Old thread here

Nice new home for us now that March is over!

OP posts:
prettybird · 23/06/2010 23:52

Thanks.

Glad to hear calorie counting has worked!

Just the act of writing down what I'm eating has helped. Have to say though that today's "extra" allocation of 1700 (following the zig-zag method I came across) is proving difficult. I have had to have an extra glass of wine and a banana - and I might still have to a couple fo jaffa cakes with my "going to bed" cup of tea

I'll add my details tomorrow but use Monday as my baseline and for future reporting (with the excpetion of the 5th and 12th though!)

I'll join the Christmas thread - especially since 1 April is my target wieght (as I plan to be at a luxury game reserve in South Africa for my 50th 5 days later - the same place we went to on our honeymoon and again 2 years ago for an early 10th wedding anniversary).

With the exception of the next couple fo weeks, I am going to try to be sensible and maintain a reasonable but steady weight loss.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/06/2010 06:46

welcome pretty bird - have added you

i am not expcting a loss tomorrow after cake/brownies and malteasres

working today so cant get to the gym [sad[

Fabulous trip Prettybird!! Definitely a great incentive. I certainly find it easier To focus on losing weight when I have a target date. My current target date is the first weekend in September as we have a family wedding and DD is a bridesmaid.

GettinTrimmer · 24/06/2010 12:23

Just been for a run, had to keep stopping and having some water, but I did it at least!

I am also wearing a size 14 pair of black linen shorts from M & S, I couldn't get the waist done up even when I bought them, now they are comfortable on me.

piste you've reminded me about goals, I have the wedding coming up. Not long now till 1st August. Would just like to be 11 stone by then or just a bit under.

I'll be with you at Christmas.

blondes good luck for tomorrow. You never know!

that zig-zag method sounds sensible prettybird, how many days do you have 1400 cals/1700 cals?

Nothing much happening with me today.

Ds has an ant house, but it fell over this morning: "there's a spillage over here mummy!" I think we managed to retrieve the escaped ants, but just seen one crawling up the door.... and I've noticed some scratching of heads, so the head lice might be back. Insects everywhere!

Poohbearsmom · 24/06/2010 12:44

Oooooo Trimmer thats not nice! You poor thing

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/06/2010 12:46

tbh i will leave internet/mn/email alone when im away

but will no doubt put up pics on fb so if anyone wants to have a peek let me know and i will add you

never understood those who pop on when on holiday

i shall relax with dh - gawd knows i need it after the past few months

pmsl at escaping ants

and fab you got your butt into 14 linen trousers

and pmb - stop eating crap, it all got to come off as after no 3 !!!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/06/2010 16:53

GT - my two went through a phase of nits ( spawn of the devil ) but happily not for a long time now, like a couple of years. But DD who loves science used to quite like getting them and putting them under her microscope LOL You could actually see blood pumping round their little bodies!!

TMI anyone?

Anyway one day she had a big one, put it under the microscope with the little glass slide on top. When she came back the little bugger had tossed aside the glass slide and legged it We never found that one!

Wooohooooooo My builders have gone
My kitchen is so gorgeous!!!!
Before we can actually use it we have to oil the oak tops which is deffo a DH job, and we are aiming to move back in at the weekend. It's so busy here it's mad - it's DS's school Year 6 production tonight, and DD's marathon Sports Day tomorrow. Realistically it will be Saturday, but I am so glad the builders have GONE!!!

Blondes When are you actually off?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 24/06/2010 16:57

What shall the name of our next thread be???

Bebe should do it as she did such a good job last time

GettinTrimmer · 24/06/2010 18:02

That made me itch Piste, just have to mention them and I itch, all over. That one that legged it! Tenacious little buggers aren't they?

New thread name: 2010 Weight Loss Club: Summer and beyond (sounds a bit naff, any other ideas?)

PBM Your poor sis. I know my friend tells the story of how she had the worst case of head lice her doctor had ever seen, but she managed to get rid of them. Very hard when pg not to overeat, I know we feel like the green light is on. But stick healthy eating with us, and it'll be OK when baby's born When is he/she actually due?

I need a big kick up the bum.

Just took the dc to get an ice cream, ds didn't like his so I ate it. And there's more...

Went out for lunch and had lentil, spinach and sweet potato curry, then a small pot of creme brulee. I though it was a healthy choice, but it didn't fill me up.

snacked and grazed while doing the dc's tea. I am not expecting a loss again this week, just hope it isn't a gain. Last Thursday I just seemed to go awol, must be the Thursday munchies...

GettinTrimmer · 24/06/2010 18:03

piste Your kitchen sounds fab.

bebejones · 24/06/2010 19:28

Just a real quickie! Got to go get Petrol & pack stuff up, off to my mums 2moro!

Thread name...

2010 Weight Loss Club: Onwards & Downwards

2010 Weight Loss Club: The one where we all stay slinky!

Will try and pop on and catch up when I'm at mums, just got so much sewing to finish! Roll on Tuesday when it will all be over!!!

OP posts:
Murtette · 24/06/2010 20:27

Sorry I disappeared, ladies. DD was teething and I had a cold and then there was soooooooo much housework to do to catch up. I've still been listing what I've been eating and am trying to reduce the carbs and up the veggies.

Piste - my aunt taught at a pre-prep where the mums used to turn up in pretty dresses for sports day only to whip them off just before the parents races to reveal proper running gear underneath.

Bebe - how is the elbow? That curry recipe looks scrummy

Blondes - good luck with the weigh in tomorrow.

prettybird · 24/06/2010 20:44

I came across the zig-zag calorie calculator here.

For my weight/height etc, it calculated (for "extreme fat loss") 1472 calories a day with 1767 allowed on Wednesday and 1620 on Saturday.

I'll change to the "fat loss" calculations once I am back from holiday.

I've had a look at the Food Focus web-site - it's really good! I've keyed in my food back to last Saturday (got bored, so won't go back further). I like the weight you can slo caluclate your exercise.

prettybird · 24/06/2010 20:49

Freudian slip . Let me correct that last sentence: "I like the way you can also calculate your exercise"

1395 calories so far today - so I'm OK for some tea with milk still

Did another 2+ mile run today, followed by 45 minutes Pilates with a ring (I got my Pilates instructor to email me her crib sheet from the class on Monday so I could remember what we'd done)

laughalot · 25/06/2010 09:09

Hi everyone just a quickie got a plane to catch . Hope you all do well whilst im away, please dont delete me off the list as i will defo need it when i get back . See you in a few weeks.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 25/06/2010 13:39

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/06/2010 16:18

i fly wednesday early am and really looking forward to it

laughalot and prettybird enjoy your holidays x

GettinTrimmer · 25/06/2010 17:57

Hi everyone

murtette well done on listing your food. It's really hard work when they're teething, especially the back teeth.

laughalot have a great trip another from me!

prettybird thanks for the link. I'm going to try the zig zag method, and glad you found foodfocus helpful.

blondes well done on sts. Has that 30 Days Shred arrived yet? I did level 2 today, it is very hard and I'm hoping either for some kind of loss or sts tomorrow.

Exercised x5 this week.

My dress from Bravissimo has turned up, it is very flattering really pleased, it emphasises the slimmest part of me. Size 14 seems a bit roomy, so I'm going to try a 12, I think their sizes are quite generous.

Murtette · 25/06/2010 20:52

Evening ladies

Gettin - delighted that you found a dress you liked. How did your DS get on at school this week.

Blondes - have a fab holiday. I bet you'll come back re-motivated to get into those suede trousers - after all, you wouldn't want to be wearing them in this weather!

What about this for a thread title - "2010 Weight Loss Club - Summer Slinkies"? I thought we should recognise the amazing progress so many of you have made.

Today's food:
Breakfast - toast x 2
Lunch - ryvita x 4; cottage cheese; carrot; pear
Snack - WW brownie
Supper - cod with tomato paste and leeks, peas and potato; melon
I'm just about to sit down and enjoy a vodka tonic

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/06/2010 22:47

Trimmer. Yes DVD arrived and no I haven't opened it

I'm happy I sts and I ate badly so part of me thinks what's the point and being good and yet I sts like the past 3 weeks

I'm sooooooo looking forward to my holiday yet know I will pile on the lbs when I eat and drink and normally drink diet drinks and on holiday they never haev diet lemonade or diet tonic

murette. Well done for writing food down

I hae my friend staying ad went out for a meal and wine and tomorrow I'm up in the big smoke aka London meeting nannies for meal and drinks so think I can say diet has gone now till I'm back and will start afresh 16th July but that weekend I'm doing a wedding crèche and then it's my birthday (19th) so basically July will be a total write off

'sits on naughty step in antispaction'

GettinTrimmer · 26/06/2010 08:26

Have a great holiday Blondes, maybe a break from the diet will be good you'll be renewed in August.

You haven't gained at all since starting the thread?

murtette If you get hungry the only other thing I would do is add some protein at breakfast, but well done, you'll definitely lose on that.

I lost 1lb this week. My goal is to lose 5lb by 1st August for the wedding, then to be almost at goal by 21st August, which is when we go on holiday.
