Does anyone want to start WeightWatchers with me?

I hate jumping into new threads ... everyone has a head start and they aren't all excitable about it like new people.

I lost 2.5 stone a couple of years ago, using WeightWatchers, so I know it works. Unfortunately in the last 6 months, a stone of it has crept back on and I'm really NOT prepared to be fat again. I weighed myself today, and am (gosh) 13st 1lb.

My points allowance is 20, my first goal is 12 stone 8 lb - who's with me!?

Oh dear...my meeting got cancelled. SO upset I am pouring myself some mulled wine.

glasjam · 14/12/2009 22:58

Wow, only managed to put on half a pound. Thought I had done a lot more damage than that! Last weigh-in before Xmas this Thursday - would be glad if I could just lose that half pound again. HerMomminess - sorry your meeting got cancelled - what a pain but enjoy your mulled wine

tif, hope you manage to stay motivated as you've done REALLY well so far - "damage limitation" is going to be my mantra over the holidays - allows you to do SOME damage which I feel is going to be inevitable so I'll just try and enjoy it!

tiffanys · 28/12/2009 16:49

Hi all,

Its gone a bit quiet on here so thought i would post to see how everyoone is coping with the holidays so far.
It should have been my weigh day today but our meetings are off until the new year so weighed myself and says i have gained 1 pound. I will not be dissappointed if this is the case, am going to get back on it now until new years eve.

good luck everyone, heres hoping we are all haveing a good christmas and a great new year!

HerMomminess · 31/12/2009 16:48

Hi there. I always get a bit melancholic on New Year' s eve. This year so much to be grateful for:DD1 of course.

But I am at my biggest ever. No clothes fit. I hate seeing photos. I have just been eating my way through Christmas. Through the cold. Through sleepless nights.

I have joined the local gym. And went last week. Shocked to see myself. My shape. For the first time even embarrased in front of DH. Not doing much for love life.

Anyway. It has been quiet on this thread. Just needed to get it off my chest. WW worked in the past for me. But mainly cause I managed to do stacks of exercise.I know the emotional triggers that starts me eating. Then I can' t stop. And now feel so rubbsih about myself that I think at least eating makes me feel better...

God. How sad for new year' s eve.

Sorry.

See you in the new year.

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 31/12/2009 20:55

Her Mommieness - New Year NEW START.
You've done it before, you can do it again - This time last year I tipped the scales at nearly 20st, I now weigh in at just under 14st and its taken me 9 months so it can be done!!!

I hope you can find some positivity in tonights celebrations - joining the gym is the first step, a few small changes and you will be on your way, its what you make of it, sending you positive vibes xxx

HerMomminess · 01/01/2010 11:24

God bless you WWOW! And Happy new year. Saw in the bells while feeding DD...and it looks altogether better.

What a motivation you are!!

Bring on the scales

Baileysismyfriend · 02/01/2010 15:56

Happy New Year Ladies! - I used to be Jem27 but changed my name.

As you can see from my name change Christmas has been laden with calories. I am pretty sure I have put back on the 12 pounds I lost which is very bad but Im trying to look at it that at least I lost some and then gained rather than gained without losing any.

We still have lots of Christmas food about so Im writing off this weekend and Monday will be my first diet day for about a month.

I will weigh myself on Monday evening - gulp! - and will report back every Monday from then on.

I am going back to work after mat leave in April and am determined not to return as a fatty. I am bigger than I have ever been - I feel you pain HerMomminess!

HerMomminess · 02/01/2010 19:07

Oh JEm umm Baileys . I' m going back to work in March and feel the same. Used to be fit & slim. Now saggy fatty! 8 weeks for about 8 kilos totally unrealistic but half that would be nice.

Don' t think I can face the weigh in though.

Also: totally thought I would be able to shift it in my 6 'free' months at WW...how wronh was I

Shall we hang in there together?

Also have the prob of leftovers from Christmas but have got a pck of rice cakes&ryvitas...woo hoo!

Baileysismyfriend · 02/01/2010 20:23

Maybe we should set ourselves a target, how about to lose half a stone by the 25th January, that gives us three weeks, starting Monday?

HerMomminess · 02/01/2010 22:14

You' re on!

Now to eat the left over brownies before Monday polished off by the bottles of mulled wine (or Baileys)...

I' m set

Jokes aside-let' s do it.

Baileysismyfriend · 05/01/2010 11:19

Well I weighed myself last night and am now 12 stone 12. Again.

Im gutted as I got down to 12 stone 1 and now Im back where I was!

I really shouldnt have eaten so much and I only have myself to blame. I need to be much stricter and get this weight off, I want to lose two stone.

I want to lose two pounds this week, so will weigh myself next Monday and check in.

HerMomminess · 05/01/2010 22:04

I have started BLW...might mean I eat my own body weight in bananas/butternut squash...could only help size of my bum!!
Hang in therebailey
Can' t see myself making it to gym in this weather though...

Baileysismyfriend · 05/01/2010 22:13

I have been very good today, I find the first three days the worst, then after that the smugness of knowing Im on a diet helps me feel full!

I think Im a month behind you, my DS will be six months in Feb so will be following you in weaning very soon.

glasjam · 05/01/2010 23:18

Happy New Year everyone! Skulking back to this thread having weighed myself after the festivities - have gained about 5 pounds. Was going to put a sad face there but shan't because I enjoyed it! BUT it does mean that I have a LOT of work to do.

I lost 3 pounds in the last weigh-in before Xmas - was down to 12 stone 1 and a half and am now tipping the scales at 12 stone 5.5/6. Would love to lose half a stone by the end of January so might join Baileysismyfriend and HerMomminess in your challenge if they'll have me?! My first weigh-in of the New Year is this Thursday.

Oh and wickedwitchofwaterloo that's phenomenal weight loss - please stick with us as you're an inspiration!!

Baileysismyfriend · 06/01/2010 08:38

The more the merrier! I find losing weight in half stone chunks much less daunting.

glasjam · 07/01/2010 22:50

Right, went to weigh-in today and had only put on 1 and a half pounds - RESULT. Had lost my card so started the new year with a brand new one which feels right. 12 stone 3 and aiming to be 11 stone 12 by end of Jan.

HerMomminess · 08/01/2010 13:26

Hey there, Well done with damage limitation ladies. I still have to face the scales.

Baileys I think our LO' s are the same age but mine has started gnawing on food...and I' m letting her. HV was supportive.

However does mean my fibre/fruit//veg intake has already increased!

Pushed the pram round a frozen village yesterday. As we haven't hit freezing yet I am staying in today!

Baileysismyfriend · 08/01/2010 15:48

Oh I thought your LO was older than mine for some odd reason?? Im looking forward to starting weaning, he doesnt seem interested at all at the moment though, he has never cried for a feed either which no one believes until they spend the day with us...

I dont know where he gets it from, my DH and I have huuuuge appetites!

Well done glasjam, Im jealous and wish Id shown a bit more restraint over Christmas.

Im looking forward to being 11 stone something.

lilibet · 10/01/2010 11:21

Hello all,

I'm about to register for WW on line and the day I register becomes my weigh in day, so if you could chooose which day would you have as your weigh in day?

Thanks

glasjam · 11/01/2010 00:23

Hi Lilibet,

Well it really shouldn't matter but I always find it does

If you could possibly engineer it to be a Wednesday or a Thursday I think that's good. You can indulge on a Fri/Sat nite and then be sensible until your weigh-in. BUT on the other hand - your weight loss should be about a very long-term, permanent goal and if you pig-out a bit on a weekend and then weigh-in on a Monday then you have all week to put that right and a bit of leeway to indulge at the weekend.

At the end of the day.... it's night time

If you want to lose weight, 80% good 20% "bad" is going to work wherever your weigh-in falls in the week. You are not going to lose weight any more efficiently by having a weigh-in on a certain day.

Good luck with it all!

glasjam · 27/01/2010 10:16

helloooooooo! Anybody there?? Have we all fallen off the wagon or are we hanging out elsewhere??!

Baileysismyfriend · 27/01/2010 20:45

I had fallen off the wagon but am now firmly back on it!

Actually went to a WW class last night for the first time as I normally just do it at home and now weigh pretty much what I was at the start so am hoping Ill have more discipline as Ill be forking at a fiver a week to be weighed!

How are you getting on?

glasjam · 28/01/2010 00:33

Hi there fellow WW person!! Glad you are still here - phew I am not on my own. I've done alright - put on a bit over Xmas/New year - clawed it back and am now 12 stone and half a pound. I am so desperate to be 11 stone something but I was only a pound and a half off it nearly 6 weeks ago and am still not there. Think I may have put ON a pound this week (moving house AGAIN, comfort eating a go go!!) so might not go to weigh-in tommorrow.

I am a great believer that the £5 you spend MAKES you lose more weight because you begrudge spending so much money for standing on the scales (which we all do at home anyway) - it's a strange, non-sensical psychology! You HAVE to make it worth your while.

I wonder if it is just you and me Baileysismyfriend or are there others??

kdk · 02/02/2010 16:18

Hi all

I've lost 14.5lb so far since last August - put 3lb back over Xmas and new year - and got half a bloody pound to shift to get back to where I was - will it shift? will it heck! Weigh in tonight and know I'll have found another 1lb to keep it company as have been a bit lax this week (out for dinner twice and gave up counting on saturday after two glasses of champagne and two glasses of red - and that wasn't counting all the food . Oh well, back on the wagon for next week is all I can say.

glasjam · 04/02/2010 00:02

Hi kdk - see you can dismiss 14.5 Ib since August but that's a LOT of weight off your body - and you're still obviously in the zone to lose more cos you've joined this thread so bring it on. It's very quiet here, I sense that a lot of people are elsewhere. But I think a WW thread that goes beyond the 12 weeks that everyone seems to stick with it for (if they stick to it) is one worth its weight in gold!

Come back next weigh in and tell us how you got on and good luck!
