So here's the June challenge. Four weeks to lose 8lbs. I'm low carbing, but it doesn't matter what plan or diet you're following.

Who else is in?

DrSpechemin · 08/06/2010 10:17

Morning all.

So far so good today. Even managed to not drink last night.

I hopped on the scales this morning and didn't notice any difference - am determined not to demotivate myself.

My weigh-in day is friday - my weight fluctuates between 2-4 lbs throughout the course of a week anyway so it'll take a while to notice any real difference I think.

Plan today is as follows:

B: Berries and greek yoghurt
L: Prawn salad and pitta brean
D: lamb curry - it's homemade though and only a teeny bit of oil - small portion of rice and am determined not to have any chapati!

Good luck today everyone

AvadaKedavra · 08/06/2010 10:51

Morning all,

here's to a 100% day for us all

I was very good yesterday, I went to softplay and totally resisted all the frothy coffee and cupcakes and bacon sandwiches, I sat there virtuously sipping at my bottle of water and nibbling at my apple

I am away into town shortly and planning on meeting a friend for lunch, I was thinkiing subway would be good, get a salad bowl [classy]

So todays plan is:

B: ryvitas and ham
L: salad and cold meats
D: spinach, pea and onion frittata with baked sweet potato

FluffyDonkey · 08/06/2010 13:53

Avada - think I'm going to ruin your 100% day!

Had steak and about 10 chips at lunchtime....followed by a banana split

No cream with it, but still, shouldn't have done it.

Weight is stable, so it's hard to keep the motivation up. I've reduced all the chocolate, crisps, etc. that I was eating but no difference yet.

Mia - not too nervous about the wedding. Mainly because we have many friends who delight in being the centre of attention, so I'm thinking I can hide in the shadows a bit

DrSpechemin · 08/06/2010 14:45

mmmmm steak and chips - was it delicious?

when's your wedding fluffydonkey?

FluffyDonkey · 08/06/2010 15:20

The steak was quite nice but (fortunately) the chips weren't great, hence me leaving half of them!

Wedding is July 3rd. Started to panic diet once I tried my dress on (last week) and my bust was ahem, busting out of the dress! (hence being attracted to this thread...)

However, I have since bought a different bra and tried the dress again and am not busting out anymore (first one was padded and uplifting, second was normal), but will still try to lose a bit of weight anyway.

AvadaKedavra · 08/06/2010 16:03

FluffyDonkey, not suprised you plurged a little today, you didn't have much yesterday at all maybe you need a plan to stick to to help?

LemonDifficult · 08/06/2010 16:39

AK, I think I'm going to let you down on the 100% day too:

Breakfast - Special K
Lunch - steamed brown rice with salad
Snack - organics spicy tomato stars
and a WW yogurt

but.....

Tonight we're going out to dinner, swish restaurant and we're having the tasting menu so I really can claim zero control.

If they offer cheese at the end then I won't have it but I think I'll throw myself into everything else as this is a big treat for me and DH. We're going with some lovely friends that we hardly ever see so I think I'll be in a state of high excitement which may burn off some extra calories. [hopeful]

I did try to do my first tummy crunch in ten years this morning though, in pre-emptive penitence!

AvadaKedavra · 08/06/2010 17:10

my salad at lunchtime turned into a baked potato with chicken and bacon in mayo, still all allowed, just the mayo being a bit dodgy but it wasn't plastered in it anyway.

Lemon, do enjoy your meal out, we still have to live life to the fullest, it's my birthday shortly and I have no intention of dieting on it!!

FluffyDonkey · 08/06/2010 17:16

Avada - I see you think I'm not eating enough!

Thing is, when I eat normally, I don't eat much more than what I wrote above. I just have some chocolate (less than 70g a day) and maybe some crisps. An extra glass of juice or milk. And the big calorie thing - dessert at lunchtime.

So I couldn't think of what else to do other than cut out the "bad" stuff.

I can't start a diet thing like no carbs, because to be honest, I work too many hours to be bothered with it and I'm afraid of being too hungry to work.

Written down like that it sounds like a crap excuse! But seriously, I work a lot, I go to the gym, and I organise my wedding. That's all I do at the moment! I have no energy to think about what I'm putting in my mouth, other than no chips, chocolate, crisps, etc. The easy stuff to remember!

justaminute · 08/06/2010 17:42

Is there room for another one to join in?

I found the 30 day Shred thread and it's ignited my exercise gene but the weight is refusing to budge so I'm hoping this thread will kick start my weight loss gene

I'm loving the wedding vibes on here. It's bringing back happy memories of when I was a size 12. Then along came 2 kids and a penchant for chocolate....

Ginnielynnie · 08/06/2010 20:53

Hello Ladies

Goodness you've all been busy!!

Congrats to our brides to be, you done much better than I ever did, the thought of my wedding seemed to make me reach for the chocs even more, done everything else but look for a dress, it was literally the last thing I done!!, So hats (or veil!)off to you ladies, it will all be worth it on the day.

AK- Tony Ferguson plan is exclusive to Boots Pharmacy, kinda like Slimfast.

Have decided though to eat healthier, althouh was so busy at work today, got no lunch break and have came home and binged a bit .

Tomorrow is another day, so its back on the saddle, need to be more organised and take lunch with me in the morning, although working full time with a toddler aint easy!!

giraffesCANdriveAcar · 08/06/2010 21:53

Hello and welcome justamin and claire

Thanks ak and mia not sure where its from - I got it 2nd hand on ebay for £18, quite pleased.

Tomorrow am going to the xfactor auditions - am so excited.

Today was so proud - never ate any dinner, was so busy today - wa slooking after 6 kids. Was shattered by end of day and didnt feel like eating. Thought about just getting choccy from shop, but no I came home and had a juice (I made in juicer - oranges, apples, carrot and broccoli) and a roll with banana. Was yum.

I did eat a few too many percy pig bisuits at work today They are yummy though!

Naetha · 09/06/2010 08:28

Had a bad week food wise to be honest - Friday went out to Pizza Hut (DS LOVED it though!), Saturday had a barbeque and then drank loads, Sunday had a cooked breakfast, Monday went to Wagamamma, and yesterday had fish and chips for lunch and then went to an all you can eat Indian buffet for dinner.

Weight is stable, but the amount of exercise I'm doing, it should be really dropping, so I'm going to go back to low carbing for a week at least. Got lots of lovely food in, so no excuse!

MiaWallace · 09/06/2010 08:38

Welcome justaminute.

Good luck with your audition giraffes, sounds very exciting. What are you going to sing?

I can't imagine that I'll be eating much today. My stomach is full of butterflies. I will be completing my degree tomorrow with a ten minute presentation. I'm totally unprepared because I've been concentrating on the wedding. Plus I hate presentations.

I just need to keep reminding myself that by tomorrow evening my degree will be finished. Will no doubt end up celebrating with a few glasses of wine and a take-away. Hopefully it won't do too much damage to the diet.

AvadaKedavra · 09/06/2010 09:52

Giraffe that's so exciting!
My DD's friend was on it 2 yrs ago and got to the going out to Simon's house in Barbados stage (don't watch it so not sure how far in that is!).
Best of luck and to you too Mia

B: berries and yogurt
L: ryvita, hummus
D: roast chicken, baby new potatoes, broccoli, carrots, no trimmings!

DrSpechemin · 09/06/2010 10:03

Morning all - today I'm going to need lots of willpower as am off for a lunch with dh. Have checked out the menu and think i'm going to go for a caesar salad with dressing on the side and try not to order a side of homemade chips!!!

So far the plan is:
B: berries and greek yog
L: chicken salad
D: home-made pizza

Think the pizza is ok - the base is v thin and I don't have cheese on pizza's anyway.

Am on my third day of no-alcohol too

Good luck today everyone

AvadaKedavra · 09/06/2010 10:28

I'm seeing a bit of a similarity with most of our breakfasts here

Ginnielynnie · 09/06/2010 14:19

Afternoon All

Back in the saddle today!

B-Banana & yoghurt
L-Homemade Veggie Soup & an Apple
D-Chicken Salad

Good luck to Giraffe and Mia

justaminute · 09/06/2010 14:49

Thanks for the welcome ladies.

giraffe I hope all went well at the auditions today - please give us all the gossip details. I'm impressed with anyone who has the bottle to do that.

Mia I was about to ask if you were a stress junkie what with your degree finals and planning a wedding but then remembered that I did my accountancy finals at the same time as planning my wedding. Too be honest I let dh plan most of the wedding, I just turned up for dress fittings . Good luck to you.

I'm trying to follow Rosemary Conley's GI Hip & Thigh diet. I'm a typical pear shape- low fat diets (ditching the biscuits & chocolate) usually do the trick for me.

MiaWallace · 09/06/2010 16:19

justaminute, I'm a glutton for punishment. To make matters worse I'll find out the overall results for my degree the day we go on honeymoon!

I have come off low carbs for a day or two because I've needed the extra energy to cope with everything. Still kept it low cal though.

Breakfast - cheerios
Lunch - ham salad and an orange
Dinner - Planning on chicken and veg.

Did you resist the chips Doc?

AvadaKedavra · 09/06/2010 17:04

Hope you resisted Doc!

I went to Starbucks and had a very nice tuna and soya bean salad as I was having a cake craving so had that instead and it filled gap very nicely. Proud I resisted as have been having a shit time of it very recently and the control over my food is the only thing seeming to go right just now, would have been very easy to say frog it all I am having a muffin!

AvadaKedavra · 09/06/2010 17:04

And it was only 279 calories, doesn't say that on the link.

AvadaKedavra · 10/06/2010 08:53

Where is everyone? I need your support

DrSpechemin · 10/06/2010 09:11

Morning!
Well done on the salad - 279 cals as well - far better for you than a muffin

I half resisted at lunch yesterday - the salad was off the menu and instead went for a ploughmans - not the best choice as I managed to eat all the cheddar and stilton - but it was soooo nice.

Haven't had a chance to do any exercise so don't feel as if I'm losing anything.

Plan today is:
B: berries and greek yog
L: Prawn pitta and sald
D: Chicken and giant couscous feta salad
snack:apple and cherries

Good luck today!

AvadaKedavra · 10/06/2010 10:15

Have you seen the caolries in even their skinny muffins? I nearly died!

I don't typically exercise, I haven't found anything I enjoy aside from spinning but the classes are always at the wrong times for me well done for resisting aside from the cheese!

B: 2 boiled eggs, 2 ryvita
L: HM tomato and lentil soup
D: liver (here you all boaking) and onions, a bit of gravy, carrots, broccoli
