oh pooo - put 2 lbs on and I was really in a good mood today (the first time all week) and that's gone and ruined it!

Well done to everyone that lost though.

My sister had the injection and blew up like she was actually pregnant because of PCOS. I guess like all hormone related contraception it messes with your body which is why we put weight on.

Mind you, I put on 2 and a half stone when coming off the pill because of PCOS so I'd rather be on it at the mo. The things we women go through....

ConnieComplaint · 09/07/2009 22:32

Maggie - onwards & upwards.. should that be downwards??? That 2lb will come off next week with no probs!! Positive thinking You've done so weel so far, don't let 2lb gained get you in a bad mood!! Look at the bigger picture.

Prof - good, I thought you had went AWOL!!

I had not too bad a day today. Green Day. Am off work tomorrow & Monday so that might be a bit difficult, especially as we're going bowling tomorrow so that may involve lunch out! Hopefully a baked potato or something will be on offer

My sister give dd a bar of choc tonight, dd ate some of it & put the rest in the fridge..it's calling to me. Mint Aero, my favourite (Yeah, Nestle, I know... whatever)

Rialentless · 10/07/2009 21:10

I have no appetite today

I did lunch out (a very delish take away sandwich and cake) with Dsis when shopping, but I couldn't face fry-up for tea (I had a small bacon sarnie).

I am hungry-ish now, but don't fancy anything.

OP posts:
ConnieComplaint · 10/07/2009 22:08

I had lunch out today too Ria.

We took the kids bowling, then had lunch, then went to watch Ice Age 3! I had a great day I think the kids did too.. our 4 yr old beat us all bowling... I came 4th (there were just 4 of us though.......) ;)

My lunch/dinner (was after 3.30pm) was boiled potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, brocolli, chicken fillet (HEB) with 1 spoonful of gravy. (Am on a green day)

Same as Ria, I'm feeling a bit hungry now, but dunno what to have & can't be arsed making anything.

TitsalinaBumsquash · 11/07/2009 11:46

Anyone got a good Veggie Curry recipe they would like to share with moi?

AuntieMaggie · 11/07/2009 19:40

Been meaning to try this one:

2 butternut squash
2 oranges
2 lemons
2 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp mdium curry powder
1/2 tsp tumeric
1/2 tsp paprika
pinch of chilli powder
4 large handfuls of spinach
small handful of parsley

Fry the squash in frylight for 5-6 mins
stir in zest of oranges and lemons and garlic and fry til squash is sft
add spices with a couple of tbsps of water and heat gently
roughly chop parsley and stir into curry with spinach and serve

ConnieComplaint · 11/07/2009 19:45

How's everyone today?

I'm doing not too badly (I think!)

Had fruit for brekkie, free lunch then steak with potatoes for dinner.

Am feeling a leetle bit pissed off tbh.

My BIL called dh today to say they would be coming to visit tonight, (nothing new, they always pop in, we live just a few miles apart) but when they call on a Saturday night or we call on them the men usually have a few pints.

We had no beer in the house so I drove to the nearest town (Not far...about 8 miles away) & got in some beer, plus nibbles for the kiddies.

Then BIL call dh again, says my sis 'doesn't want to' come to our house, she wants to stay in on a Saturday night so would dh go to pub for a pint with BIL.

I shouldn't have said no, I never do, but I knew what would happen!! I would leave dh to pub, go pick him up, take BIL home too & end up sitting in sis's house til God knows what time....'cos it's OK for me to be out on a Sat night with 2 young kids, but not her.

I just told dh I'd drive him to pub but he says he doesn't want to go now

fuzzypeach · 11/07/2009 21:19

It's all gone downhill for me since the school dinner on weds.......but I have been good today, not holding out much hope for losing anything this week though, and my target was 3lbs, only 1 week now til Im a bridesmaid, and still 7lbs to lose first, not going to happen i think!!

AuntieMaggie · 11/07/2009 22:12

Fuzzy - if you stick to plan this week and be really good you may be able to have a good loss - remember some people lose 7lbs in their first week. Perhaps you could try success express or something? All is not lost girlie - you can do it you know you can! Also someone on the sparkly place mentioned a fast forward plan - haven't a clue what it is but could you ask someone about it at your group?

I'm feeling better thanks - have been really good today which is a miracle for me on a saturday! I had breakfast (shock) and no alcohol or naughty food despite DP mentioning both.

I have also decided I'm going to give the running plan a go that's in this months mag.

Got a graduation up north on monday so will be travelling and stuff so although I'll take some good stuff it's bound to get tricky somewhere! We're not coming back til weds morning so going to take hifi bars and fruit etc with me but might have to eat out at some point which is also a major weakness of mine!

However I found a gorgeous dress in evans which Imight have to wear with tights/leggings if the rain keeps up and had my hair done so am determined to enjoyit.

Rialentless · 12/07/2009 16:52

good advice from auntiemaggie. Rosemary Conly GI Jeans has a 2 week booster plan, the book claims people have lost 10lb in the 2 weeks (I think I managed 6 in the first week and then gave up), if you're interested I am happy to email a copy to you. But I suppose if you go to SW class it's not worth swapping about.

Gone to pot here (DH hasn't been paid for 3/4 weeks now, am a bit stressed about money - they seem to be messing him abotu in a big wasy "we'll get it sorted" is an empty promise I think. Also started my ADs again so not feeling on top form) AM thinking I won't weigh in this week, but will try hard and wait til nest week (if I've had a gain it might just push me off the wagon totally) Will see.

Where up north are you going AM?
connie, families are a pain sometimes aren't they?

I think my PC has a serious illness, so if I disappear it isn't necessarily because I've given up

OP posts:
TitsalinaBumsquash · 12/07/2009 19:07

I have put on like 3lbs i think, its time of the month here and i always gain wieght, to be fair i have been picking at naughty things all week, nothing major but i guess it all adds up.

I have 2 days untill WI to try and at least break even or get one of the gained lbs off! I think its will be a diet of rabbitt food for the next 2 days to try and do some damage limitation! ARGH!

fuzzypeach · 12/07/2009 21:29

thanks AM and Rialentless - I would love a copy please if its no trouble? lemonie_h @ hotmail.com without the spaces, thanks! worth a look!

hope your ok rialentless - sounds like your having a tough time - my dh got paid wrong as well, although he did get most of his wages, a big chunk was missing and we wont get it for another month, so struggling a bit here as i only earn pennies working PT..

Rialentless · 12/07/2009 22:09

have emailed you fuzzy.

OP posts:
ConnieComplaint · 12/07/2009 22:45

Ria It's a huge worry when DH's or indeed ourselves, don't get wages... I bet those higher up the chain would struggle without their wages if they were asked to go without!!! You'd think they would sort something out, especially when you have kiddies... My dh was self employed for about 12 years, but recently, due to the downward spiral in building work he had to get a different job - he is still owed thousands of pounds from one businessman, tbh we've more or less accepted that it's gone.

Tits - sometimes when you weigh mid week it can show a gain, which is why they recommend only weighing at the same time every week - though it's easier said than done! I jumped on MIL's scales today & nearly died when they showed I had gained 2lb... but I know I have been good & couldn't have, her scales are a bit crap & I never weighed on them before.

We had a BBQ today! I took a salad with me, a couple of pasta dishes & a large bowl of fruit salad, which seemed to go down well. As usual MIL cooked a mountain of food, which I tried very hard to stick to plain chicken as I know there were syns in the burgers & sausages! So I had a couple of kebabs & a chicken drumstick, with salad & pasta (EE day). I also ate the lot of the fruit salad myself, whilst the rest were guzzling down pimms!!

ConnieComplaint · 13/07/2009 12:47

Wonder what to make for dinner tonight? I have nothing much in fridge, will look freezer & come back for some mindblowing ideas.

I actuallt never cook, but I have the day off & dh is working... least I can od is make him some dinner, eh?

ProfYaffle · 13/07/2009 13:35

Aaargh, just typed a message and Mn crashed on me and I lost it. It seems to be going down all over the place at the moment.

Anyhoo, the general gist was:

  • I've got a cold, feeling yukky, not cooking
  • Got Mum staying for a week so lots of socialising going on

Overall, not good from a SW point of view!

MrsJamin · 13/07/2009 13:44

Password this week?

ConnieComplaint · 13/07/2009 14:28

P/word is still stock. Well, it works for me until Wednesday weigh-in.

Prof Yukky cold, not nice. But nice to have your mum down - I couldn't really cope with mine for a full week, but that's only because she insists on doing everything for me!!

Forget about SW for this week, enjoy your mum's visit

I have lifted lea mince beef out of the freezer for dinner tonight. Having an EE day & had tuna pasta for lunch followed by gooseberries & blueberries so will either have spag bol or potatoes & mince with carrots & onions for dinner.

Rialentless · 13/07/2009 15:31

have cold here too (plus Torchwood-induced paranoia )

feeling really rough.

it is hard Connie, DH was on incapacity benefit for a bout a year, then the powers that be said he wasn't unfit for work at all so had to get a job... he had 2 jopbs this time last year and is owed about 3 weeks from them. He had a spell of 3 months at xmas (which he did get paid for ), then before easter he was approached and promised this fantastic job if he set up the new kitchen etc...SO, he worked a lot more hours than his permitted 16, and having declared it lost all entitlement to benefit, but hasn't been paid for about 6 of those weeks, and the job didn't materialise, so it had been made doubly hard by not having the benefit coming in. when he finally gets it I expect we will have too much to eat for a day or two.

fuzzy, will take the book to my mums nd use her scanner!

OP posts:
fuzzypeach · 13/07/2009 19:50

Got no email Rialentless... or did I read that wrong? Thats awful about DH and incapacity benefits etc hope that he gets paid asap

Rialentless · 13/07/2009 20:12

OP posts:
ConnieComplaint · 14/07/2009 22:40

Crap. just stepped on the scales (and there's me telling people off for doing that!) and I seem to have gained 1/2lb!

Though my official sw weigh in is tomorrow night so will let you know how I get on...

AuntieMaggie · 15/07/2009 13:17

Hi all

So I'm back from graduation (not mine) having tried to stick to SW but not getting on very well so am sure I will have put on weight this week.

It is also star week, which is being a bit strange as the dress I bought for graduation at the weekend was a bit looser on me when I wore it yesterday - especially around the bust! But my bra doesn't seem any looser so am a bit as to what the hell is happening with my body!

I don't really seem to get a period most months on the pill I'm taking now, but some months it catches me unaware but after 18months of taking it I'm still not used to it!

Anyway, I've got nothing in to cook so have to go shopping after work and I've lost my shopping list!

Good luck fuzzy - am sure you can do it. I remember when dieting before and eating lots of salad, veg and fruit that I would end up weeing all the time which apparently was a good sign so hopefully that will help - though reading that back not sure how!
