FairhairedandFrustrated · 31/05/2010 11:19

I had a bowl of Tesco onion rings & 2 vodka & blackcurrant last night It's the only 'bad' thing I had this week though so don't feel too bad.

Am off work today & had planned to take kids to park etc, but they don't want to go!!

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 11:49

Morning all - have been off in Cambridge visiting friends over the weekend (got lots of you;ve lost weight/looking v slender comments which is always nice ) so just had a quick catch up - F&F well done on your race for life, TMAM well done on your huge run am in awe, Jack well done for keeping in the zone and exercising while away and Cyb, god that meal sounds like it was expensive and exasperating in equal measures. Totasky - welcome to the thread. Please do take it easy on yourself (and your pelvic floor unless you ran through pregnancy and have been religious with your pf exercises) with having had DS2 so recently - esp if bfing - and focus on eating healthily and exercising gently for energy/endorphins rather than calorie restricting and weightloss so you gently get yourself back into the zone and dont compromise your BM or make yourself too tired or hurt yourself. Postnatal pilates/exercise Dvds are a good way to ease back into exercise.

Bobs - sometimes you need a shock to the system like that to get you in the zone. Your new plan sounds a good idea.

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 11:50

New stuff looks great Jack but aargh at the dog poo laundry incident!

bobbiewickham · 31/05/2010 11:51

Hope it'll work, dinky.

Feeling zoney today.

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 12:01

Yay, hopefully you're in the hallowed zone now Bobs.

Was relatively zoney yesterday (didnt even drink to excess on account of having to keep an eye on nippers) but weather so grey and grim today I really just want to sit on the sofa and eat choc biscuits and drink tea. Am compromising with a mikado stick thing and a green tea.

CheeeseOnToast · 31/05/2010 12:23

Wotcha everyone

Been reasonably good the last few days. A bit too much red wine but I've tried to counteract that with zone-ish food. Lunch yesterday was oysters (i love my DP ) with delicious tomatoes, parma ham, and one cracker with some blue cheese. Dinner was Gordon Ramsey's lasagne, which was absolutely delicious, although that might be because of the amount of cheese that's in it . You put 60g of grated cheddar in the cheese sauce, then 30g of grated parmesan on the top of the lasagne before it goes in the oven!!! . I halved both amounts and it was still v luxurious tasting. And he puts milk in the mince, which I was unsure of but makes it v creamy. Very nice actually. I had a massive portion of steamed runner beans with it, and only a small helping of the lasagne. No dessert, despite DP wafting chocolate under my nose.

Porridge this morn for brekkie, and we're going out for dinner so will try and be good for that.

Welcome newbie with the 7 week old - but take it easy! please. Esp if you're bfeeding.

Well done FF&F - what a brilliant thing to do. Crossing the finish line on something you've worked hard for is unbeatable for self-esteem. Well done you!!

DP and I are off for a bike ride this afternoon so will try and burn off in advance today's dinner!!

Have a good zone day one and all!

BudaisintheZONE · 31/05/2010 12:31

Yuck to dog poo incident Jack. Had one of those this morning. Dog did a squidgy stinky poo indoors on carpet! NEVER does that. Thankfully cleaner was here and she heard me coughing and retching while I cleaned it up (I would never ask her to do it) and she took over! She has dogs herself and used to be a nurse so seems to have a stronger stomach than me!

Well done on size 16 top though. RESULT!!!

Hope you had a nice weekend Dinky.

Took dog for short walk this morning as it started to rain. Just half an hour. Better than nothing.

Breakfast was granola and half a banana.

Snack was a peach and a yoghurt and green tea.

Lunch was a salad with some left over chicken tikka and a yoghurt mint dressing.

DH is out tonight so dinner will be soup.

Themasterandmargaritas · 31/05/2010 12:55

Coco, thank you.

Top looks nice Jack.

Bobs sounds like a good idea, I do it that way.

Welcome newbie, but like the others have said, focus less on losing weight and just try to eat healthily even if it is A LOT.

at the Maccyd's. In my imagination they taste SOOOO nice. Please tell me you felt sick, gassy and greasy afterwards.

tostaky · 31/05/2010 13:25

to eat healthily would be to lose weight for me, as i overdid it so much during my pregnancy! as i said im trying to get my eating under control (no snacking + reasonable portions + no second helpings)

today - so far so good, i had two peaches (instead of cake) at 11 and lunch was ok-ish (had cheese twice). didnt go running as my trainers are soaking wet (stayed outside last night)

Jack - im 71kg and about 1.m70(not sure though)
Pre-pregnacy i was 58kg.

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 13:55

Tostaky - if you combine protein and small amounts of carbs for inbetween meal snacks (like oatcake and reduced fat houmous or cottage cheese) will help stave off the not-so healthy snackattacks between meals (as keeps you feeling fuller for longer).

cocolepew · 31/05/2010 14:44

No probs TMAM.

I didn't atually enjoy McD's and I was dying for one, the ketchup was far too sweet and ruined everything.

Stop telling dog poo stories, I like to think my pup will never do it indoors [deluded]

OP posts:
JackBauer · 31/05/2010 16:37

To be fair the dog never goes indoors, even with majorupheavel ov mil being in hozzy, but i left men in charge while i ran this morning and they didn't spot dog pooing in garden, or dd's stepping in it, or treading through 3 rooms and thrn climbing on laundry to reach fruit, useless bastards!

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 19:41

Ugh DS2 has hit the delightful separation anxiety stage - so nap and bedtimes are horrid protracted screamy affairs (on the plus side all the jogging up and down the stairs is at least good for my legs I guess). Didnt have this with DS1 - did any of you guys have it with your kids and how long did it last?

Buda - the story of your indoor dog poo made me feel queasy just reading about it. Poor you and thank god for your cleaner.

Jack - hope you got those useless men to clear up the shitty mess!

duckyfuzz · 31/05/2010 19:48

hello girls, DT-less here lovely indulgent day today, late breakfast, gym, liunch out, lazing in the garden with wine and unzoney nibbles, off shopping tomorrow with a night at hotel du vin before we pick them up again

dinky DT2 is 6.5 now and we sneaked out of my parents' house yesterday without saying goodbye, knowing it was far easier than the protracted farewells we'd endure otherwise, she will forgive us, I hope

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 19:50

Oh my god Ducky - dont tell me fricking separation anxiety goes on for 5 years! I may as well just dive head first into a reservoir of gin now....

Sounds like you've had a fab DTless day with more fab stuff to come. V envious of the night at hotel du vin.

bobbiewickham · 31/05/2010 20:01

Right, today I have eaten...

Branflakes
Innocent veg pot
Strawberries
Cockles in vinegar
Salmon fillet
Griddled asparagus
Peas
One and a half roasted baby new potatoes
A cookie (ds2 made them all by himself and wanted me to try one)

God that looks like loads

Think I'm a natural pig.

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 20:10

Bobs - that is absolutely fine. It looks like loads because it always does when you itemise it thoroughly - and impressed at only one cookie!

By way of comparison today I've had (bear in mind had sleepless night in travelodge in cambridge trying to convince separation anxiety laden DS2 to actually fricking sleep)
bagel,
small bowl of yoghurt and berries,
juice,
tea,
large handful of haribo,
small bowl of moroccan chicken soup,
green tea,
3 mikado sticks,
green tea,
2 milk chocolate digestive biscuits and a rich tea biscuit (I caved due to sleep deprivation),
peppermint tea,
chicken fillet,
roast veg,
industrial quantities of gin (medicinal purposes of course).

See I'm a bigger porker than you.

duckyfuzz · 31/05/2010 20:48

bobbie your food looks fine, as does yours dinky and mine was ok til we got home from gym and shops
muesli,
chicken salad
white wine
chips shared with DH
nuts
more nuts
cheesy puffs
celery and carrots with salsa
more cheesy puffs
nuts
chicken and potatoes, with salad
refused pud and made dh eat 2

bad girl

pointydog · 31/05/2010 20:55

dh's birthday this week so we are going to biff for britain.

Making a cake with ganache icing drizzled with melted chocolate. Will eat out at weekend too.

And then another family birthday the following weekend, a big one. So multo biffarago coming up.

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 20:55

Ducky - would those cheesy puffs be wotsits by another name?

Well done for gyming it and getting DH to eat 2 puds

cocolepew · 31/05/2010 20:58

today I had

2 rounds of toast and butter
juice
banana
half a subway sub
strawberries and cream
curry with rice and nan bread.

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 20:59

Hmm coco, you need to itemise the contents of that subway sub to see if you get away with that post. Strawberries and cream are a must though on a bank holiday weekend...

cyb · 31/05/2010 21:02

i had a kids snack box from the chippy on the beach!

and am now eating a crunchie with a cuppa tea....

feel I am no longer ITZ (In the ...)

duckyfuzz · 31/05/2010 21:03

ah yes but these were not just any wotsits, these were delicate puffs of corn enhanced with cheesy flavouring

dinkystinky · 31/05/2010 21:04

Sorry Cyb when you say ITZ it makes me think of ITNG with Cod as Iggledontyoudarepiggleout...
