Did you notice how I was too polite to ask that question?

This is the marathon. Eeek.

If anyone is feeling flush and would like to sponsor me the money goes straight into my mental health charity, more details here.

chibi · 30/05/2010 15:48

Master you are the queen of running

I am doing 5 k now without feeling too exhausted huzzah

little by little, eh

in other news I bought a new pair of jeans at gap today, straightleg size 14 they are slim rather than skinny iyswim

I look thrillingly modern after nearly a decade of bootcut jeans and am v v pleased with myself

I do not look like an inverted triangle as I had feared and they fit well, I am comfortably a 14 iyswim

I Do Not wish to hear that gap does vanity sizing and in reality I am a size 300 so no buzzkills thx

BudaisintheZONE · 30/05/2010 16:23

TMAM - sponsored! It looks fab. An amazing thing to do.

I decided whilst drunk last night that I will do couchto5K with a view to doing 10k - I want to be able to run the lap of Margit Island here in Budapest twice before we leave next year. Have dodgy knees (most likely from weight) so am not sure if I should start just yet or wait till I lose some more weight.

chibi - well done on the jeans!

bobbiewickham · 30/05/2010 16:30

Ooh, new thread!

Am making concerted effort to re-enter the zone after getting on the scales this morning and realising I am officially fatter than I was when I started.

I am NOT going to be fat on my holidays. I am not going to be the fair, fat and (nearly) forty year old English pink and white mum on a beach full of gorgeous lithe Frenchwomen.

And I am not going to be fat at Camp Bestival. I want to be able to fill my face in front of Hugh Fearnley Whatisface and have him thinking "where does she put it all?" not "Greedy fat bitch".

Had a final uberbiff last night at Japanese restaurant, necked some margaritas and said goodbye to my biffing days.

I now officially Eat Like A Thin Person.

So far today - a slice of toast and marmite.

Will have a sensible amount of Sunday lunch.

And I'm going to stop drinking wine in the week.

And this time I really mean it.

FairhairedandFrustrated · 30/05/2010 17:49

OMG, the race for life was absolutely fantastic!!!

I managed the 5K in 34 mins! That's the first time I've ran that far!!

My sister, a hardened runner did it in just over 20 so I don't feel too bad!

Deffo going to do next years

Eating not too bad today, just porridge this morning before run, then a banana, have been s;eeping since and dinner is potatoes, chicken & veg Might spoil myself with a glass of rose, or maybe I'll have an ice-cream Just a little Sunday evening treat!

bobbiewickham · 30/05/2010 17:51

Well done!

I did it a few years ago (not as quickly as you - that's great!) and it's a really euphoric feeling.

I might try and do next year's.

Fab work, Fair!

FairhairedandFrustrated · 30/05/2010 17:56

And whoever told me to sprint to the end was right - just as we rounded the corner I thought I could lie down....then I saw a whole crowd of people, so kept her lit!!

I punched the air as I passed the finish line, a huge personal achievement, as this time last year I wouldn't have had the courage to do something like that, I would've hated so many people looking at me - but 3 stone & 2 sizes smaller I lapped up the applause as if it was only for me [bigheaded]

FairhairedandFrustrated · 30/05/2010 17:57

Thanks Bobbie!

Themasterandmargaritas · 30/05/2010 17:58

Ff+f, well done you! That's a great time. Next thing will be a half marathon for you.

Talking of half marathons, Buda you are wonderful, thank you.

bobbiewickham · 30/05/2010 17:59

Aww, fairhaired, that is fab.

Good on yer.

JackBauer · 30/05/2010 18:14

Aw well done ff, I told you to sprint, I did it last year with my sister and she made me sprint the last 100m. (did it in 39 minutes, over twice what it would have taken her) I burst into tears about 30 seconds later! (I also nearly threw up afterwards) The applause was for you!
Have had loooong convo with fucking BIL today on my on (DH out) which drove me to eat some spare stuffing balls.

coronation and tikka chicken salald for lunch (not enough of either)
Need a fag and a drink tonight, pub might be beckoning before 24.

cocolepew · 30/05/2010 18:35

I had 2 happy meals in McDonalds today [runs away]

cocolepew · 30/05/2010 18:53

Well done FF, at least it stayed dry.

OP posts:
FairhairedandFrustrated · 30/05/2010 19:11

Yep!! I heard you shouting from your sofa Coco

BudaisintheZONE · 30/05/2010 20:38

Well done Fairhaired!!!!

Coco!!! Bad girl. Two?????

We went to gardencentre today and there us a mcdonalds next to it. I was waiting for ds to ask to go and I was planning on saying yes! Really fancied it. But he didn't!!! So came home and had oatcakes with philly and strawberries instead!

Other eating has been ok. Not great but not bad for a slightly hungover Sunday and a mcdonalds craving! Cooked breakfast - one sausage, one piece White puddiing, two bits bacon, one egg, beans and tomato. The oatcakes in afternoon and then lentil salad, steak, haloumi and a small burger for dinner. Oh - 2 crisps!

Hoping I won't have done too much damage over weekend.

Bobbie - you can do it!

tostaky · 30/05/2010 21:48

hi there! can i join you?
im currently 13 kilos over my goal weight (had DS2 7wks ago and pregnancy is a licence to eat). im breastfeeding so hopefully that will help.

im trying to get back to running too, i ran for an hour three days ago - was fine but right hip was playing up a bit and ive got massive blisters on both feet for doing nothing during 9 months +7wks

Eating wise - not doing too bad at the moment. im eating healthily (ie. not dieting)
currently working on losing the (pregnant) habit of eating for 2 (ie: bingeing)

Today: super small bowl of special K + coffee; apple; lunch: steamed cauliflower; mushrooms with tomato; small piece of chicken; lots of cherries; some strawberries; dinner: salad+egg; cheese +bread

Mastermargarita - im impressed! id love to run something similar one day.. just where do u find the time to train!!?

Bobbie - good luck with your plan!

bobbiewickham · 30/05/2010 21:50

Thanks and welcome, tostaky - and congratulations!

Aitch · 30/05/2010 21:53

no dieting if you've a new baby. that's for losers.

Aitch · 30/05/2010 21:54

(like, bad losers. not good losers. ach, you know what i mean. )

FairhairedandFrustrated · 30/05/2010 22:10

TMAM - that course looks tough!! But you'll do absolutely brilliant at it!

Am having a cheeky little vodka at minute - feel I deserve one

BudaisintheZONE · 31/05/2010 07:45

Morning all. Another week. Another Monday. Another hop on the scales to see what damage the weekend has wrought. Seem to have gained 1.5 kilos! Oh well. Back in zone. Lots of walking, zoning, water and green tea planned. And soup. Lots of soup. And it is sodding well cold enough for soup here this week too.

Fairhaired - you did deserve the vodka!

Hi tostaky! Welcome. Be warned that this is a tough group! You will get shouted at if you eat crap! Don't put too much pressure on yourself though. Breastfeeding a newborn will take a lot of energy. I would just concentrate on making sure that what you eat is really good healthy stuff.

bobbiewickham · 31/05/2010 10:37

Right, ladies, I'm going to do the thread backwards from now on.

On Friday someone started a thread called "what have you eaten today?" and I posted on it and was horrified.

So every night I am going to post exactly what I have eaten. Hopefully it will make me think twice before biffing, to know I will have to face the truth at the end of the day.

Planning in advance doesn't work for me.

JackBauer · 31/05/2010 10:58

Good idea bobs, I don't tend to post in advance as I change my mind so much!
HAd a bit more chicken last night and some more veg, and 2 new roasted potatoes...
Went for run this morning. Is weird not knowing how much I weigh, quite liberating though! back home tomorrow, DH back later, so am getting online shop delievered tomorrow nigth to avoid 'there's no food after hols takeaway' biff.

tostaky, how much do you weigh/measure? Don't be too harsh on yourself whiel BFing, at 7 weeks you should be taking it easy you know!

Making small quiche later for FIL, god knows what I am going to have, have run out of good food, aaagh.

JackBauer · 31/05/2010 11:11

Ooh, did mean to add, had a dogshit on DD's shoes and all over my clothes (she stood in the washing basket) 'incident' so had to buy some more clothes as everything was dirty.
Went to asda (I'm not made of money) and bought size 18 leggings, which fit, and this in a size 16, which fits! and is a bit baggy! (slight tummy pooch but nothing that woudl make me stay in the house.
Only problem is I have no decent shoes now it is raining so am walking around in my bike boots, not fashion ones mind, but actual armoured boots for wearing on a motorbike, sexy.
