None of the other threads quite fit the bill, so here goes: I want to lose 1 stone and get healthy.

Have tried lots of diets in the past so am going to be experimenting a bit I think, starting with some fairly generalised 'healthy eating', especially increasing my veg intake. And hopefully some exercise ...

Most of the Christmas treats are now scoffed, kids went back to school today, so I'm starting now and will get really serious once I have the chance to shop!

Hiya

Well I've nearly survived the weekend but DC's at grannies and DH working so I'm bored and want to eat! Not even the boys in lycra on Dancing on Ice are keeping my attention away from the fridge!

Today I've had:
Cornflakes
Banana
Apple
Grapes
Roll with chicken and tomato
Roast Chicken, potatos and veg
Loads of tea and juice

Weigh in tomorrow so we'll see how the weeks gone

swanriver · 17/01/2010 22:08

Supper was indeed
I bowl of mushroom soup (with bit of sour cream)
2 slices of unbuttered toast
water
2 bananas

don't feel hungry at all now - think it has taken a while to get to this point of not feeling bored and want to eat Curlycat, but it does follow as your brain adjusts to new habits.

Well done everyone holding strong!!!

Today was ok - had my usual Bfast and lunch and I knew I was having steamed salmon and stir fry veg pack with noodles for tea.

We had a bake sale at school for the earthquake appeal and it was sooooo hard not to eat some cakes - they looked delicious! I was good though and helped sell them rather than eat!

Thanks for the recipe - I might have a go at that (I have never made risotto in my life!)

I will weigh in tomorrow as battery on scales was dead this morning lol!

swanriver · 18/01/2010 22:54

I'm trying not to think too far ahead about how much I'm going to lose.
Tbh I'm finding that though I'm hungry before meals, I'm sort of being freed up to do other things than eat, between meals.
You do have to re-invent your leisure a bit!

I do feel much less tired after lunch and supper as result of eating enough but not too much. I have to think hard about second helpings rather than just automatically take them.

My husband said something useful - if you are going to have your evenng meal early, you have to go to bed early, or at 10pm you'll start feeling peckish again. Too true..

Food log
breakfast banana apricots
lunch small cereal bar, mushroom soup with cheese and pasta in it
supper goulash sauce with some meat, couscous, 2 helpings of broad beans
I banana
bowl of vegetable broth with husband later which I didn't really need...
drank water and tea all day

shortandsweet2 · 19/01/2010 07:11

tibni · 19/01/2010 14:41

Hello can I tag along too please?

I lost weight using food focus but it is creeping back on. Went to the gym and stood on their scales and could have cried.

Meeting up with my mate in March and I am determined to be in better shape.

Dh is very supportive but I have a severe ASD ds who is struggling at the moment so lots of difficult behaviour and not sleeping - last night I only got 2 hours and the night before 3.

I want to lose 1 stone, which takes me back to where I was.

I am tall and can hide weight quite well but I don't feel good about myself. I am still (just) fitting into my size 10 work clothes but they are tight and I am selecting the tops carefully to hide the lumps and bumps. Having lost weight I gave away all my size 12's so I have to lose this weight!

Hope you don't mind me tagging along and well done on all your weight loss so far.

shortandsweet2 · 19/01/2010 15:30

Hi tibni and welcome. Poor you and DS, it can't be easy getting very little sleep and then going to work.

Egg glad you like the shortened version

Bobbybee · 19/01/2010 16:07

I'm still here but I've had a sick family and have been ill myself.
Although I haven't overeaten (even being ill doesn't make me lose my apetite! ) I've hardly moved so I'm not expecting any weight loss this week.

I'll get back to logging tomorrow as we're all recovered now.

JHKE · 19/01/2010 17:29

I think I may join this one.. Weighed myself last thursday and was 10st 6lbs. I'm 5ft 1in so am overweight. I want to lose 2 stone at least.

Today

Breakfast - 2 Slices of toast
Lunch - Tuna and cucumber Sandwich, Half bag mini cheddars, pickled onions and little box of raisins.
Dinner - Just ordered pizza

TheHappyCamper · 19/01/2010 17:35

Well done curly that's fantastic weight loss!

Welcome to tibni - very hard to diet when sleep deprived! Good Luck.

Well, I weighed in this morning. Another one lb off, so that's 4 lbs since Jan 1st. I am happy so far .

Today was grilled chicken breast, boiled pots, carrots, cauli, brocolli, stuffing and half a small yorkshire pudding with gravy for tea. All very healthy!

Repeat all together girls "We can do this!"

swanriver · 19/01/2010 19:56

Tibni - you sound v. thin already
Welcome JHKE, and well done Happy Camper with 4Ibs in just over two weeks wow!
Bobbybee hope you feel better soon.

Loads of walking today so I had a piece of bread and 4 squares of dark choc at teatime.
Supper was Irish stew (lite) unbuttered, and broad beans (unbuttered) and then bowl of forest fruits with yoghurt cream and sugar.
Still feel hungry-ish though
It's the weather.

eggandsoldiers · 19/01/2010 22:40

I finished my day with a glass of wine, some dh made fat free pad thai which is so so yummy and guilt free as mostly veg and spices, I had about five homemade low fat wedges from the dc's tea

I might stop weighing myself as the hypno woman says not to do this, so instead I might report each week how easy or not my size 14 boden pull ons are to get on . At the moment they are a bit of a wriggle, so I am hoping that by Friday they are skimming over my hips and soon I will be wriggling into the size 12 in their pull ons (sorry if that is a bit sad, it should be something a bit more glamorous like Chloe jeans but boden pull ons are the reality of my life...
