So here's the June challenge. Four weeks to lose 8lbs. I'm low carbing, but it doesn't matter what plan or diet you're following.

Who else is in?

OP posts:
justaminute · 10/06/2010 10:30

Mmmmm at the liver AK. Can I come for tea? my mum does a lovely liver casserole but dh hates the stuff so it would be a bit of a waste if i did it just for me - i think it would go a bit rubbery if I froze and reheated it.

Plan for today:
B - juice & branflakes
L - Open ham salad sandwich
D - beef curry with brown rice and a small helping of naan & mango chutney.
Snacks - grapes & satsumas.

A jaffa cake AND a chocolate passed my lips yesterday but I'm feeling focussed as I didn't eat the whole packet

AvadaKedavra · 10/06/2010 11:26

I have successfully frozen liver and onions and bacon in gravy if that's any use?

Well done on your restraint justa

DrSpechemin · 10/06/2010 12:26

Yes - well done Justa - I would have easily eaten the whole packet of jaffa cakes.

I've had to go back to bed today as feel bloody awful - and have also had two chocolate hobnobs.

justaminute · 10/06/2010 16:02

DrSpechemin! What are you doing to me? Chocolate hob nobs . I'm not sure all this talking about food is going to help me keep strong

AvadaKedavra · 10/06/2010 20:13

Been a very good girl today, even managed to resist the Magners pear cider that was being waggled in my face, gwan gwan gwan gwan you know you want one

dbm · 10/06/2010 21:24

I've been good today - managed a short gym session, several bits of fruit, big salad lunch with some wholemal bread, healthy veggie supper BUT am now craving a large glass of wine. Good job theres no biscuits in the house otherwise I think they'd be munched. Hope you're all doing well. We're a third of the way thru June. I've got 2 nights out before my weigh in day - hmm!?

dbm · 10/06/2010 21:26

Do you think a homemade cappucino, ie normal sized cup rather than super huge shop sized, is ok on a diet or too many calories?

DrSpechemin · 11/06/2010 07:34

Morning all

Yesterday was a disaster

Breakfast was fine, lunch descended into a cheese and pickle sandwich with crisps and half an eccles cake for afternoon tea. DH spent all afternoon making a lemon tart complete with full fat creme fraiche.

Dinner was fine - chicken and couscous salad. I then ate the lemon tart for pudding (not the whole one - just a serving - which was 800 cals per serving

Anyway - needless to say - I have not lost a bean - it was my weigh-in today - am determined not to lose focus though. Will go back to my weightwatchers diet and be really strick and have rice cakes for lunch and boring fish and new pots for dinner every night for the rest of the month!

Hope everyone's doing better than me

MiaWallace · 11/06/2010 07:35

I completed my degree yesterday and celebrated with a chinese take-away and bottle of wine. To be honest I didn't really enjoy either. I left most of the chinese and I'm regretting the wine.

Back to the diet today. Will be doing a hour on the spin bike and going back to minimum carbs for a few days.

8 days till I get married. Do you think I can lose 2 stone in that time?

DrSpechemin · 11/06/2010 07:40

only if you get a really horrendous D&V bug and you don't want that before your wedding.

well done on finishing your degree - what a good feeling!

giraffesCANdriveAcar · 11/06/2010 07:41

Well done Mia on degree Easily Mia...which limb are you planning on chopping off? oooh 8 days how exciting!!

I've been bad the last 2 eves

AvadaKedavra · 11/06/2010 10:15

Congratulations Mia, what's your degree in? If I lopped off my breasts I reckon I would drop 2 stone easily

B: 2 boiled eggs, 2 ryvita
L: hummous and oatcakes
D: tuna with veggie fried rice

AvadaKedavra · 11/06/2010 10:15

dbm - no idea? Maybe put it through on foodfocus.co.uk and see how it compares to say Costa/Starbucks?

AvadaKedavra · 11/06/2010 14:27

Jut as well I am stuck in the house as I am having an icecream craving.

justaminute · 11/06/2010 16:17

i hope the icecream craving passed AK.

I stunned myself by walking past the Percy Pig sweets in M&S today. I went in for the £10 dine in for 2 - I was good and picked up the chicken and salad bowl we'll ignore the profiterole stack that went in the basket but the dcs and dh will eat all most of them.

The challenge for me will be to avoid the alcohol this weekend. I'm not meant to be touching a drop for the first 2 weeks.

Must stay strong, repeat, repeat, repeat.

AvadaKedavra · 11/06/2010 16:24

I had raspberries and strawberries in natural yogurt instead very pleased with myself.

Alcohol is my downfall, especially with a blossoming social life, not quite managed to align the two

MiaWallace · 11/06/2010 17:34

arrggh I fallen off the wagon big time. Been picking at rubbish all day. Plus I've done no exercise.

Well tomorrow is another day. Need to get focused. Will go shopping in the morning and fill the fridge with healthy foods.

AvadaKedavra · 11/06/2010 20:00

Tomorrow is indeed another day Mia, a day off might even spur you on anyway

AvadaKedavra · 12/06/2010 09:27

Breakfast: berries and plain yogurt

I think today is going to be a struggle am in that kind of a mood and not having the best of times at home either I need comfort food

thereistheball · 12/06/2010 11:44

Morning all. I just went to the butcher to pick up some burgers for lunch and got sidetracked by a rotisserie chicken, so we're having that with some salad for lunch.

Mia - only a week to go! Congratulations on finishing your degree. I hope you're feeling inspired after your shop.

Aveda - alcohol is my downfall too. I'm having a rare night off tonight, and hoping I'll feel a bit more refreshed tomorrow after a good night's sleep.

DrSpechemin · 12/06/2010 12:28

Ok - I need a kick up the bum - yesterday ended up a disaster. Lunch ended up as a cheese and pickle sandwich with a packet of crisps - they were baked ones so no too bad - dinner was half a packet of kettle chips and a packets of jelly sweets washed down with vodka and lemonade!

I need to rethink about what I am eating as I think I need to start having more protein for breakfast and then back to boring rice cakes and philidelphia for lunch and a normal dinner. Today is a bit delayed as only just had breakfast (berries and yoghury) and won't eat til later tonight if dh makes it back from work on time - will probably just have an apple or something for lunch.

Dinner is new pots and baked sea bass from last months observer food monthly - mmm

AvadaKedavra · 12/06/2010 19:48

Evening all,

Anyone about or have you all got the beers and barbies out and watching the footie?

L: scrambled egg, tomato, mushroom, onions, grilled bacon
D: Mexican rice

Having a small bar of 85% choc as a treat it's horrible though!

AvadaKedavra · 13/06/2010 14:19

B: strawberries, ham on ryvita
L: lamb steak, sweet potato mash, green veggies
D: 2 boiled eggs, ryvita

DrSpechemin · 13/06/2010 15:45

right - how many calories in an hours ironing? surely enough to warrant me finishing off a packet of dd's sweets!!

L: prawn & low fat mayo sandwich, lemon tart
D: Roast chicken, pots, brocolli and beans.

Tomorrow is a new week - no loss this week, in fact I think this thread is making me obsess about food - I can't stop thinking about eating.

AvadaKedavra · 13/06/2010 16:02

oh dear Doc, that's not good then? Maybe stay away next week and see if it helps any?
