Does anyone want to start WeightWatchers with me?

I hate jumping into new threads ... everyone has a head start and they aren't all excitable about it like new people.

I lost 2.5 stone a couple of years ago, using WeightWatchers, so I know it works. Unfortunately in the last 6 months, a stone of it has crept back on and I'm really NOT prepared to be fat again. I weighed myself today, and am (gosh) 13st 1lb.

My points allowance is 20, my first goal is 12 stone 8 lb - who's with me!?

Wwow, thanks for the tips! I hadnt thought of buying the miniature versions, I will get those and sip it slowly.

Im off for a run this evening, havent ran for a long time so going with a friend and were going to take it slow, its handy it being dark in the evenings as then no one can see my sweaty face and wobbly bum

fuzzypeach · 18/11/2009 22:42

Hi, please can I join? I have done WW before a good few years ago and successfully lost weight, however I got a bit stuck in a rut with it, and 2 children later have put on 5 stone have beeen doing SW for the past year, but lost all motivation now and need to try something new.
Can anyone tell me if the plan has changed much in the last 5 years? I can't join a group til next tuesday, so any hints between now and then would be great.... what kins of things do you eat for meals etc...

Thanks

x

YanknCock · 18/11/2009 23:06

Hi, can I join you? I just signed up for WW online again today. I've done it before a few times over the last ten years, usually manage to lose about 1-2 stone before I give up and gain it all back and then some.

Have just had a baby, and he's 12 weeks old. The 29 pounds I gained over the pregnancy came off in two weeks, but I've definitely overindulged due to the breastfeeding and have managed to put a 1/2 stone back on. So in all........I need to lose about 7 stone. How depressing.

The upside is, while I'm exclusively breastfeeding I get a ridiculous number of points. This has to be manageable, doesn't it?

Okay. Things are desperate here. I am signing in from my holiday. Just saw pictures of myself and am MORTIFIED. Thought we would be having a warm holiday filled with salads.Yet we brought the Scottish weather with and I am eating myself out of the depression.

FEARING the weigh in in 2 weeks when we' re back.

Very disappointed with lack of self control.Totally realise my trigger for eating is because it makes me feel better.

Jem- how did the run go?

Even considering buying a home exercise equipm at huge cost to avoid facing public embarrasment of bum/red face.

Sorry. Had to moan. Of course DH says I' m lovely.

Also facing friends not seen for years at a wedding on SAturday...bring on further mortification and humiliation. I have never been this big.

glasjam · 19/11/2009 17:14

Try and enjoy your holiday HerMomminess. You want to do something about it and you are going to. You can't wave a magic wand and make it all melt away overnight but it will shift. Maybe see this as your last hurrah and enjoy the food and the holiday in the knowledge that you are going to radically change things when you get back. And then focus on seeing those friends next year looking fit and fab

Jem27 · 19/11/2009 21:15

Welcome and welcome.

The run was great, I really enjoyed it, had forgotton how good it feels to get some exercise. We are going to run twice a week now so Im hoping that will help the pounds come off.

HerMomminess - Emjoy the wedding and your holiday, everyone will know that youve recently had a baby so try not to worry about being bigger.

I really want to have lost two pounds this week and be 12 stone 0lbs. Ill post tomorrow evening with the results.

HerMomminess · 20/11/2009 07:52

Cheers everyone. And well done Jem. Bring on the holidays!

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 20/11/2009 19:18

I am thinking good things for you Jem!

HerMomminess - I echo what the others have said

shifted another 2.5lb this week, 1.5lb away from an overall loss of 5st

I bought a pair of skinny jeans in size 16 today, which might still sound big to some, but when I started this diet back in March, I was struggling to squeeze into a size 28!!

Jem27 · 20/11/2009 21:23

Well I weighed myself and I am 12 stone 1lb whic is a pound loss but not as much as I wanted - it never is though! I always feel like if Ive been good then anything less than half a stone off is too small an amount!

We are having dinner at friends tomorrow evening which will be laden with calories so I will be jumping back on the wagon on Sunday.

wwow - well done on the loss, 5st is seriously impressive!! Its lovely to get into smaller clothes, its so motivating!

glasjam · 20/11/2009 22:10

WWOW - that is amazing - 5 stone - you must feel sooo different. Congratulations and thanks for joining the thread, it's always good to have a bit of inspiration

And HerMomminess, I forgot that you only had a baby 3 months ago!! I am two and a half years down the line from having my last baby and am only just starting to shift it

And well done Jem for getting out there and running - glad you found a partner to do it with too.

I lost a half pound this week - I was really glad that I hadn't gained because for three days I ate between 38-45 points. I then reined it back in with 4 good days - phew!

I'm going to try and be extra good this week because I am 12 stone 4 now and want to get down to 11 stone 13 in the next 4 weeks.

Good luck to everyone!

Rialentless · 21/11/2009 00:25

fantastic progress wickedwitchofwaterloo, well done. I have similar to lose. Currently SW but can't decide if I am losing the faith or not. Have been lurking here for a while, even got the books out, but still don't know what to do.

fuzzypeach · 21/11/2009 19:13

thanks for the welcomes.

ria - i recognise you from the sw thread....i have not been on there for a while, hence my decision to give ww a go!!

i have not managed to get hold of any books etc yet before i join on tuesday, did have some old books & points calculator in the loft but dh says he cant find them up there and im too fat to go up there myself, scared i might come through the cieling!!!! so i have not been very good at all, and going to a christening tomorrow. Think I will make tomorrow my last day or indulgence, then on Monday just eat a couple of the pointed ready meals before i get all the info at the meeting on tues.

Have seen in the magazine a points clicker, and calculator - would anyone recommend either of these products? And out of the recipe books which would you suggest I get?

Thanks x

Jem27 · 22/11/2009 14:15

Well have eaten loads over the weekend, Im going to steer well clear of the scales until Friday and see if I can diet away some of the damage during the week.

weblette · 22/11/2009 18:47

Hmm thinking about joining WW this week. Have done SW in the past but thought a change would be good.

How easy have you found it to follow?

badkitty · 22/11/2009 20:51

Hello, have just signed up to weightwatchers online today - currently having glass of wine and small piece of cake in celebration of starting tomorrow!!! Haven't read whole thread but would like to join please? I want to finally make an effort to lose my baby weight and fat tummy, DS1 was born last December but it has been a very traumatic year as he was very sick and has special needs so I have been quite depressed and just let myself go totally and been v unhealthy. Finally think I need to start sorting myself out in time for his first Christmas at home. I have my points calculator etc at the ready from when I did it a few years ago for my wedding, and have a lovely new top and slightly too tight jeans for Christmas Day that I want to get into!!

chocolatefondue · 23/11/2009 15:52

Sorry, have been away from the computer for a few days. I lost 1.5 lbs last Wednesday which I was really pleased about. Not sure how I will do this week, but have been to the gym today for the first time in months

fuzzypeach · 23/11/2009 18:28

I started myself today, and joining group tomorrow - so far I have had (including my tea) 18.5 points - i weigh 12st 5lbs, does anyone know how many points I would be allowed daily? I know last time I did it it depended on your weight? Just want to know if I have any left for a yoghurt later, or if I have already had too many!! Thanks

YanknCock · 23/11/2009 18:36

Did my first weigh-in today...holy crap, I lost 7lbs! First week on WW I always lose a lot, but never this much. Must be the breastfeeding. It's a hell of lot easier having 36 points to work with!

So my stats:
Start: 17st 11
Today: 17st 4
Goal: 10st 5

Good luck everyone....

Jem27 · 23/11/2009 22:08

Congratulations to those that have lost!

After a weekend of eating everything in sight, I have jumped firmly back on the wagon. I think Im meant to have 21 points a day - worked it out on a website - but am going to have 18 each day so I can have more food (and wine) at the weekend.

I have been for a run this evening, and am going to go twice more this week. Well I say run its more of a run and walk session, better than nothing I reckon though.

Im so keen to get under the 12 stone mark, it will really make me feel differently about myself. I am now 12 stone 2 I think, not sure if any fat is still to go on after all the food I ate at the weekend.

Ill weigh myself on Friday and let you know.

StrictlyBoogying · 23/11/2009 22:47

Hello! I lost 1.5 today but usually do better than that. Do you find that at certain times of the month you retain water and are a bit heavier? Also, I'd saved points for a meal out lat night and we ate really late. Could that have contributed?

YanknCock · 24/11/2009 00:02

Strictly, I definitely notice I retain water at certain times of the month. Nice thing is once that's over, I usually have a bigger loss the following week.

A big meal the night before does affect your weigh-in, at least IME. My strategy is usually to have my big indulging night on weigh-in day, so I've already weighed in and have a week to make up for it!

Even so 1.5lbs is good for a week, especially if you had a big meal last night.

StrictlyBoogying · 24/11/2009 12:52

Thanks Yank (love your name!) that makes me feel better! I'm being extra good this week...lots of zero point soup and raw carrots. I've got 1.5lbs to go and I'll have lost 2 stone. Still about 4 to go!
