Hey Sazzles hope you don't mind the nameheck but you are our inspiration [crawly bumlick]

dizzycringles · 07/12/2009 12:24

no gym again she phoned at the time she was due to collect me to say she was only just up as her wee man has what she thinks is the flu

I was seriously tempted to go myself but I need her there for the introducing a friend promo

pancakes for brekker but I have power walked round the shops, although I met a girl from work who has lost 5.5 stone

SazzlesOnASled · 07/12/2009 13:25

+3 again here. Is becoming a far too regular Monday story

However, back to it grapefruit for brekker, one slice of toast & mackerel pate plus apple for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet as DH away, but probably a small jacket potato

I too was unaware of stovies until enlightened by our Scottish hosts. The DD's love it but i do have to mix some baked beans in for them. Please don't tell Dizz of this heinous crime

Also LOL'ing here about crisp garnish, but i fear i opted for the crisp side salad at the weekend

dizz you could go there, hang around outside the door and nab someone on their way in like a nutter and persuade them to be your friend for an hour

I also know someone who has just lost 5.5 stone in 4 months (on lighter life). My conventional way has taken 7 months for 3 stone. Ho hum

dizzycringles · 07/12/2009 13:54

lighter life is a gerat quick fix option wit the thrown in group counselling but its bloody expensive and can all go horribly wrong when you start introducing food again - you're doing great Sazz AND you're doing it the right way too

and there are no set rules for stovies seeing as the theory was to use up leftovers - we all have those pesky left over tins of beans hanging about don't we

hotterpotter · 07/12/2009 18:59

Agree with you Dizz that slow and steady with real food is much more maintainable than meal replacement, and anyway Sazz 3 stone is an AMAZING achievement however you have done it

Pommes dauphinoise for tea here but man oh man it was delicious, and as I only had half a chicken sandwich for lunch perhaps not too diet-breaky. Hoping to get on the bike but not sure how my back will feel about that.

Oh I'm sorry you didn't get your session dizzy. Hopefully over the next couple of days?

I'm cooking for one tonight as well Sazzles, have to say I LOVE it, I will have whatever snack I fancy and I won't have to cook an actual MEAL and cater to everyone else's preferences. Poached egg & toast for ds2 then him off to bath and bed and for me either smoked salmon & soda bread or scrambled eggs on toast and lots of green salad & a litre of water, all consumed at 9pm instead of 7 and in front of television. BLISS! I'm sure when I'm old & lonely I'll be dying for a family to cook for and the headachey buzz of supper at the kitchen table, but tonight, Matthew, I'm going to be ALONE.

VintageGardenia · 07/12/2009 19:04

I agree. 3 stone is - I don't think it is an exaggeration? - a life-changing weight loss. It is truly superb.

SazzlesOnASled · 07/12/2009 19:24

LOL, no spare tins of beans are ever deemed pesky in this house. Gold dust maybe

Thanks Hots & VG, i know we are all doing it 'properly' but i do so yearn for a quick fix sometimes

VG your supper sounds lovely. No JP in the oven so i guess i will just pick at what i fancy. I think a boiled egg and soldiers might be the favoured option

cyteen · 07/12/2009 19:28

Last week was a backslider's dream after keeping my appetite low post-virus, oh well. I really just came on to say how much I'm looking forward to having some time to exercise next week, and to suggest a title for the next installment since we're perilously close to 1000. How about: Aug 08 Hot Mamas - Everybody was ExerSazzin', their thighs no longer flabbin'...

SazzlesOnASled · 08/12/2009 11:51

Hello Cyteen - lovely to have you back and looking forward to a pre Xmas exercise spurt. I fear we could all do with a bit of a kick up the arse encouragement and you are the right HotMama for the job . Are you still doing your couch to 5k thing?

Just cycled 25k (43 mins) and then did a 15 minute torture abs fast class. Couldn't run as when i investigated my poorly little toe from last weeks run, i found it was actually one big blister. So that was lanced and patched up so cycling was the best option!

SazzlesOnASled · 08/12/2009 11:53

Oh, and loving the new title. Anytime you want to be thread master, please go ahead

hotterpotter · 09/12/2009 19:02

Four Roses chocs today and only 0.5 ExerSazzes so far this week after only 2 or 3 last week, really need to sort myself out for the next 10 days before I go on a Christmas sabbatical. Hoping to do bike tonight and will need to fit in exercise wherever I can in case I just start driving everywhere

OP posts:
SazzlesOnASled · 09/12/2009 20:24

Hiya Hots, thought i had been deserted and you were all off chatting on another thread somewhere

I missed swimming this morning as DD2 poorly but have the creche booked tomorrow and Friday, so not too bad.
Tummy muscles are complaining about the fast class yesterday so i must have done some good

What are all our thoughts re Xmas. I see Hots is taking a sabbatical from the 19th for an undisclosed length of time

I am going to continue to be very good and just enjoy nice meals when they come up - My work Xmas do, neighbours do, Xmas day and NEw Years Eve. Other than those days i will be as good as possible and limit crap snacking as i really don't want to undo all the good work. Not sure what will happen to ExerSazz yet, but with DH at home i should have some chance of at least a few swims. Time will tell

hotterpotter · 09/12/2009 21:34

I will not be undoing all the good work I have done over the last however many months we have been doing this, but I went out at lunchtime and the lovely food smells were almost overwhelming and I will find it a lot harder to be so good when I am at home for 2.5 weeks (yippeee ) I guess I can take cheer from the fact that I didn't completely succumb to temptation today (apart from the chocs) but returned to the office and my salad.

Anyway I won't have enough money for petrol and cake plus lots of lovely walks in proper countryside will burn off a few of those pigs in blankets

15 miles tonight in 40.17 so am chuffed with that.

When is your 10k run VG? It must be imminent

OP posts:
SazzlesOnASled · 10/12/2009 10:10

Good work on the cycling Hots

Just run 7k, 15 mins powerplate and 50 sit-ups

VintageGardenia · 11/12/2009 08:15

Well done guys for all your exerSazz. I am desperate to get out for a run but even if it weren't everything else at the moment they have a thing in the gym creche at the moment that if you have any coldy symptoms you can't go in & ds is smothered. Swine flu precaution.

My race is at 10 tomorrow. I absolutely know in my heart I am not going to be able to do it because I am going to be either collecting my mum from hos today, having her to stay the night & driving her down home tomorrow morning, or else collecting her in the morning & driving her home in the afternoon or evening. My sister doesn't drive & my brother lives in another county & my other 2 brothers in UK so has to be me. (I mean of course I am very happy to help her but I have been planning this for weeks and weeks and weeks.)

I have even looked up other ones e.g. www.cupidsdash.ie/

I haven't even run 10K yet but I know I can do it.

hotterpotter · 11/12/2009 08:38

Oh VG that is a bugger . Is there no way you can pick her up today and leave her settled in front of the fire tomorrow while you do the run?

Have not been good with ExerSazzing this week either, there just don't seem to be enough hours in a day but when I'm working I get home just before 6 so then we need to have tea, watch the end of CBeebies, have a bedtime story, muck around for a bit, get DC to bed and it's already 8pm, then if I have tomorrow's tea prep to do or get distracted for 10 minutes on the internet then my chance has gone.

Oh well, it's my own fault then that I am back up 1.5lb this week thankfully still just the right side of 12 stone.

Got my swimming stuff for probably the last swim of the year so I'll make it a good one

OP posts:
dizzycringles · 11/12/2009 09:27

2lb up and nowhere near 12stone never mind the right side of it

working shifts is crap, I had my evening meal at 9pm last night, it was chicken hummous and tomato which I thought was ok but still not a great time for eating

have made a pot of homemade, no point soup this morning so will have a meal at lunch today and soup this evening instead

sorry not to catch up properly but between inlaws/shifts/cafe meetings am not sure where I'm meant to be from one minute to next

keep up good work all and very unMNly hugs aall round

hotterpotter · 11/12/2009 10:07

Yes but Dizzy I have been doing this for fecking ages now - 7 months - although since 2 October I have managed to lose the grand total of...1lb

Manly pat on the shoulder back at you

OP posts:
SazzlesOnASled · 11/12/2009 11:36

1/4lb off here, am focussing in the right direction thing but at this rate we'll be going to Barcelona for our retirement do's or DC's 21st birthday celebrations . Walked to and from preschool this morning (beautiful with the sunshine trying to break through the fog) and swimming this afternoon . I am really really going to try and have a better weekend and get a loss under my belt before christmas.
Talking of belts, i had to put another hole in mine. It is now 5 inches from where i used to do it up

Well done on making up the soup Dizz, having something with you is the best thing, otherwise snacking or bad canteen food choices take over at that time of night

VG - so, so sorry to hear you are going to miss your race . I too know that you could have done the 10k and as you say there will always be another one, and a good focus for the New YEar

dizzycringles · 11/12/2009 14:03

ROFL at Canteen - the police don't cater for those of us who work on shifts its all brought in by us or we run out and grab something if we need to

on that not better run!

SazzlesOnASled · 11/12/2009 19:03

Running is good

Swam 50 lengths this evening so 3 days of ExerSazz and 4 sessions (2 today) so pretty good

VG - any news on when MammaVG will be let out?

SazzlesOnASled · 12/12/2009 15:56
SazzlesOnASled · 13/12/2009 20:54

HELLLLOOOOO????

Anyone still here or was there a Hotmamas party i wasn't invited to missed and you are all revoering in some gutter somewhere?

Been better this weekend - porridge for brekker, salad/toast and phili for lunch and curry (homemade)/roast chix for dinner. Anything less than +3 and i will be happy tomorrow

VG you are exempt my dear as avoiding the hospital food and diverting via a takeaway joint is definitely sanctioned

How are the rest of you getting on? You have no such sanctions

Cyteen Is it this week you have off? Have you got the exercise you would like to do planned?

hotterpotter · 14/12/2009 07:55

Sorry Sazz was just mainly being over your size 10 jeans and comfort eating
