Does anyone want to start WeightWatchers with me?

I hate jumping into new threads ... everyone has a head start and they aren't all excitable about it like new people.

I lost 2.5 stone a couple of years ago, using WeightWatchers, so I know it works. Unfortunately in the last 6 months, a stone of it has crept back on and I'm really NOT prepared to be fat again. I weighed myself today, and am (gosh) 13st 1lb.

My points allowance is 20, my first goal is 12 stone 8 lb - who's with me!?

IsThisNameTaken · 16/09/2009 18:37

Good luck Five!

Today has been:
toast and marmite (3.5)
small peice of french bread and salad and handful of pringles (3.5)
Half a kit kat (1.5)
Lasagne (7.5)
So total of 16, leaving me 2 for a small glass of wine with the lasagne.

p.s. am not counting the single choc button ds just shoved in my mouth. It was his last one and he insisted I have it - how could I refuse!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/09/2009 20:53

Just a quick one, 2lbs today tso 6lbs in 2 weeks.

kitkat9 · 16/09/2009 21:54

that's fantastic Five, well done! Are you pleased? I'd be thrilled.

Am done for the day and have to say I'm struggling to use all my points! Still have 1.5 left today and really don't want or need anything else today. So have 'banked' them. Was starting to snack on WW caramel wafers and WW carrot cakes which are yum and very low in points. Felt guilty about the lack of fruit in my diet so had a box of raisins too...

With all my exercise so far this week have saved 16 points so far. I'm not intentionally trying to do this but at least if I have a curry or pizza with the dc's at the weekend I won't feel so bad.

see you all tomorrow

cilldara · 16/09/2009 22:07

Well done five! Silver seven for you next week if you keep going!

Doing fine here. I have been cooking a lot of veggie meals as you get a lot more grub for your points and DH likes a big plate of food.

Haven't been good on the exercise this week. I have one of those Davina DVDs ...must root it out and give it a go. Anyone use it? Once I sit down in the evenings after dinner I find it very difficult to get motivated to get up and get going again.

Saving up my points for wine at the weekend...really love it especially on a Friday night.

Great news Five, an inspiration to the rest of us!

SGM - hope your DD is not too poorly and gets well soon.

cilldara - I'm the same, if I don't exercise before about 4pm there is no chance of it happening at all!

Good start to the day for me - rice krispies and skimmed milk, yumm

Mithered · 17/09/2009 09:35

Right have just seen this thread and dropped DC at nursery for couple of hours. Checked online and my nearest meeting is today in 25 minutes so am going for it - wish me luck. Lost 3 stone a few years ago on WW and found it best weight loss plan for me. Have piled back on after having DC so need some motivation

IsThisNameTaken · 17/09/2009 09:40

Good luck Mithered!

Mithered · 17/09/2009 12:45

So I off I went to the meeting feeling all good about myself and that I have finally taken the first step and...the bloody meeting wasn't on in the church hall!
Stomped home feeling very pissed off with it all and when I checked properly it was in the other hall across the road.

Am very cross with myself but there is another meeting nearby at 6.30pm so I have warned DH he had better be home in time.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/09/2009 13:00

Thats a shame, heres hoping your DH is home on time.

Today I have had a chocolate tracker, smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, packet of WW crisps, 2 garlic and rosemary ryvitas (very good and only 1/2 point each) cream cheese and wafer thin ham, cherry tomatoes, red pepper and an apple for the grand total of 11 points, haveing a 7 point supper, chicken and thyme risotto so points left over for the party at the weekend. yay.

andirobobo · 17/09/2009 21:22

Hello - room for one more on the WW couch?

Well I will park my ample bum then on the arm!

Been a WW member off and on for years, quick trip over to SW which was ok as lost 16lbs, but all put back on now! I reckon I have lost the weight of three people over the years!

Got all my stuff and signed up to the monthly pass, so have an eating out guide and shopping guide thrown in for free!

Will plan my meals for over the weekend now and get the shopping in!

Mithered · 17/09/2009 21:30

Managed to get there and signed up for monthly pass but got times all wrong so had to get home for DC. Weighed in and was about what I thought so got 1 1/2 stone to lose.

Got the essentials pack but have already got all the stuff in it so going to take it back next week and swop for the recipe book.

5gomad - chicken and thyme risotto sounds good. Is that in the Delicious book?

Am also going back to couch potato to 5k and running again.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/09/2009 21:35

Mithered it was in the Italian recipe book.

cilldara · 17/09/2009 21:47

Good luck mithered and adirorobo.

Another good day here. No nibbling and got out on the bog with the dogs for a walk! I always feel so much better when I get out.

Made a huge pot of chickpea and chorizo soup for dinner tonight.. only 15 points in the whole pot which fed four of us very well. I used half the amount of chorizo I usually use and it tasted just as good.

Friday tomorrow...I have been saving my points for some nice wine...cannot wait.

Mithered, how did you find couch to 5k? I would love to give it a go but am so unfit and a bit creaky in the knees

Mithered · 17/09/2009 22:16

Cilldara thanks and will need it!
I first did couch p to 5 k a few months ago and managed it in the 9 weeks. I really couldn't run at all but by the end of it was really enjoying it. Unfortunately in more ways than one I went back to work after mat leave and found it difficult juggling everything.
I go once a week on treadmill now and can still run 25 mins so am pretty chuffed with that. Is much easier if you do a podcast or run to music imo as keeps you going.

There is a support thread here here

Mithered · 17/09/2009 22:17

Btw my first goal is 12 12lb and my points allowance is 21.

Bring it on!

kitkat9 · 18/09/2009 10:30

morning all

sneakily weighed myself this morning even though I'm meant to wait till Monday and I appear to have lost 2lbs - yippee! Am pretty chuffed.

Read a good article in this month's She magazine about how your state of mind affects your ability to lose weight - in essence, we have to think very positively and recognise that of course we're going to lose the weight we want to, instead of always assuming that it's too hard and you always find it difficult...have to say I have had a positive mindset this week and it seems to be working. I mean, why wouldn't we lose weight? We're all doing the best we can, and by joining WW it shows that we're raring to go!

My best friend and I resisted the temptation of wine and chinese food last night and instead had salad and her gorgeous home-made soup...twas yum and am feeling very virtous this morning

but will probably have a glass or two of wine over the weekend! have saved lots of points so feel entitled..

worked very hard at buggyfit yesterday, it's def helping!

bigTillyMint · 18/09/2009 11:58

There are two gorgeous cakes sitting on the table at work and they are calling to me, but I'm not listening!

Hope everyone else hears them and eats them up soon!

I have decided not to count this time
I know the foods i am not supposed to eat like the back of my hand and i have a big backup of lovely ww recipes (i think i own every ww cookbook that exists) from when i did it before. So i will cook ww recipes and have breakfasts and lunches that i know i can have

I just get so bogged down in the counting...it becomes a bit worryingly obsessive for me (i'm a bit like that naturally i think).
