CheeeseOnToast · 29/05/2010 10:05

Morning all

Has personal trainer last night at gym, was vvvv good. I learnt this new exercise which I thought was absolutely ingenius.

Here's what you do. Get into the 'plank' position (poised as if you were about to start doing press ups, with just hands and toes touching the ground), then move your knees up one by one, as if to touch your tummy. Alternate each side. After a while you can reach with your knees for the opposite shoulder, thus working your 'good waist' muscles. Have I explained that well enough? It works your shoulders, arms, all of your core muscles, thighs, bottom. And waist if you do the twisty version. Also you're so busy concentrating on getting the legs right that you forget you're supporting yourself with the arms, making it deceptively easy.

Didn't biff either, despite late dinner. Had burritos, basically dry fried mince with seasoning and spices in a splash of water, in a flour tortilla with lots of lettuce, chopped tomatoes and a smidge of grated cheddar. Ok, maybe the tortillas were strictly OOZ (out of zone) but the rest I felt was ok. V filling, and no dessert, despite the mountain of delicious speciality cheeses that DP bought yesterday

Happy zoning everyone!

CheeeseOnToast · 29/05/2010 10:05

Good thread-starting skills Coco, btw

dinkystinky · 29/05/2010 10:10

cornsilkcottagecheese · 29/05/2010 10:36

I MUST go to the gym today.

BariatricObama · 29/05/2010 10:39

at what point should i lose the bariatric name? i am thinking 10 7

FairhairedandFrustrated · 29/05/2010 10:40

The one day in 3 weeks I am assured a slight lie in what happens? My bloddy father rings me at 9am!! "Oh, did I wake you?" says he

Anyway, breakfast of orange, peach, grapes and banana and a cup of tea.

Dunno about lunch or dinner yet.

Have to go to town, ds has a birthday party to go to tomorrow & dd wants to sped her Holy Communion money, despite me telling her she has to save it She wants a doll with a potty, apparently she's always wanted one of those.... she doesn't own a single doll though, as she's always said she hates dolls.... live & learn eh?

Hope everyone elses Saturday got off to a good start

Themasterandmargaritas · 29/05/2010 10:41

The gym told me I am now 55.2kgs that means I have lost 0.8. Slowly but surely.....

BO, push yourself, let's say 10 2.

dinkystinky · 29/05/2010 11:06

Hurrah for the gym scales TMAM.

BO - 10 7 sounds good one to drop the name at.

Grr at your disrupted lie in Fairhaired - your name is definitely apt this morning. Good luck with the doll shopping.

Cheeeeeeeese - that is a fab all round exercise - is like the bicycle exercise but works your arms and shoulders too.

The enormo-exterminators have been to top up the poison. The mice have abandoned the zone and eaten all the yummy banana smelling poison up so they are hopefully now DEAD DEAD DEAD (with any luck). Enormo-exterminators have topped up the poison and will be back in 2 weeks to see if they need to top it up again. Let that be a lesson to mice who abandon the zone and biff. Hah!

In laws with us overnight last night, DS2 teething like a trooper and overtired dribbly mess when I got home so getting him to sleep was fun fun fun (took an hour!) and dealing with him in the night many times was knackering too. He's now sleeping off his night time exertions. I am drinking water and green tea in an attempt to stave off biffing cravings. Stubbed my toe last night and cracked the pink of the nail so going to give running a miss today and will do exercise dvd tonight instead as dont need to slip shoes on for that.

BariatricObama · 29/05/2010 11:13

@ 10 2

my goal is 10 4 but i think i can safelly consider myself none bariatric at 10 7

cheese your exercise sounds fantastic

Hi all.

Busy day yesterday so didn't get to post after morning. DS home from camp! Yay. Happy me. He is too cool to care of course. DH home late Thursday night bearing magazines.

Now. Serious important question. He has done something bad. Very bad. Am trying to decide if divorce or murder. I knew he was going to London. He told me he wouldn't have time to shop. So I asked for a couple of magazines. The bugger only went to M&S Marble Arch and bought himself a suit!!!!! Did he ask if I wanted anything? No! (I didn't but that's not the point!). So. Divorce or Murder? (Oh - before you stylish people turn your noses up at M&S suits - I have tried. For years. But he hates shopping and is a typical boring accountant so M&S it is!)

Got hair done yesterday. Just needed roots doing. Tried to explain the messy choppy bob for the blowdry but they couldn't manage it. Turned out ok but I will do myself for tonight.

Had trying on session of clothes for ball. Dress I wanted to wear fits but looks shite. Am wearing an outfit I got in New York last November. Have worn it to last 2 black tie things but figure it will be too big for next one so will wear it tonight.

Went for manicure and pedicure this morning so didn't walk dog. Too hot now. Will take her later.

Hi Nomde. Good result. What size clothes do you wear? I am 5ft 7 too - wonder what size I would be at around 10stone.

Fairhaired - bummer about early morning phone call!

NomDePlume · 29/05/2010 13:41

I'm very definitely in still in a 12 on top (boobs are the same size, weight has been lost from gut and arse) and I'm a 12 on the bottom but tbh it's a bit big.

A 10 is too small on me, or rather is not comfortable, I can fit into it but it's a bit 'overstuffed sausage', if you get my drift. Not a good look, so I'm sticking to a bit big 12. I suppose I'm an 11 in reality....

JackBauer · 29/05/2010 14:15

Afternoon ladies, no idea what i missed on last thread, or what i weigh. I imagine not good tho, was v good yesterday until we went to mates and drank all his wine. Nd then started on vimto vodka. So good. So bad. Had to wee in alley on way home + unintentionally flashed a dogwalker dh no help as he legged it.
Dh and i very delicate today, weetabix for brek as thats all filhad, sausage + saladfor lunch (ditto)
Rehab want mil to put on weight before they let her out so have made big batch fairy cakes for her, had to test eat one.
Should be stirfry tonight but depends on whether bil causes me stress again....

BudaisintheZONE · 29/05/2010 14:17

12!! I would LOVE to be a 12. I will be ecstatic if I get to that again. My goal jeans are a Gap size 13!

Forgot my confession for last post. Couldn't be arsed cooking last night so we ordered a curry. I had a poppadam, some chicken tikka and some Balti Cholie (chickpeas) with half a slice of naan. Then had a mini Magnum later. Not exactly in zone but have zoned today and I figure I need a treat every now and again. Oh - the Magnum tasted really sweet and chemically.

Obv tonight will not be zone but will be back in zone tomorrow.

Stomach still same size but rings are loser, I look slimmer in face and esp around neck and shoulders I think. And my feet! Birkies are loser and my feet keep slipping forward!

NomDePlume · 29/05/2010 14:33

Buda, it depends on your build. IIRC, AnyF*cker is 10st and the same height as us but wears a 10 so obviously build makes a big difference.

MamaG · 29/05/2010 16:07

well doen

newsflash<

I'M BORED OF MUMSNET

cocolepew · 29/05/2010 16:15
