New thread as old kept crashing mine and tits' PCs!

I'm not doing great.
I WI just to check my progress (big mistake) as since Monday, I haven't lost anything. I hate my scales, I am sure they are broken.

Because I was fed up that I haven't lost anything yet, I had extra food today No-one to blame but myself, but still annoyed anyway. Will still stick with it and see what happens.

5lbs! Well done Jen! And well done to Tits too!!

well, instead of being motivated by my 4lb loss this week, I ended up having a dominos last night, 2 doughnuts and a whole bag of those cadbury clusters (soooo nice!!) and I had an awful day at work today and came home ad finished off the last doughnut..oh well, try again tomorrow!!...

Lilyloo · 21/05/2009 21:36

Hi everyone Been on the Cambridge Diet for last week and half and will be coming off it in the next 2 weeks, once I've shed a few more pounds..Although it gives you a fast weigh loss, its not something you can stick to, to reach your goal, its unsociable, has side effects and the cravings are terrible. Will need to go onto a high protein diet and remember that the SW on the Red Days were just that.. I lost 3stone on it after I had my kids.. Sadly, since then. more has pilled on. But.. am now ready in Mind as well as Body to go again.

Ok, if I join you all? I'm nice.. honest

kid · 21/05/2009 23:52

of course you can join us Eternalflame, the more the merrier

ProfYaffle · 22/05/2009 06:35

Awww, Kid, you know it's a bad idea to weigh yourself mid week! Stick with it.

Welcome to EternalFlame and WasWondering, this thread's getting quite busy now isn't it? WW - can totally relate to that, I lost a load of weight after having dd2, she was bf and blw, as a result didn't each much solid food for the first year of her life and sucked all my fat out instead! Weighed myself when I started SW was very shocked to discover I'd put on 2.5 stone in a year, was v upset.

Lost another 1lb this week so 15lbs in total, 20lbs to go. Am pleased with the loss but it is taking such a long time!

TitsalinaBumsquash · 22/05/2009 07:37

The new 'Suprisingly Suculent' Quorn Burgers aren't bad, especialy if you have a bread roll (HE-B) with salad, gherkins and onions fried in Fry Light with it.

No idea about today, fruit for breakfast as per usual not even sure what day today, i have chicken thighs, Lamb mince and Quorn pieces and Quorn Bangers. Not sure what to have tbh. (How organised am i?!)

kid · 22/05/2009 08:03

I know I shouldn't weigh myself midweek but I just had to check
Well that should teach me not to be so nosey!

I was going to give in today and have something naughty for lunch, but I have decided that I will make a healthy lunch. No point in giving in so early. I am really struggling though

AuntieMaggie · 22/05/2009 09:52

Profyaffle - both when I'm stressed.

My job means that its quite reactive so I can't always plan when I'm going to be busy or working late so I end up reaching for junk and then when I get home I'm too tired to cook so reach for convenience.

I have had a lot going on family wise lately too and this also has the same effect. I think I need some kind of hypnosis or something to stop me doing it.

Losing a pound isn't bad - it may be coming off slowly but you're probably more likely to keep it off. Have you seen the size of those 2lb fat things that are at some of the groups? You've lost half of that which is a fair bit if you look at it like that it's just less noticeable because it comes off in different places.

Well done to everyone that has lost weight this week. I really need to stick to it this week as I'm back to the nurse on Friday to see how much I've lost and I want more vouchers.

The good thing is DP has now decided that he really needs to lose the weight that he's put on, so although he still won't come to class with me (even though his GP has offered him vouchers) it means he is being stricter with me when I fancy take away or something.

Do you know the silly thing though - I am more confident and comfortable with myself now than I was 3 stone lighter. AND us bigger girls had more male attention at the weekend than the skinny girls that I was away with.

Anyway, I need to find some ideas for lunches that don't involve tuna or prawns and don't take long to make. I also need to plan my eating to be as cheap as possible. So any ideas would be welcome!

dazmum · 22/05/2009 12:27

I maintained too - quite relieved and not surprised! Would love even a little loss next week though, can't bear the thought of getting into the down a pound, up half, maintain cycle that I had before - where you just get sick of seeing the same old numbers coming up on the scales. Just printed off a food diary to fill in, and very determined! Well done and good luck for the next week everyone!

katylou25 · 22/05/2009 12:43

Wahoo lost a pound!

Ds1 is coming our with chicken pox today tho - 1 spot this morning, loads now!! So got to face a half term stuck in the house - think I will have to be really organised with low syn stuff so I don't stuff my face as I go slowly insane while stuck inside 4 walls with 2 toddler boys!

ProfYaffle · 22/05/2009 13:05

Oh that's tough AM, SW does seem to hinge on cooking from scratch which makes grabbing convenient food quite hard. Do you have re-heating facilities at work? Taking in leftovers from the previous evening meal may be an idea. When I worked I used to keep a pack of Ryvita in my desk and a stash of WW tuna tins, not sure how many syns they are though. Do you have access to a fridge? Could you take in some supplies at the beginning of the week? Batch cooking at weekends and freeze portions for through the week?

Sorry - don't mean to lecture or teach my granny to suck eggs (have you tried sucked eggs for lunch btw?!) if you've tried all this stuff, I know it's not so easy when rl gets in the way.

I'm cool with my 1lb per week weight loss, I've lost over a stone now which is fab.

tbh I'm planning on continue to eat the SW way when I get to target so I don't feel like there's any rush to get there iyswim.

herbgarden · 22/05/2009 20:54

Oh my god I've just been approved to go onto the sparkly place but all those flippin' rules?!? What's all that about. Along with working out what I can actually eat everyday I might have to tell Dh that I can't go back to work in August from Mat leave as I'm far to busy getting slim /

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PrEuFA_WOc - this is a little something to lighten the SW day !

ConnieComplaint · 22/05/2009 21:50

Hello!

Welcome to all the new members

It's great to see this thread so busy!!

I asked my consultant about what I could possibly do whilst on holidays to help me maintain whilst away... you know what she said? "Do you really want to maintain..you're on holiday!"

Then came up with all the ideas I already had about taking pasta & packs of rice etc... with me!! (can you tell I'm not overly impressed with her?)

Prof, congrats on the lb!! Same as me

And can I admit that I must not have read the rules at the sparkly place..as I def would've remembered!!

annoyingdevil · 22/05/2009 22:19

3lbs off this week!!!! so 1/2 stone in two weeks. That's pretty impressive. I've been doing mainly red days, so think that's why I'm doing well. (definitely didn't lose this quickly before, and I think I did a lot more green).

Mind you, I didn't spend my time running after two boisterous under fives in those days.

tusker · 23/05/2009 00:56

done slimming world so many times lost some weight and then stopped i know its a great way of loosing weight cant go to class as i am working so need some motivation i have 7 stone to loose not much really help !!!!

dazmum · 23/05/2009 14:07

Fantastic progress Annoying, interesting what you say about losing more on red days, as I have more Green, and my loss is slow. I'll try more red days and see if it works.

I have just got approval for the sparkly place too, seems a friendly place, if a bit pink and flashing!

TitsalinaBumsquash · 23/05/2009 18:17

Not doing to badly today.

I had

Wheatabix for breakfast with fresh Raspberries and a sliced bannana.

Beans on WW toast for Lunch

Quorn Spag Bol for dinner.

I have done NO excersise today at all in fact i haven't changed out my pj's i have been cleaning becuase FIL is coming round tommorrow.

I have a busy day set building for my iminent preformace in our local drama group and i also have a long dress rehersal, i also have to squeeze in Lunch with FIL.

Red day tommorrow, i always find drama group hard as there is always so many biscuits and cake around!

Anyone got any tips of what to eat when im having a sweet craving?

Well done to all who are loosing and maintaining.

JennyPenny22 · 24/05/2009 10:48

Hello. Can anybody tell me the password for this week? I don't start my group till tuesday but I am doing my online shop now and want to check a few HE/syns etc.

Also, has anybody got the receipe for the cous cous cake? I want to make it this week as I NEED sweet stuff in the evening at the moment! BF is just making me crave chocolate so much!
Any other sweet receipes would be appriciated too!

And I am sure I saw a meatloaf receipe on here but can't find it now? Just want to order the ingredients!

ConnieComplaint · 24/05/2009 13:21

P/wprd this week is curry

Tits, looks like a good day yesterday!!

I had a bit of a wild day & ate a bit of naughty stuff... will work it off later

ProfYaffle · 24/05/2009 13:30

Jenny - here's the meatloaf recipe. I've seen the cous cous cake online somewhere but can't remember where, I'd imagine you can Google it pretty easily though.

500g minced lamb mixed with
3tsp dried mint
2tsp cumin
1tsp mint sauce
1tsp garlic granules
1tsp onion or celery salt

squidge together, shape into rugby ball shape, wrap in bacon and bake in the oven at gm5 for an hour. It can be served as is, or make up a basic tomato sauce, pour the fat off the meatloaf then pour the sauce over and return to the over for another 15 mins or so.

Had a good day yesterday. Having a dilemma today as I had planned on saving my syns til this evening for wine but forgot about needing gravy on my roast pots later, might do SW chips instead

ProfYaffle · 24/05/2009 13:34

Recipe is on this list afaik there is some debate about how this is synned, think the official line is that cous cous should be synned when used in this way.

JennyPenny22 · 24/05/2009 18:17

Thanks for that link Prof. That is VERY helpful! I will be working my way through them all! And Thanks for the meatloaf recipe - will be cooking it during the week.

I did try googling the couscous reciepe before I asked on here, but loads of different ones came up, and they were all very very different and didn't tell me the syn value.

JennyPenny22 · 24/05/2009 18:25

Asda online don't seem to have onion/celery salt - is it important do you think?
