RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/04/2010 22:00

Poohbearsmom · 10/04/2010 23:42

laughalot · 11/04/2010 08:04

Hi everyone are you all enjoying the nice weather ?

Blondes I hope you and dh are ok, I am defo here to listen if you want to chat my email is [email protected]. My friends dh did something very silly a few years back and it ended up on youtube he learnt his lesson.

Bebe hows the throat? Good for weight loss though .

Piste sounds like a fab day I cant wait for me and dd to be able to do things like that she is only 3 though at the minute.

Pooh sounds like you have right been through the mill hope you fell better soon. Iv been considering the coil for a while would you recommend ?

Fruit welcome to the thread our home is very supportive and im sure you will be happy here

Jodie hows things with you ?

Gettingtrimmer isnt it great wearing a size 14 I can buy nearly anything in a 14 now and they fit its great.

Who have I missed ?

Not much been happening here mainly been in the garden so I just keep thinking of the weight loss when im mowing the lawn I hate that job lol. The weight in tomorrow reckon it will be a 1 lb as iv only half tried this week.

GettinTrimmer · 11/04/2010 09:50

Morning all

PBM Glad you are feeling a bit better. Will they put your coil back in? I don't know how mine stays put really after 2 big babies!

All the best with your tests next week.

I will have to find a few recipes to post from that GI book. Also, do you have brown basmati rice with stir frys? Really low GI.

piste Your day sounds lots of fun. Never been to Wagamamas before - do they do veggie? I try and go to the theatre every now and again, last year we went to the Globe, going to the Old Vic in a couple of weeks.

blondes that chinese sounds good, we ended up having potato wedges last night. Well done on going to the gym, take time for yourself.

bebe hope you are feeling better soon - you will have lost loads tomorrow!! There is a bright side.

laughalot I had the coil fitted about 3 years ago, hardly have a period now. There was a thread about it on general health and I've heard others had problems, but I am fine.

This is a quote from John Barrowman, he was interviewed in the ww magazine: "Allow yourself to fail, then pick yourself up again. If you want to lose weight, go for it. You can do it!"

My gain over easter will probably take about another 3 weeks to shift! I am hoping for a 1lb this week, been finding it a little difficult to get back into the swing of it, but now's the time for another push for summer.

Have a good day all.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2010 12:06

owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

my arms and bum cheeks are on fire

was a new routine at bc yesterday and today can hardly move - instuctor said we would feel it in the morning and OMG i do!!!!

i def trying to heave myself up again, dont want to put back the 19 lbs ive lost this year

pbm - kwym - once you fall its bloody hard to pick yourself up again but WE will do it!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2010 12:07

forgot to say good luck with tomorrow weigh in

fruit when do you weigh?

Poohbearsmom · 11/04/2010 12:20

Thanks laughalot & Trimmer im grand just dying to get all these tests over and done with! Never told ye, but found out earlier this wk my cousin was in hosp last wk with the same thing as me & they are going testing him for all the same things as me, one of which our gran had... freaky coincidence like hopefully we'l both get the all clear cant put the coil back in if it comes out cause it would/could cause an infection sometimes i think i imagine it doesnt agree with me but i will be better able to tell if its jus me or really was the coil to blame now its out... i think it effected my moods & 'labido' but i dono ya know... it really lightened my periods but i had continueous spotting for 6months then about 7-10days spotting every month but its v.effictive same as havin your tubes tied iv bn told i think it all depends how sensitive someone is to hormones, i think if the pill agreed with someone then the mirena prob would be grand too... can i let ye all in on a little secret... Im hoping when all this medical stuff is sorted we can start ttc, i had planned to get the coil removed when all my tests were finished & they had decided what to do with the fistula but iv had two high vaginal swabs (sorry way tmi ) & the g.p prescribed tablets to be inserted after two days of the tabs the coil fell out think all the messin about down there caused it, its jus such a waste of money cause it was sooo exp here, is it there? i think i personally wouldnt get the mirena again but i would think about copper coil anyone know much about them? hth laughalot & i didnt bore the head off u & everyone

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2010 12:32

not boring us at all - just sorry you have had so much grief/pain recently

Poohbearsmom · 11/04/2010 13:14

Thank you Blondes kick gratefully recieved will HAVE to start exercising again im such an addict to food/laziness! if it wasnt for ye i wouldnt be doing this still, THANK YOU ALL!!,.. Now... iv had my all-bran & skim for breaky and had my tom & veg soup for lunch had mangerines for treat, heading out for a walk with the boys after iv hoovered & iv my stirfry ready for the eve & im going to add some mussels to that later so i really feel good today tis such a vicious cycle isnt, eat crap when ya feel crap then feel a million times crapper after...

bebejones · 11/04/2010 14:34

Hello all! Am feeling much more myself today! DH has the lurgy now!! I dragged him to mothercare this morning & we had a treat. Subway for lunch. I checked website before we went & picked a low fat/low cal sub. So although it was bad it was too bad IYSWIM. I figured I had some calories spare from the last few days!

I'm not so sure I will have lost weight or at least not lost loads. Haven't exercised really at all this week. Been pretty much house bound & felt rubbish most of the week. I really need to motivate myself to exercise more! I know it'd boost the weight loss I just never seem to have the time. It is so difficult doing DVD with DD around but at the moment I need to use the time when she is asleep in the day to do housework & work on some textiles stuff I'm doing for my mum. Now she is better though we will be able to start going to the Park & swimming & for walks again. Not much but I'm sure it does make a difference.

Found a nice Chicken Chow Mein recipe in the SW magazine & also a 3 bean chilli. Have done the chilli one before when I did SW & it's yummy so will prob give thata go this week!

Blondes - Ouch!! Maybe a nice long soak in a bath would help ease the pain!

PBM - exciting on the TTC front! Good luck with your tests, fingers crossed for you.

Laughalot - I hate gardening too, but I like sitting in the garden! This is why I shall be forcing encouraging DH to get out there next weekend and sort ours out!!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 11/04/2010 21:19

Good luck tomorrow all

bath isn't helping. Soooooooooo sore. Nearly had to ask dh to undo my bra as can't get arms round the back of me easily but tbh he (as many men are) is useless at undoing it lol

bebejones · 11/04/2010 21:54

Oh dear Blondes, take plenty of ibuprofen!!

OP posts:
Poohbearsmom · 11/04/2010 22:41

Mmm subway gosh i love subway id love to give that chilli a try if you wouldnt mind putting up the recipe Bebe?

Am not holding out much hope for tomorrow, one good day will not make up for my lack of motivation for ages... O well back on it now jus gotta stick on it... goodluck fellow monday weighers

bebejones · 12/04/2010 07:21

3lbs for me today!! I should be ill more often!! NEED to do more exercise though! Feel like I am always saying that. Just finding time is so tricky!

PBM - will post recipe later...DH has hidden the magazine!

Big Well done BEBE!!! You are doing so fantastic, I would love to see before and after pics!!!! (That goes for everyone really! )

Blondes - Hope your muscles are feeling better today, at least you know you worked hard

Piste - Your shopping trip sounds nice. I need to 'adopt' a girl in the future, either that or hope for fab Daughters-in-Law

PMB for all your health woes, hope ou get sorted soon, I too suffer from the lazy gene and it takes every effort for me to get off my big arse!

Trimmer Whats the 'science' behind the low GI diet? I've heard of it, but don't know that much about it.

Thanks for asking about me guys, I put on 1.5lbs but I only have mself to blame. I am going to try harder this week, although we did have a BBQ at home on Saturday, I didn't count my calories but I did make all my own burgers/sausages with lean meat, but it was the bread and alcohol that did me in I suppose, although I was good yesterday, I was 90 cals under.

I have been running quite well, I'm on week 2 now (nearly week 3) I'll go out tonight, and I've been doing some toning type excersises in the day too, thinking of investing in a resistance band.

My arm is getting there, I still don't have a full range of movement in my elbow or wrist (can't straighten arm, or touch my shoulder) but I am driving at least now. I'm off to see the consultant again this morning.

Bebe SW recipes are great, I'm not following SW really, but I do cook from the mags as they are simple and low fat too. Sounds like there is a new mag out, I'll look for that today. I tried a Beef Strog. the other day, it was yum yum. When I have time later I'll postthe recipe if anyone is interested.

Anyway, better get us all dressed, Good luck for all you Monday weigh in ladies.
x

GettinTrimmer · 12/04/2010 07:57

1lb off for me.

Feeling a little fed up today, but the good thing about food focus is that I can look back to when I lost 2lb per week 2 weeks running, I did x5 exercise. Running/Spinning (RPM)/Aerobics. So that's what I am going to fit in this week, but can't go spinning as dc are home.

Well done bebe!

bebejones · 12/04/2010 10:23

PBM - 3 bean chili recipe (serves 4 or prob more if served with rice & freezes well)

You need:
Fry Light
1 finely diced onion
4 cloves of crushed garlic
2tsp ground cumin
1/2pt passata
400g can of cherry tomatoes
340g can sweetcorn
1red & 1 green pepper - finely diced
1/2tsp ground cinnamon
400g can pinto beans, drained
400g can black beans, drained
400g can kidney beans in chili sauce
salt & freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
A handful fresh chopped corriander

  1. Heat frying pan sprayed with fry light & cook onion & garlic for 6-8mins or until onion is softened.

2.Add cumin, passata & tomatoes & bring to boil. Reduce heat & simmer for 15-20mins, stirring often.

  1. Stir in sweetcorn, peppers, cinnamon & beans & cook for a further 15mins
  1. Season to taste with salt, black pepper & cayenne pepper. Remove from heat & stir in corriander & serve.

I always make a big batch and freeze in portions. Is also good in small portions on a jacket potato for lunch.

Going to be trying the Poato & Spinach bake from magazine this week & I will post that recipe once it is tried and tested!!

OP posts:
bebejones · 12/04/2010 10:27

PBM - make your own coleslaw & cous-cous/pasta salads to go with the BBQ then you can fill up on the 'healthy' stuff & have the meaty bits as a side dish almost. That's what I would do anyways!! Can't wait for our very overgrown garden to be sorted looking forward to having lots of BBQ's & spending time out there with DD!

Hello

I've sts which is amazing as I went out twice last week and, given I've hardly been out since DD was born, I didn't hold back on the wine or dessert and then we had a BBQ this weekend.

Bebe - well done again!

Piste - have you hit the 2 stone mark? If so, well done to you

Gettin - i'm so impressed that you didn't get disheartened by your gain and have managed to lose again straight away. Was it you who said a while ago that you were worried that you'd begin to think that you'd lost enough and not continue to your goal? If so, perhap that gain did you a favour of re-motivating you (is there such a word)?

Jodie - my Mum broke her wrist around the same time as you did and it seems to be a long, slow process back to full movement. I'm glad you're getting there.

Gotta go - DD just woke up and is telling the whole street about it!

Poohbearsmom · 12/04/2010 13:58

Thanks for updating me Bebe and i really like that recipe am def going to give it a try and i think il do the low dat salads as my main and keep the meat as a side idea, might help damage control

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/04/2010 14:26

Yipppeeeee! One pound for me which makes me officially at the two stone loss marker. Hooray!! Am now looking forward to seeing the scales say 11 stone something.. They, like me, will probably collapse in disbelief - it has been such a long time since they said that!

I love the school holidays - no bloomin homework, tests to revise for, school sports fixtures etc to take up our time, so we are going on long bike rides which is great plus loads of swimming. DD in particular is loving having time to socialise with her mates. Freedom!

DS and I have just been out for a two hour ride, with a picnic lunch, in the sun out of the wind it was gorgeous, but when the wind blew and the sun went in it was ffffffffffffffreezing!

Bebe - Am going to make that chilli recipe - all my lot would like that.

DH has gone away this morning to Oz until a week tomorrow, so I am home alone again, easier on the catering front, but we do miss him Also before he gets back it will be DD's birthday, so that did not go down well.

Well done on the losses, and the STSs - it's all good!
