Hello

My taste night at SW went fab! I made the SW quiche & it was delicious!

Our consultant had brought along a butcher who has went through the process of getting his ingredients poked through by those on high at SW and has made totally syn free mince, burgers at 2 syns each & sausages at only 2 syns each, and they're really huge thick sausages, even DH would eat.

I just bought the burgers though.

And something positive came out of me being poorly this week...I lost 4lb!! and got SOTW yay! Am so chuffed!

ConnieComplaint · 01/07/2009 23:24

P/W is mince

ProfYaffle · 02/07/2009 06:31

AM I adapted a mango fool recipe which is basically stew the gooseberries with sweetener (113g = 1 syn) and mix with low fat framage frais. You could add reduced fat creme fraiche (1.5 syns per tbsp) or a crumbled merangue nest (3 syns)

There's also a Crumble recipe, this topping is approx 17 syns for the whole recipe which serves 4, obviously you have to add on the syns for the gooseberries.

2oz wholemeal flour
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1oz low fat marg
1 level tbsp brown sugar

Mix flour and cinnamon together, rub in marg. Sprinkle over the fruit then sprinkle sugar over the top. Bake at gm 5 for 20 mins.

Rialentless · 02/07/2009 09:26

yay connie

crumble sounds nice, we should have gooseberries this year. But I am always a bit reluctant to use syns on food

I know this is no news to nearly everyone, but I had banana and strawberries with vanilla mullerlite for breakfast, and it was really quite nice (I HATE yogurt).

Connie - well done on the 4lbs and SOTW!! The butcher sounds good - we have one near our group which does the same, just a little expensive which is the only problem, good for bbqs though!

ConnieComplaint · 02/07/2009 12:30

Thanks all

Yes, this guy is expensive too at £1.98 for 2 burgers and £4.13 for 0.5lb of mince!

But when he's the only butcher in the small rural countryside doing it, I'm sure he'll do well at it.

That recipe sounds lovely Prof

AuntieMaggie · 02/07/2009 19:15

That recipe sounds fab - thanks Prof

I love the vanilla mullerlight - its so yummy!

I've been doing mix 2 max this week - am surprised how easy it was as when I previously was at sw I thought it was mega complicated.... and I've lost 2.5lbs

I need to lose about 4 stone in the next 3 weeks - think I gotta chance? Got a graduation to go to and someone my dp had a flirtation thing with will be there so gotta look good! I did ask for ideas but nobody replied to my thread

Rialentless · 02/07/2009 22:44

can you get hold of that Trinny & Suze book about dressing for your shape?

Go with what you have within and let your inner radiance shine out (and dazzle her senseless!) clothes to flatter and maximise your assets, accessorise to make a statement, minimal makeup to enhance your natural beauty, smell nice, eat healthy be healthy, and walk tall and proud.

What's involved in M2M?

And congrats on the 2.5lb!!!!

AuntieMaggie · 03/07/2009 09:19

You basically do the red and green thing but at different meals rather than days, can have all 4 HEs but anything outside your meals that isn't a superfree food is synned (which is ok for me because most things I snack on are fruit)

So I've been having either cereal or toast for breaksfast which is neutral, or a sausage sarnie, jacket potato and salad for lunch, and say steak and salad or something red for dinner. If I want potatoes with dinner too I have it as a HE.

One of the girls on the sparkly place that has lost loads swears by it so thought I'd give it a go. It sounds complicated when they first explain it but I sat down and read the book about it and it's a lot easier than you think.

And I have to say I have been a bit naughty this week so even with that I've managed to lose 2.5lbs on M2M.

AuntieMaggie · 03/07/2009 09:25

BTW ProfYaffle can I just say that I love you?! Thank you so much for pointing me in the direction of the forum - even though I only use it a bit I think it has really helped

AuntieMaggie · 03/07/2009 09:35

If anyone is interested in the M2M - there are a few threads on the sparkly place under FAQs.

The one I started comparing it to EE has a great explanation from one of the other members.

evansmummy · 03/07/2009 11:15

So I've only lost 1 1/2lb on my first week which i'm a bit about. But will keep persevering. I tend to M2M quite a lot, but didn't realise you could have all 4 HEs. Will re read my book. Can anyone tell me the weight for a HE of parmesan?

BigFunUnderTheSun · 03/07/2009 12:13

I am finding myself somewhat sneaking onto this thread! I am on SW and am pleased with my first week but today ate a few crisps. Had told myself i wouldn't eat any syns today as i used lots yesterday! I'm feeling guilty and hope i haven't ruined my weight loss for the week

Rialentless · 03/07/2009 14:26

evansmummy - my first week at class I didn't lose anything! They tell you to stick with it and you should see the rewards the second week, and it happens quite often.

a few crisps shouldn't harm (hope not anyway cos I had more than a few yesterday)

ProfYaffle · 03/07/2009 16:29

Awww shucks AM! Glad you found it's useful. I agree I had a phase of using it quite a lot when I first started SW, not been on there for ages now.

I'm having soooo much trouble sticking to the plan atm, think I've just reached that dieting fatigue stage iyswim. I've lost 1.5 stones but still have another stone to go. I do really like SW but it's major weaknesses for me are that it's difficult to eat away from home and difficult when you're feeling lazy as everything has to be cooked from scratch and sometimes (not very often) I just want to ding a WW ready meal.

I've given myself permission to have the weekend off, back in the saddle on Monday though.

tullytwo · 03/07/2009 17:11

evansmummy I think its 28g of parmesan as a HEA

fuzzypeach · 03/07/2009 17:46

1.5 is still good though evansmummy- better than nothing! i didnt lose much my first week, think it was 0.5lbs or something, but I lost 4lbs the second week, so stick with it!

Ive been realy good again today, until i got home. DH is working nights tonight so I left him a curry recipe to make for his lunch and some I could heat up for my tea, but I dont know what he did to it but it was bloody horible, nothing like when I make it!! So I ended up eating a fairy cake that DD1 made, and a small chocolate lolly that was left over from some treats I got her for being good

evansmummy · 03/07/2009 18:39

Thanks for the weight, and the encouragement. I will stick with it, I'm going on holiday in a week though, so my weight loss will prob have to go on hold for a while. Was hoping to have lost a bit more before we go but hey ho.

ProfYaffle, I know what you mean about the cooking everything from scratch. Some days just can't be bothered. How long have you been SWing for?

Having cream in my sauce tonight, can anyone tell me syn count for double cream please?

fuzzypeach · 03/07/2009 19:12

Cream, double/extra thick double, 1 level tbsp 3½
Cream, double/extra thick double, 142ml 35

ConnieComplaint · 03/07/2009 20:02

I just found my weigh-in record from when I did SW in 2006!!

I started at 11st 2lb in the September and got down to 10 stone 3lb by the following May. (8 months)

This year I started at 11st 11.5lb in January and have got down to 10st 7 by June (6 months) so I'm losing quicker this time, is that right?

The my records from then goes wayyyy offf... as follows:

2/5/06 10st 3lb

9/5/06 10st 3.5lb

23/5/06 10st 9.5lb (I gained 6.5lb on a weeks holiday!! This time I gained 1.5lb)

Two weeks later I lost 3lb and the next entry is 1 month later when I gained 7lb!

Anyway, I quit going on 30/11/06 when I weighed 10st 9lb.

So I'm lighter now than I was then... and my next goal is 10st 3lb as that's the lightest I was at the time!! Then it's all downhill from there for me

Does above not just show classic yoy yo dieter? Someone who cares sometimes but then doesn't give a shit!! Not this time

evansmummy · 03/07/2009 20:08

Thanks fuzzypeach.

TitsalinaBumsquash · 03/07/2009 20:15

Just showing my erm face so to speak, i am doing ok ,focusing on mainaining at the mom
ent, since i can't cook or prepare meals for another week.

Im doing ok, eating a lot of yoghurts and eggs and Laughing Cow sarnies

Im still not excersising a lot, i get really ill in the heat so im cooped up indoors a fair bit.

DS had his induction at primary school today, he was the only one out of about 30 kids that cried, i was gutted! Hes oon got into the swing of things though.

ProfYaffle · 03/07/2009 20:35

evansmummy - I think it's been about 4 months now. I was fine til the weather got hot and I didn't want to cook! I'm great with stews and soup, not so great with summer food I can never think of what to have.

Connie - that's really interesting, we have v similar weight goals. I'm always aiming for 10st! Feels like a long way off at the moment

ConnieComplaint · 03/07/2009 21:46

I've always wanted to be 9 something....

The very first time in my life I started to diet was when I had been married almost a year & the lady at the shop asked if it was a honeymoon baby... I wasn't even pg! I couldn't bring myself to tell her that.

Then I joined WW and weighed 10st 4lb. I slimmed right down to 7.5stone. Was far too thin at the time.... this goal is 8.5 & that's at the heavy end of my 'ideal weight'.

Anyway, after I lost the weight at WW the lady at the shop asked my sister if I had a boy or a girl..... she explained neither, I had just lost weight!! LOL
