go to have lost my Christmas gain. I will be delighted if I've got rid of 2 weeks of gain in the first week back.

However, I was out for lunch with a friend today. I had a steak and buttery onion ciabatta (but left the bread and therefore a lot of the butter!) which came with thick cut chips and a tbsp of coleslaw and some salad.

I've eaten a snack sized plate portion of dinner - chicken breast, cous cous and veg as a result of being so full from before. One huge advantage of counting the points is that I have def lost the ability to put away great quantities of food.

I'm still having a few couple of the Christmas chocs daily until at least Easter they are all gone as I hate waste so won't throw them away. Also, I like a little sweet something to keep me on track and not feel deprived. I count them in and just have to fight the urge to go back and have more as that's my downfall - seconds!

CharleyDavidson · 08/01/2016 20:38

I've pointed it all and I have still got a good amount of weekly points left for the weekend.

Not sure how I feel about weekly points, tbh. I was used to the original points plan where you had 22 or whatever a day and could choose to save 4 or earn up to another 4 through exercise for special occasions. That felt more 'in control' for me, which is why ww and counting suits me in the first place.

Being given a bank of points to dip into ad hoc seems less in control. You have to trust that ww have done their maths properly by allocating the right amount of weekly points to everyone.

When I've run out of dailies it makes me feel like I've failed a bit, even though there are the weekly pts there to use.

And if I do use them, it makes me wonder how I can eat so much on a higher day and still lose weight!

Either way, I'm having more luck losing weight with the smart points than I ever did with propoints, so let's hope they have got their maths right after all. :)

Marmitelover55 · 08/01/2016 20:40

Hello - please can I join too? I lost 2 stone with the original ww points 10 years ago but have put it back on and more in the last couple of years.

I went to a meeting on Monday and now have the app, which I have never had access to before - looks good.

I want to lose 2-2.5 stone and am feeling really motivated - hope I can do it.

My first official weigh in wont be until Thursday next week as I will have to go to a different meeting, but so far the scales are already looking a bit better.

Good luck everyone Grin

pippa1969 · 08/01/2016 20:53

I joined ww last sat but didn't buy new calculator as found u cd swap it but I didn't have old one to hand. Joined online for a month plan so will swap it nxt week. Went last nite & stayed same..relieved as found it hard without calculator. Still wish ww gave people choice of following pp or sp.

fireandblood · 08/01/2016 21:30

Hi everyone welcome to those just joining!

Got to admit I am liking smart points so far stricter but still nothing is off the menu. and the new app love how my fit bit links up and adds my activity points.

I am 3 points under today and will not be using my weekly points as I had to go to doctors today for pain in my side.

Told might be kidney stones after test but getting a scan in case something else. Strong painkillers making me feel less hungry and no wine.

So today I had 1 x slice of toast for breakfast , 1 packet of baked stars , dinner 5% fat oven chips, half of a half fat Tesco burger on half a roll, salad. Feeling ok just now so may have a wee treat. Not a great example

Anyone got any meal ideas for lunches or breakfasts which are low in sp.

OP posts:
uppitywho · 09/01/2016 08:57

fire hope everything goes OK with the scan - good luck

for lunches I generally go for zero points roast veg - pile of chopped veg with few sprays of oil then add something like couscous or tuna or hummus , at weekends I make a big pan of vegetable soup which comes out at a few points so I can have a moderate piece of bread
for breakfast I have mini shredded wheat with a fruit filling and pile on fresh fruit (about 6 points including milk) and at weekends my English breakfast weight watchers style is a quorn sausage with mushrooms and tomatoes fried in a spray of oil and maybe a poached or scrambled egg (about 6 or 7 points- 8 with a slice of toast) quorn products have reduced in points under smart points-
a sausage is only 1 point!!

wiltingfast · 09/01/2016 17:44

I have actually found my usual breakfast is ok, a boiled egg and a slice of toast, counting it as 6 sp.

The porridge from their first book with banana honey and vanilla is also v yummy and only 6 sp if you use skimmed milk.

fireandblood · 09/01/2016 23:14

Woops I actually meant to write lunches and dinners! I am boring Sally at breakfast and always need a carb mostly.

Thanks uppitywho feeling ok today just need to wait and see when it comes through.

How is everyone finding weekend on smart points? We ended up going to pizza express today but I gave half my pizza too my hubby. He just about collapsed!

We then went to see the snoopy movie kids had pick n mix but we grown ups just had a juice to share. This is a big achievement for me over the weekend.

Hi can I join? I joined ww (again!) on Friday. I really like the new point system. I am trying to eat more protein so it is really helping me. Finding it very user friendly and I also love that you have a leader logged on at all times on the website in case you have a question!
Has anybody tried the recipes in the Eat book? They look really good - have made the overnight oats for tomorrow

Novus · 10/01/2016 03:04

Hi all, I was doing WW for the last few months of 2015 and did quite well - I made the conscious decision not to point at all for the last three weeks and just to enjoy the holidays - which I did! - and am very happy that I've only put 1kg back on.

I'm re-starting again on Monday with another mini goal to take me up to Easter (haven't sat down and worked out what it is yet though!)

I was really happy with the new Points system as for me a high-protein, lower sugar method definitely helps lose the pounds. Going to start doing a fitness DVD Mon-Fri too which should be fun! Smile

wiltingfast · 10/01/2016 10:45

In finding dinners v tough, what is everyone else eating???

gamerwidow · 10/01/2016 13:24

I've had the following for dinner so far:
Chicken with fajita mix, peppers, onion and rice 9 sp
Sesame prawn noodles 11 sp
Chicken and tomato risotto 9 sp
Spag Bol 11 sp
Sweet and sour chicken noodles 11 sp
Spaghetti carbonara 12 sp
Today I'm blowing the budget on roast dinner

Mummyhey · 10/01/2016 15:29

Oh my god gamer widow, I thought that was just today's dinner Smile

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/01/2016 15:49

Just signed up so not to late to join? I have lots of weight to lose but would be happy with a stone by my birthday in February. So far I like the sp system, I did do the ones before pp but gave up when they came in. I have 38 so a day which seems huge and 42 extras which I tend to spend on wine.

I can recommend the breakfast frittata which I made for me and DH this morning, 5sp but I used oil instead of spray so an extra 1sp. I think I am going to make some and freeze for some breakfasts in the morning. The lady I sit next to has lost 99lbs since last March so huge inspiration.

gamerwidow · 10/01/2016 16:46

Mummyhey I think even on my worst days that would have been excessive Smile

uppitywho · 10/01/2016 17:21

anyone else having problems with getting the recipes to save ? I get some error and whilst it will calculate the points for a new recipe it doesn't save it - its really annoying as I am a creature of habit and don't want to keep working out the sodding points of things I cook - I've contacted WW and done the deleting cookies thing but no joy.

Iwouldratherbemuckingout · 10/01/2016 17:38

Hello can I join in too? I'm on the app, but not weighing myself as I have found that can lead to obsession, and I'm focussing on feeling more healthy and in control of my eating.

My biggest issue is finding low sp breakfasts I can eat on the train!

Juliecloud · 10/01/2016 18:58

Hello! I've restarted WW today. My first goal is to lose 1.5st, but ideally I'd like to lose 2-2.5st.

I am struggling to adjust to not eating so much crap! I figured today that I would cut it down but not cut it out completely. I've eaten 44 points so far!!!!! Oops. I'll not be eating any more points today. I ate 14 points of toblerone today. I'll be leaving that off the menu from now on.

poorpaws · 10/01/2016 22:13

First weigh-in today and I lost 2.75 lbs. not too bad but had hoped for more in my first week.

Good luck to everyone for this weeks weigh-in.

EskiVodkaCranberry · 10/01/2016 22:18

Hello! May I join in! I've been following ww for three weeks, will weigh tomorrow. So far I've not lost a thingShock it's gutting! First week I was confused re fit points and ate too much so maybe that contributed. Disheartening though but my friend who has just lost a lot of weight reckons you can't let the scales beat you. So will stick at it and see tomorrow.
Its great to read all your plans and recipes etc.
I'm replacing some wine wih cranberry and diet lemonade which I love

MadiSontRoy45 · 10/01/2016 23:27
