sorry Kmummy, that came across wrong. From the advice I've seen for BF, make the most of the free foods available, and have the full 15 syns. My problem with it (the same as it is now TBH) was laziness/lack of time to prepare the free foods. I'm sure your consultant will know more though. Good luck

ursulashipton · 08/08/2009 13:53

FairLadyRantALot · 08/08/2009 14:35

ursula....that sounds good, too

So far another good day....we will have BBQ tonight...but should be fine....will stick with meat and fish and got some lovely flat mushrooms and lots of peppers that we will put on the grill

ursulashipton · 09/08/2009 15:34

not going well here

am planning ahead for tomorrow though!

AuntieMaggie · 09/08/2009 18:14

Feel poo and really down. Wokeup yesterday with a sore throat and bit of a cough, and although I'm feeling a bit better today just feel fed up and bored. Got loads to do round the house and garden but can't be bothered.

Am trying really hard to be good but I really want some chocolate. Not just any chocolate though - those cadbury's shots. I wasn't much of a sweet craver til I discovered them!

Have already had some crisps and an extra slice of bread as my syns today though!

ursulashipton · 09/08/2009 22:01

auntiemaggie. hope you feel better soon. at least you've counted your syns, that should give results.

DH has brought pizza home from work. no wonder I'm round...

Have made pasta salad for lunch tomorrow, and have a plan for tea. have made a potato gratin thing for Tuesday, DH and the boys can have sausage and haggis, and I'll have a HEB of bacon and some savoy cabbage.

Had an asda shop delivered today (my first ever online shop), and I'm skint now so will have to stick to plan!

MissShiraz · 10/08/2009 10:13

Hiya all,

Not sure how my week has been if i am honest! And i couldn't make weigh in last Tuesday!!

Drank wine nearly every evening with dp - however i've been very good food wise, and didnt drink anything last night or tonight and will not be using any syns to compensate!

Friday and Saturday we had a BBQ - Friday we had Tilapia Fillet and Spicy Lamb and red pepper kebabs with salad.

Saturday i did spicy homemdae beefburgers with mozzarella topping and King Prawn and Kebab Skewers.

Had chilli con carne on Thursday, Roast Beef and Veg on Wednesday. Last night i amde bolognese and just had a big bowl full on it's own. Will be having left overs from that with my lunch and Pork Chop and veg for dinner tonight.

I've had Grapefruit or Melon and Mullerlight for Brekkie every morning.

Fingers crossed for my weigh in tomorrow. Also got an interview tomorrow for a promotion at owrk - (although i'm on Maternity leave until April and really do not want to go back at all but keeping my options open - but i really cannot be bothered ) Don't even want to think about work atm, i'm enjoying time with Gabriel...

5 weeks on Weds night and we are flying out to Rhodes for a fortnight- cannot wait but could do with some fab losses before then.

Welcome to all newbies...and hope the rest of you are doing okay!

Gonna go and plan my meals for the rest of the week...

Becs xx

grinningbee · 10/08/2009 10:31

Hi all!

Well, have got a few recipe books for inspiration from ebay, and am off to do a shop today to make the grand start.

Dh fancies tuscan chicken tonight, and then pork patties with mango salsa tomorrow. So, provided my darling 18 week old behaves, that is what we will be eating! At least I can try to prepare stuff between feeds/naps/crying

Quick question as I have been out of the SW loop for a year - what are the best low fat sausages to get now? I used to buy some great ones in Morrisons, but now shop in Sainsbury or Asda as we moved.

ursulashipton · 10/08/2009 11:22

morning all.

have made a goos start to the day (but have wasted syns on a shortbread biscuits that I had first thing when I got up with DS3 at stupid o'clock as I needed to take painkillers. I could only find co-codamol so now I feel rough) Looks like I'm having another bout of sciatica, I just hope it's a quick and mild one, I last had it when DS2 was about the age DS3 is now and it was awful Looks like I'll be competing with DH though, hes done loads of sighing, moaning, stomping about and rubbing his shoulder, and he's only been up an hour.

have a great day.

kmummy · 10/08/2009 11:32

Glad most people havent noticed an effect on bf supply as desperatly want to shift this weight its getting me down hugely! And would like to be nice and slim when we start trying next year....!

So far i havent found it to bad, im missing my milk though, not sure i realised how much i drank/used before!!!!! I havent done any recipes yet...anyone know any quick and easy ones, with 3 kiddies i dont have alot of time to spend in the kitchen, but boiled potaoes and sald is already getting boring!!

Im praying i have a loss on thursday, we went out for dinner on sat, made sure i had meat and veg, but i havent gota a clue what they put in the gravy...didnt have any syns that day so hopefully that will take care of that!

MissShiraz · 10/08/2009 11:39

Grinning bee they sound delish! Enjoy , welcome and good luck.

Ursula HUGE HUGS!!!! xxxx

K Mummy i know what you mean about limited time, DS is 4.5 months and we tend to eat after 6pm when he's in bed!

Tuna Pasta Bake? Roast Joint and Veggies, Gammon Steak and Egg or Pineapple and Salad, Chilli Con Carne, Bolognese or Ratatouille i find are quite good as you can just leave them to simmer?

I love the Creamy Carbonara that's in the Saucey Secrets book, and i also love Chicken Kievs wrapped in bacon (i stuff with quark, garlic, chives and parmesan) then bang in the oven or on the barbie.

Hmmmn hope that helps x

AuntieMaggie · 10/08/2009 11:45

Thanks Ursula

Feel better physically today but mentally feel down again. I'm blaming it on star week.

Doc said my blood pressure was high when I saw him last week - not sure if that explains the rapid heart feeling or not. My heart beat feels a little fast today too. But I'm eating healthier and exercising so my blood pressure should be better not worse! Never had a problem before.

Also starting to wonder if something is subconsciously getting to me at work as everytime I've felt like this I've been at work. Haven't a clue what though! Maybe I should try to write a list!

Anyway, I'm doing EE today as I wanted potato with my salad for lunch and have ham I need to use up (Ursula I know what you mean about being skint - I'm stuck with what's in the house til payday!) but have already cheated by having 2 slices of toast for breakfast. What a waste of syns!

ursulashipton · 10/08/2009 13:35

do you ever suffer from anxiety auntmaggie? (sorry if that appears nosey, but when I'm having mild long-lasting panice, it's like a tight/fluttery feeling in my chest. It gets to be more "pounding" the more full-omn the aniety, and if I have a panic attack it's physically draining. Luckily I haven't had a really bad one for a while. It could tie-in with the work thig too?)

I have managed to get moving at least, but am not having any lunch as I feel as though it would come straight back up. I did have beans on toast for a late breakfats though. I might use my other HEB on alpens lights today. We are having carrot and mushroom pilau rice and aloo gobi for tea! I have never made either before, hope it isn't like slop. DS3 has just had a big bite out of the piece of fresh ginger!

what kind of things do you like to eat kmummy?

AuntieMaggie · 10/08/2009 14:58

I have suffered with anxiety in the past, and am on citalopram, but can't think why I would be suffering with it now and not with just that symtpom.

Did DS like the ginger?

My nephew is one of the fussiest eaters I know but he loves raw lemon!

TitsalinaBumsquash · 10/08/2009 15:02

God i am not doing great tbh. DS is likley to be going back into hospital for some i.v's and i have no one to look after ds2 as dp is on early shifts which he can't get out of.

I am still swimming when i can but have had a couple of take aways due to sheer exhaustion, i wont be at wi this week but hope to be next week.

ursulashipton · 10/08/2009 18:31

Tits, that sounds awful.

our tea was OK, not massively popular with the boys. I would make the pilau rice again (but next time cut the mushrooms a lot smaller) but I don'tthink I'll bother with the aloo gobi again.

DH got offered some extra work and has gone away for a couple of days, so I am feeling rather sorry for myself. How is it he gets to bugger off for nights away all the time and it's OK because it's to do with work, and I seem to be stuck here all the time.

Don't hold out much hope for WI tomorrow. I haven't tried very hard this week and I feel like a hippo.

ursulashipton · 10/08/2009 18:32

bickering and whining again. They are going to bed at 7 and I think I will too (though I'll regret it at 11 when I wake up and can't sleep any more)

MissShiraz · 10/08/2009 20:50

Oh Tits - bug hugs!

Ursula i know what you mean, i'm not looking forward to weigh in and dp is away atm too. He runs his own company so often has nights away. He's in Salisbury atm, back tomorrow and North Wales next week.

I so would love to get away for a couple of nights!

Kids have been in bed since 7pm - although Georgie is trying to sneak her way into my bed - had to put her back 3 times! I'd love the bed to myself tonight.

Right i'm off to get a Green Tea and watch The Street on BBC 1!

Good luck for tomorrow Ursula...thinking of you when i step on the scales! x
