TitsalinaBumsquash · 18/05/2009 20:42

They asked me what i wanted my name to be, i just said Squash as i cant even have BumSquash! Bloody cheek!

Good day for me today. I have done my shopping so im set for the week.

Im dreading my first weigh in tommorrow i swear i haven't lost anything. Im hoping for about 2lbs off per week so i will be nearly 2 stone lighter by my holiday.

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 20:44

Kid - Have you been a member for a while? I was looking in the new members just in last few weeks. I did spot someone from earlier though, was it you who originally linked to it on the old sw thread? I can't remember who it was.

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 20:45

Sorry but lol @ them not letting your say 'bum'!

kid · 18/05/2009 20:48

I have been a member for a while. I don't think I linked I linked it originally, I think I might have joined after seeing the earlier link though.

I have access to recipes

kid · 18/05/2009 20:51

It is funny that you couldn't be bumsquash. I can think of some far more offensive names!

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 20:54

Yes, I saw you on the 8 syn choc cake thread

fuzzypeach · 18/05/2009 20:54

This thread moves too quickly!!
I'm waiting to be approved for the sparkly place, but im not liking the sound of all the rules, so I might just read and run!!

Had another good day here - green
breakfast - weetabix & strawberries
lunch - tomato chilli & basil pasta
dinner - chicken stirfry (chicken as HE) with blue dragon black bean stir fry sauce (5.5 syns for whole sachet) veg & noodles then a strawberry mullerlight for pud.

I'm another one who has faffed around with losing weight - I joined last June, and initially lost a stone, then put most of it back on gradually by losing 1lb one week and putting on 2lbs the next etc... so I could have reached target by now for sure, instead of only losing 1st 5lbs from what I started, but nevermind!!

kid · 18/05/2009 21:00

lol, yeah that was me and that cake was great. I definately won't cook it for as long next time (if you can call 90 seconds long!)

My days food went like this

2 weetabix, semi skimmed milk, tea
4 ryvita, cottage cheese, apple, 2 satsumas
pasta n sauce (brocolli & cheese)
4 syns chocolate cake (used half ingredients)

Still time left for me to eat some more tonight but I am stocked up on muller lights.

fuzzypeach · 18/05/2009 21:02

also, can I just ask, i have been trying to buy duck breasts everywhere today and not one single supermarket seems to stock them near us (I have tried 4 different ones!!) and I used to buy them all the time a few years ago (I want them for a recipe Im making tomorrow night) did I miss out on some world wide duck breast banning or something?!!

Lilyloo · 18/05/2009 21:07

Also if anyone goes to pampered chef party. The stoneware is great for sw.
It's basically stone oven ware that you only oil for first couple of times. You don't wash them but you don't need any oil either. I have made chips , roasties etc without using any oil and they are really nice!

Fuzzy maybe try your local butcher , or market ?

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 21:08

I've bought them in tesco quite recently, I think I've seen them in Morrisons too. I'm not fond of duck (except the crispy kind, om nom nom) so don't really buy it.

ConnieComplaint · 18/05/2009 22:21

I'm back.

Managed to resist the birthday cake at my sister's house, and the mini muffins, and the bars of chocolate........

Then give in & had a packet of french fries there now! Bringing my syns up to 9 today, the most I've used in one day all week.

I know my weigh-in isn't until Wednesday but I fear I haven't lost anything. (This is where I would like the emoticon from sparkly central of the little guy hiding behind the sofa...........)

MamaG · 19/05/2009 10:04

Eek Weigh im day today.

Not feeling confident i must say but ho hum i shall plow on.

I was reading on the sdparkly place that a lot of the ladies find they loose more when following mainly Red days? Has anyone else found this? Apparently they claim its becuase of all the carbs that can be consumed on Green hinder wieght loss.

I was reading some of the posts on Sprakly United last night, i found myself momentarily drawn to a tciker and i was contemplating getting one. I had to shower after that i felt grubby.

Lilyloo · 19/05/2009 13:40

Oh well only 0.5 off

I think i have been doing too many EE and need to go back to alternate as i lost more last week doing that. Although AF is here so maybe that could hinder too ???

lunavix · 19/05/2009 13:59

MamaG - I think you have to live in certain areas, and be of a certain weight. I live in part of Berkshire, and round our way they only do the scheme in one tiny part of town which is deemed as 'deprived', i think you have to have bmi of 30 or maybe more, and it's only WW round here, not SW. I know some areas are different, but I'm just saying it's not the same everywhere

TitsalinaBumsquash · 19/05/2009 14:03

I am feeling rough.

I don't know if its SW related due to diet change but my upper abdomen is reall hard and sticking right out, i look several months pregnant.

MamaG · 19/05/2009 14:25

ProfYaffle · 19/05/2009 14:53

I've read that re red days being more effective on the sparkly place too, quite a lot of them don't rate EE either. I did have a week of red days to test the theory but stuffed it up shortly after with too much wine so the jury's still out!

ProfYaffle · 19/05/2009 15:00

Tits - I always find a change of diet messes up my digestion for a little while. If I eat too much bread now I get bloated.

MamaG · 19/05/2009 15:02

me too re bread

i never do red daysa s am a veggie but i lost 2stone 3lbs from october to feb doing just green - steady weight loss iykwim

OP posts:
kid · 19/05/2009 16:57

I prefer green days or EE days. I really struggle with red days as I hate salad and find it hard to think of meals that don't contain rice, couscous or pasta.

I always lose 4lb on my first week of EE. But, I never stick with it long enough to know how it works long term.
I don't know when to do my WI day. I wanted it to be Wednesday but Sunday seems quite a appealing as I can then WI in the morning and then relax a little bit with a glass or two of wine.

ProfYaffle · 19/05/2009 17:40

I love red days, don't eat salad though, mostly i try to do some 'interesting' veg like roasted pepper or leeks and stilton. I do EE at weekends to fit in with the family/eating out a bit more.

fuzzypeach · 19/05/2009 17:48

Im feeling very pleased with myself today - 4lbs off just goes to show what one whole week of sticking to the diet can do (been doing it for a year and think this is the only week ive not had at least one "day off"!!)

I also find that mainly red days gets a better loss, I think its to do with how many carbs I would have on green days maybe? I used to have mainly red but starting to get bored of it now so trying to alternate, plus we are also really skint at the mo and feeling the pinch when buying shed loads of meat every week!

Thanks for suggestions re duck, got it at the butchers in the end!
