None of the other threads quite fit the bill, so here goes: I want to lose 1 stone and get healthy.

Have tried lots of diets in the past so am going to be experimenting a bit I think, starting with some fairly generalised 'healthy eating', especially increasing my veg intake. And hopefully some exercise ...

Most of the Christmas treats are now scoffed, kids went back to school today, so I'm starting now and will get really serious once I have the chance to shop!

Aliens have been tampering with our scales Short and Sweet
I am the same as last week, I think, 74 kg.
I was 76 kg in January and more in November, so I am still doing well...but I detect that I am runniing of missionary zeal.

I've established lots of good new habits, now see cereal at bedtime as aberration not norm, enjoying swimming etc. The weight may not shift further here, but at least I won't continue putting it on, feeling sluggish etc.

Cheers everyone

TrickyTeenagersMum · 12/02/2010 11:29

tibni · 12/02/2010 20:39

Ds has had a great day thank you. This is the first birthday that he has actually understood that it is his birthday and I wasn't sure he would ever understand so it is extra special.

Diet wise, well what can I say Mcdonalds and birthday cake but hey I only had fries and a thin slice of cake. I resisted the choc muffin and have been ok for the rest of the day.

Right now my sitting room is overtaken with a blow up ball pit in the shape of a car - its enormous, as big as ds bed.

It has been a lovely day but im shattered.

eggandsoldiers · 12/02/2010 22:43

ooh swan that is quite fun we are around the same weight, we can egg each other on down woods of course, spelling extra bad tongiht re oblig wine as Friday

shortandsweet2 · 13/02/2010 10:07

Morning all

Tib glad your son had a great day

Egg I am in Brighton.

tibni · 13/02/2010 12:22

eggandsolidiers - we didn't have an organised party, just family and friends and generally taking over the place!

We usually have swimming parties for ds but he moved from mainstream to special school last Easter and it is impossible to do the same type of party now - its not that I wouldn't and I could get lots of help but there is a different culture in his SEN school and parents just will not take to parties. I did send party bags in for all his classmates.

I live in Staffordshire

CwtchyMama · 13/02/2010 15:21

Well i have out 2lb on this week,i am so pissed with myself because i knew i shouldnt have been eating half of what i was.

We are going round to our friends tonight for a chinese banquet so i writing today off & starting again tomorrow.

Good luck everyone.

TrickyTeenagersMum · 13/02/2010 15:36

Hey Swan and Egg I'm about the same weight as you guys, will join in the egging on. How tall are you? (!)
Yesterday - followed on with

half a Jacob's club biscuit (how's that for restaint - dh had the other half)
packet Quavers (83 calories it says on the packet so practically diet food)
apple juice carton
Fresh ravioli with hm tomato and veg sauce

Tricky teenager came in with HUGE galaxy bar to watch Silent Witness with us and I didn't have any. And in fact told him off for buying it (tho he is rake thin, it's so unfair)

I need to go somewhere with scales to find out how the actual loss is going, but am feeling a bit less squashed in my clothes, I think.
Go for it girls!

TheHappyCamper · 14/02/2010 09:21

morning ladies

Well done to everyone still tryng hard. It will be so worth it when we see ourselves in our summer dresses/bikinis/shorts !

Imanaged to get fuly back on track after last weekends poor showing. Yesterday I had:

B 2 toast wth peanut butter
L roast chicken sandwich with salad and 4 of DP's chips!
D chicken fahitas but I was full after 1! I always used to eat 2 or maybe 3!

I am expecting another 1 or 2 lb loss by tomorrow

Oh and I have bought him some sugar-free cola bottles for V day in case he eats them all today! Now that's dedication!

ps. 6 days till wedding dress shopping!

eggandsoldiers · 14/02/2010 18:26

hi all, i;ve got a d and v bug, which is horrid, so not going to be posting her for a bit
Hope to back soon
Egg

tibni · 14/02/2010 19:49

Oh egg - hope you are feeling better soon.

TheHappyCamper - well done for getting back on track. You must be getting very excited about dress shopping.

I am doing ok. I too am found that I am satisfied with less food and seem to be eating more from hunger than because its there!

swanriver · 14/02/2010 21:55

Sorry you aren't feeling well Egg,
I've failed miserably over last few days, can't be bothered cooking veg etc etc/feeling poorly etc. Still lurking round 74kg I hope.

off till Sunday, no internet, hope to get lots of walking in, but there will be lots of potatoes etc, soda bread and fryups so dread to think what scales will show when I get home

I'm in West London, and Tricky I'm 5ft 10 (you wanted to know my height)

Happy Camper only six days! You will find you lose loads more coming up to wedding too, brides always do! And it's easy to squeeze into something which you are just wearing for one day, so don't worry if something seems slightly too small. I tried on sample size 12, and had it made up in size 14 which was my size, and always thought it a bit of pity because the 12 had been only a bit tight...and looked great (12 years ago though) sorry rambling on

no more mumsnet for 6 days is my excuse

shortandsweet2 · 15/02/2010 07:49

Swan are you Irish? I am and just wondering with all the Irish stew and soda bread

Egg hope you feel better soon I had it a few weeks ago and wasn't nice.

Like you swan I have been really crap this weekend but today is a new day and hopefully I can get back on track.

The plan:
B - Protein shake
L - Prawn salad with some crakers
D - Haven't decided yet - might do a spag bol

Hope you all have a good day.

shortandsweet2 · 16/02/2010 09:08

Morning all

TOday:
B - Protein shake
L - HM soup and rivita
D - Something with chicken

Hope you all have a good day.

tibni · 16/02/2010 15:01

Well I have had a greedy couple of days - no idea why but I have just felt so hungry - its usually linked to my cycle that I have a couple of days where I need to eat.

I am off to the gym later so I will work hard there and then have a lighter supper (to make up for the veggie chilli deli and fries at McDonalds - ds was at respite playscheme for a couple of hours so I took dd shopping then lunch)

Hope you are all ok

eggandsoldiers · 16/02/2010 20:07

Hi all
I am better today I had
Breakfast bacon and hm bread
Lunch two pieces of toast, with cheese
Supper, two pieces of pizza, spinach and two drop scones one with lemon and sugar

Lots of water, one coffee

How are you all doing?

shortandsweet2 · 17/02/2010 06:44

Glad you are feeling better egg. Its very quite here at the moment.

Today -
B - Porridge (ran out of juice for my protein shake)
L - HM soup, rivita and houmous
D - Quorn sausages, eggs and beans
S - Banana and satsumas

Yesterday I ended up having some dried fruit and nuts, HM pancakes and dinner was chicken kebabs.

Hope you all have a good day.

eggandsoldiers · 17/02/2010 21:40

hi shortandsweet, tis quiet probably due to half term
I have had a hard day today, we went up to the museums and gawd it was awful crowded and awful, never again at half term the dc's did not care for it too busy. We are happiest scooting around the parks or grubbing in the woods.

On the food front fairly good despite the stress
lots of water
B cottage cheese, grapefruit and half avocado
L Hm bread and cheese sandwich
S parsnip sw potatoe and cottage cheese
and two thirds of a abar of divine dark and mint choc in lieu of the buckets of stress, whinging for toys in the museum shops and general being jostled by crowds
no booze though

shortandsweet2 · 18/02/2010 06:41

Well done egg that sounds like a great day for food.

B - Porriage
L - HM soup, rivita and a wee salad of beetroot, coleslaw and tomatoes.
D - Don't know yet
S - Satsuma and grapes.
