Fruitgums · 09/04/2010 14:21

Hi

Can I join in please? I'm already TRYING to do slimming world but could do with the support from here as well.

I have about 4 stones to lose

GettinTrimmer · 09/04/2010 14:45

Welcome Fruitgums

Just add yourself to the list, most of us weigh in on Mondays, but others do Fridays/Saturdays, we're quite flexible.

How long have you been doing Slimming World?

I do foodfocus, an online calorie counter and try to stick to 1400/1500 per day and do plenty of exercise.

GettinTrimmer · 09/04/2010 14:54

piste have a great day out. I am going to London soon to the Old Vic Theatre to see a play, can't wait.

PBM I noticed your other thread about low GI diets, I meant to post on it - I choose as many low GI foods as possible, brown basmati rice is a good one, so is brown pasta. I had granary toast this morning, that's another one that's good.

I've got a book that I picked up from the book people, very cheaply with recipes in it, called GI high energy cookbook author is rachael anne hill.

bebe thanks for starting new thread

Just posted this on old thread, so copied and pasted!

Fruitgums · 09/04/2010 15:06

Hi Gettin Trimmer - I've re-joined SW in January 2010 and I've only lost 7.5lbs
Feel like I'm wasting my money. So I've signed up for a further 6 weeks and if I haven't lost any weight then I will probably leave as I'm just wasting my money.

Onto a positive note, I've started the running/walking programme and feel so much fitter for doing it.

Also, I've bought an exercise DVD and just need teh motivation to do it every day - it's only 20mins so no excuses really.

Just marking my place, be back later.

Welcome Fruitgums x

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2010 17:29

< drags blonde butt to new thread>

tho is a slightly smaller butt then last thread

Hi guys. Life just gets worse

thought it would be sorted today but alas
not.

I don't want to say on here what the problem is as will probably be googleable in the near future and don't want my name on here associated with it iyswim

but if anyone has an ear to lend then please cat me

good news is even though I have eaten everything in sight I have sts so least that is something

welcome fruitgums. Sure someone else on our thread is doing sw

I'm a ww girl when I'm motivated but alas I'm not at the moment

keep up the good work everyone xxx

bebejones · 09/04/2010 19:46

Welcome fruitgums! I'm sure there is someone else doing SW...Jodie?! I always have the best of intentions re exercise & then fail miserably!

Had made carrot soup for tea but tasted so vile (no idea why, was like organge coloured mushy water ) only ate half of it so am now really hungry!!

Blondes - won't CAT you coz I don't want you to feel pushed into disclosing what it is. But my DH did something really really stupid about a year ago at work. Pretty much cost him his job & forced him to go self employed. Is all very long winded, dull & in depth to explain so I won't go into details. Resulted in so many problems for the company & DH even had death threats over it!! All resulted in DH having a breakdown & being off work for 2months with stress related problems. Was not a good time. So I can completely understand the moronic things they do. And if you feel like you want to offload I am here and willing to lend a sympathetic ear! For now though, have a very un-MN and very well done you on STS!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2010 20:51

Bebe. I dont mind you catting. You are not making me confess or pushing me to disclose stuff. Tho you may not want to associate with me when you find out

Your poor dh but sounds like he sorted himself out and dh hasn't had a breakdown yet tho I feel close to one at times

my rw friends know what us happening and I don't mind saying what it is and what my pratt dh has done just not on here as will be googleable

anyway sorry hijacking our new home

tomorrow is a new day&will try to motivate myself. Going to the gym, haven't been for a few weeks so sure I will struggle with routine

GettinTrimmer · 09/04/2010 21:10

Blondes, I think by the sound of it Bebe has more experience than me of what your dh might have done, although I've had my share in the past of men being pratty.

I've seen people put their e-mail addresses on here with spaces in between and I don't go on facebook or anything like that, so I can put my e-mail address on - anybody else on the thread can contact me then. Or is that a bit dodgy?

I meant to ask, how was your couple of days in Bognor? We are not that far away from that neck of the woods.

Good idea to go to the gym, exercise is great to take your mind off it. Hope you are sleeping OK and at least having some healthy food now and again. Can you take yourself off to friends/family frequently when it all gets too much? Take care x

bebe Did you put cumin/coriander or anything like that in your soup? Funnily enough, the last carrot soup I made tasted dull.

bebejones · 09/04/2010 21:19

Trimmer - did put some coriander in & that was all I could faintly taste, maybe it's the bug? Although the piece of buttered toast I just had tasted amazing Oops!

Blondes - haven't paid the subscription for CAT & can't find my purse...DD had it earlier hoping that isn't a sign of things to come! Will have a hunt for it in the morning. Don't mind putting email address on here like Trimmer said if that is easier?! Completely your call, but at least RL friends know & hope you are getting some support there x

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2010 21:39

I have a seperate email for mn. Don't worry about paying for cat. I just have it for work. Again hence why I can't mention on here what dh did as will be googleable in the future&i can't have my name associated with it

sounds very cloak&dagger lol

My name then 73 at gmail.com

bebe. Forgot to say thanks for hug

trimmer&others - welcome to use the above. Yes had a nice time at Bognor. Went with my disabled friend as she can't drive. Weather very sunny. If I had known you were near I could have popped in for a cuppa

anyway off to bed as haven't been sleeping well recently. Says it all doesn't it. In bed 9.30 on a Friday night

thanks all xxxx

GettinTrimmer · 10/04/2010 09:17

PBM when you're on next, I've just had granary toast with marmite for breakfast (low GI), and I feel full! How are you in yourself?

Blondes e-mail is d e b b i e . b a t e s 2 @ n t l w o r l d . c o m. You are more than welcome to contact me if you want.

It has my rl name in it but I tend to not put anything that private on mn and if I want to have a moan about anyone I tend to do it in RL to friends.

I can't find my purse either at the moment Bebe, hoping it's in the car ...

I just have to pack another picnic, we are meeting some friends not seen for ages with their little toddler. Another easter egg is waiting for the dc.

I am wearing a pair of 3/4 length summer trousers (size 14), there is only a very slight muffin top overhang, compared to last year, it's going well!

bebejones · 10/04/2010 10:35

Have had pancakes with banana for breakfast, a bit naughty but I really fancied it & have hardly eaten for the last 2 days!

Trimmer - found my purse this morning behind the sofa cushions!

I can get into my Gap jeans! They say 18 but are way smaller than any other size 18 trousers I own & smaller than the size 16 pair of jeans I am currently wearing! Will have to try on some size 14 jeans next time I'm out shopping! Woohoo!

DH is in the doghouse this morning. He went out after work last night & said he'd be home by 9 at the latest. At 10.25 he txt to say he was just leaving. I went to bed & he woke me up coming in at 1.30am!! I am not impressed. Plus he deserves to be far more hungover than he actually is! MEN!!

Sorry to moan!

Feeling quite upbeat generally today though. It is beautiful here but DD is still slightly spotty with a few big ones not scabbed over so don't think I can risk taking her anywhere! Garden needs serious attention (sceduled for next weekend) so can't even go outside to play! Will have to think of something fun to do that will count towards exercise! I do have to go to Tesco to...YUK! Definately not fun!

Trim thanks for the name of that book im going to hav a look for it, i just think i need to refocus with a bit of a guide & what iv heard (on here) bout the GI diet it sounds super healthy i need a bit of health! im feeling much better iv a week off from hosp/dressings/having my backside out cause my wound closed on the outside altho still not healed from the inside but the nurse decided not to send me back 'under the knife' as im having all my tests done next wk anyways & he'l have me asleep so he can just do it then... am very happy to hav the break cause im jus fed up of it! But my stupid coil "fell" out two days ago only n a yr so big waste of money dont think it really agreed with me but is a great contraceptive altho dont actually need anything presently what with the neighbourhood being a medical purposes only zone!!

Fruitgum, do you do SW meetings or just do it online? I found that chatting to this bunch has really helped me stick to the diet (I'm not doing SW but have in past & DH is about to start it again)

Bebe. Do you always have soup as one/both meals or just as feeling poorly?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 10/04/2010 20:22

DD and I had a fab time yesterday, Knightsbridge to Harrods for a mooch, lunch at Wagamamas in Harvey Nicks then we shimmied along Sloane Street to the Kings Road where we had a good time in the shops. I love London, DH and I both had times in our lives we think of as our London years when we were just earning and living off the Kings road. Good times!!!!!

Not so good on the nosh front because having had chicken ramen, ( yum) when DD and I got home he took all of us out for dinner! This was lovely but hey ho! I will be good all weekend to try go counteract my excess noshing on Friday!

Good luck all for Monday's weigh in.
