Sorry tits - BIG HUGS NOT BUG HUGS!!! xx

grinningbee · 11/08/2009 08:42

Hope everything goes ok Tits. Ursula, it is bloody hard if you keep getting left on your own with the dc. I've had 90 minutes "off" since dd was born to go and get my hair cut. I don't think our other halves realise how draining it can be.

We tried the tuscan chicken recipe last night. Wow!! How yummy is that. It's in the quick and easy recipe book if anyone has it, if not I'll post it if anyone would like it. I just left out the mushrooms as dh is allergic to them.

In my book, any recipe with red wine in has to be good

ursulashipton · 11/08/2009 09:49

oops. bugger another 1lb on

am going to try much harder this week. Starting with a walk round the village this morning to go to the hairdressers to book an appointment (it's at the top of a hill). As DH has earned extra this week he can jolly well cough up for a haircut! I haven't been for over a year, and tried the "MNet" inbetween, but I fancy a new look (maybe that will help my mindset too, have used my facial scrub and face wash this morning, and radiance balm. Usually it's a scrun with a flannel)

hope everyone else has a better weigh-in.

had a passable nights sleep, Iwas in bed by 9pm with 2 co-codamol, and they didn't wear off til about 6am, so the pain factor was good, it's just I woke up every time DS1 went to the loo (about a million I think) and had 2 nightmares. Still, I feel better than most mornings.

ursulashipton · 11/08/2009 12:12

it's going well so far - just been for an hours walk and about to have left-over pilau rice for lunch

I love positive days

AuntieMaggie · 11/08/2009 12:36

Yay ursula - hope the rest of the day continues to be good for you. As for the 1lb on it will soon be gone!

Sometimes cooking extra SW friendly dinner so you can have it for lunch the next day helps me esp if it is yummy

Sorry to hear you aren't doing so well tits hope everything goes ok.

I'm doing ok. Been good so far this week. Now trying to decide between a hifi bar or potatoes with tea... hmm...

kmummy · 11/08/2009 20:31

Tits big hugs hun xx

We eat pretty much anything in this house, so any recipes that you can rec would be great, dont really want to try others if there not that good! I have my first weigh in on thursday, are there any books anyone would rec or are the recipes online ok, dont want to waste money on them if there no good! Had such a tempting day today 'friends BBQ!' made sure i had a red day and had lots of meat, who knew you could miss bread so much when eating a sausage! Then had a huge chicken salad for tea...not sure how eating so much meat can be good for me...im already prefering green days, as tend to feel 'lighter' during the day! Am off swimming with the kiddies tomorrow and for a long walk on thursday...hopefully ive doen enough! xx

ursulashipton · 11/08/2009 21:22

the jambalaya is good - I think the recipe is on the website. I made it with quorn sausage last time, which wasn't so good, might leave the quorn out when I make it at the weekend. I have a couple of books that are ok (free food and favourite meals I think, I have the food optimising book which isn't so good) the magazine is as good as anything TBH. Can you still get back-issues at class?

Tonights tea was more of a success than last night. We had the cheesy potato bake off the calendar (apart from DS1 poking at the onion), they are having the leftovers tomrrow with a tin of beans'n'sausage and bread and butter. I had bacon and cabbage with mine tonight, yum (they had sausage and peas) and cabbage leftovers to make bubble and squeak

I also made pastry to make sausage rolls for our planned picnic tomorrow (for the boys, fingers crossed for good weather) and I haven't tasted any

early bed on my painkillers again tonight. One plus of DH being away is I don't have to stay up and drink wine and eat crisps!

ursulashipton · 12/08/2009 09:29

walking into the next town over the fields to go to the beach today. lovely weather. have made SW friendly picnic

just a quicky though - how bad is chicken chow mein in satay sauce syn-wise? just for future reference

have a nice day!

grinningbee · 12/08/2009 17:15

Picnic sounds nice Ursula. Hope the weather was good!

According to Sw the ave chow mein portion is 11.5 syns. No idea on the satay though! Hope it was tasty

I made the pork patties last night, and they were really yummy! Good job really as it serves 4 so we have them again tonight!

I got on the scales this morning, which seem to be a bit temperamental. Got two different weights, so I'm going with the heavier one as my starting point. I'm hoping by this time next week I'll have shifted 1 or two of the 74 pounds I want gone. Or to put it another way, I need to lose 5 and a bit dds!

ursulashipton · 12/08/2009 22:13

best of 3 grinningbee! some and join us on the 5 stone plus thread, it's nice there (I've been there ages...)

haven't had chow mein yet, but am hopeful this week!

I have been perfect all day, just messed it up with a bag of sensations. Took us 1 1/2 hours to walk to the beach (carrying DS3 - 2- in the backpack). spent 5 hours there then walked back for about half an hour (pushing him) and Dh collected us from the carpark. Hopefully that will cancel out the sensationsshame really because my picnic was OK (didn't steal a sausage roll or anything), though I did have 2 tiny bites of DS2sice lolly.

FairLadyRantALot · 13/08/2009 12:28

oh, sorry to here about the bad times Aunty Maggy, Ursula and Tits are experiencing...hope things get better asap.

Had a very rubbish day yesterday, eatingwise, I mean....it was ys 5th Birthday, hohum...sort of back on track now...

grinningbee · 13/08/2009 12:38

So far today I have been very good.

Had fruit n fibre heb for brekky, and have just eaten an enormous bowl of fat free yoghurt with a load of chopped mango in.

However, I am so peed off I could happily munch through the packet of cookies that is in the cupboard, not to mention anything else I could get my mitts on.

I was supposed to go and see U2 next week. Trouble is, the website I ordered the tickets through for us and a couple of friends is a scam.

Joy.

I am so upset

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 13/08/2009 12:40

Well I've lost 6lbs since I started SW 4 weeks ago. I'm really pleased. I'm going camping next week though and I know I'll put some on. But I know when I get back I can get back on track and it will be OK.
