Yes booze is a disaster plain & simple innit? It will do me no harm to stay off till Christmas - or for three weeks anyway, and though I do have one Christmas party next Saturday it's actually one where I'm happy not to drink.

Feel awful this am v sluggish and heavy-limbed and headachey. Getting started on my water to wash all that away. Supermarket , running, school meeting are the highlights of my day when I actually need to be working, which is not great for me and is looking VERY dull for ds2!

Well done on getting on the bike when you didn't feel in the mood, pots.

hotterpotter · 24/11/2009 09:44

Whoa there VG, steady on, what's all this about no booze I just don't think I could do it. Not sure if that should worry me, that the thought of giving up booze, even for a few weeks, fills me with horror

As for the scales, well I think they must be playing tricks on me because it was Not Good News this morning and although I did have a few licks of icing last night I certainly haven't eaten that much...

Excellent Sazz on being back to Friday's weight .

Luckily DD has chosen something not too wicked for her birthday tea - not burger and chips but sausage, mash, carrots and broccoli although there will be ice cream for pudding...

I am going to be ok without drink for 3 weeks - possibly because I have had tons of it lately - think I will be ok.

Ran 7K in 44mins but I think I must have damaged my legs dancing in heels on Saturday night cos me inner thighs is aggers! Feeling all-over wrong today though.

Have drunk litre of water & am staring at another.

dizzy I was about to get a refund on an amazon trader delivery which took 6 weeks to arrive, it did finally & magically come though last week (and we have not had a postal strike).
Hope your knee ok Sazz have you a support? This is your old war wound? That's the bugger of running, the impact is so heavy (obviously not as heavy as it once was for us ).

dizzydixies · 24/11/2009 14:11

Sazz just checked and its due to be dispatched on the 26th so I'll manage to use the Wii board for this week again - am not cancelling as it £45 reduced to £13

well done on the running VG - I have to admit I HATE running and when I used to do it at uni the Dr told me to take a look at myself and catch myself on - I wasn't designed to run and that was when I was gym/swim every day and weighed 10.5 stone

am considering joining the Curves gym but need to check the pennies before making any decisions

Well cake consumption was perhaps slightly excessive, but it was very delish, and Sazz you were wrong five three pieces did taste better than just one Have tempered the excess scoffing with another 14 miles and I almost enjoyed it tonight

Weetabix

Egg salad

A rather delicious invented salad by me: a ton of green salad, shoots etc with this on top of it: fillet steak sliced & marinated in teaspoon each of soy, rice wine, oyster sauce, stir fried with ginger & garlic & tipped out onto the salad with all the lovely juicy stuff as dressing. As ds2 would say, Mmmmmmmmm!

Too much coffee, plenty of water, a 7K run and about 5 jaffa cakes. (See how I slipped that one in...)

VintageGardenia · 25/11/2009 08:39

They have Curves here too, I know 2 people who joined and like the set-up. Do they have creches? If I couldn't leave ds2 for the hour it would just never work out for me.

dizzydixies · 25/11/2009 12:02

no VG not here, nobody here has a fecking creche

am needing to do some sort of excerise and considered Curves as a starting point - will give it some more thought, once I can find out how much it costs

fruit for brekker again and homemade soup for lunch - I did have popcorn at the cinema last night though - twas only a small one and no sweeties with it

VG its a 30minute workout 3 times a week which if I could organise myself is a possibility remind me of this next week when I'm back at work

hotterpotter · 25/11/2009 21:04

Dizz is there any way you could get on the Wii during the day, maybe while DDs are napping? I used to enjoy doing the step programme on the Wii fit, and the pretend jogging round the living room and you can definitely get out of breath doing it.

I have done biking again, 14 miles in 38.5 minutes so have already done 3x ExerSazz this week Ate really well all day, slightly undone by one small piece of cake tonight but that has been biked off and the cake is all gone so no more temptation.

VG your beefy salad has had me drooling/tummy rumbling all day!

Until we get Dizzy up to speed we three are pretty much doing a triathlon between us - VG running, Sazz swimming and me cycling . Just don't ask me to do them all myself

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 26/11/2009 13:39

LOL hadn't thought of the triathlon elements before but you are so right hots! So dizzy we need a rower, or something, there's a slot right there for you! Good news on the bike progress by you, you should be planning a cycling holiday for the spring now, with ds1 in a seat on teh back and dd maybe on a parent/child tandem?

Did a chicken version of the beef salad last night with mangetout and red pepper so basically stirfried chicken on salad rather than on rice/noodles. My current bag of salad is one of those ones with all those tough old bits of red stuff and bitter bits, yeuch. I have little gems and cos waiting in the drawer for tonight though.

I tell you. You could be doing ANYTHING this minute but instead you are reviewing the contents of my salad drawer. You are truly all blessed to have me on this thread.

Ooh I have had bistro-style salad today with loads of yummy shredded beetroot

I also had a mini epiphany at the leftover buffet - I had a bite of a chill cheese stick which I usually hoover up, but actually it wasn't all that nice so, instead of just eating it anyway, I threw it away

No ExerSazz today as I am too tired and going to bed v v early but will be swimming tomorrow to make the 4 for this week.

Well after several weeks of downs followed by ups on the scales I am relieved to report....no change

Obviously a loss would have been good but unlikely in a birthday week

Good luck ladies! Dizzy ooh your new scales might come today [exciting]

Way to go Sazz , especially on top of your big loss last week. At this rate you will be a whole stone ahead of me by next week!

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 27/11/2009 10:15

Scales arrived during the week ladies and this morning have confirmed that I have now lost 1 stone

new scales are fab as I can enter my weight and it will keep track - which was a reason I liked the Wii Fit to be honest (am all into the graphs!!!) Have confirmed with wii fit this morning and it weighed me as the same and DH also did it too - he's lost about half a stone

am also going to Curves with a friend on Monday morning to see what its like - have nothing to loose as its free till Jan although not that I'll have any time from Jan onwards as CM has given notice and am not likely to manage to get anyone new and sorted over christmas period

well done all else - esp Hots for chucking the chilli cheese stick I too haven't been finishing meals for the sake of it and decided NOT to order in a chinese last night even though it was what I was wanting

dizzydixies · 27/11/2009 10:16

off to have my fruit and yogurt for brekker now that I've weighed in
