New thread as old kept crashing mine and tits' PCs!

OP posts:
Lilyloo · 18/05/2009 13:20

i froze a curly wurly last night , lol took me so long to eat it i had jaw ache afterwards

dazmum · 18/05/2009 13:21

Forgot to say well done to jenk1 and madame Castafiore, keep going you will get there! It took me ages because I too messed about and cheated, should have done it in half the time! you both sound determined and that's half the battle, it's best to do this when your head's in the right place!

lunavix · 18/05/2009 13:23

dazmum - the weetabix is listed somewhere. Handbook, website?

lunavix · 18/05/2009 13:28

What I ate ALL last summer (lol) was the hartleys (new rowntrees?) ready made sugar free jelly (from memory half a syn or one a pot) with frozen muller light.

Peach mullerlight is very tasty frozen!

annoyingdevil · 18/05/2009 13:33

4lbs off last week, so that's pretty good. Had a blow out Sat night, so need to be really strict until Thurs weigh-in.

Going to try mustard chicken wrapped in parma ham tonight (from SW website) (red again as DP doesn't like green - carnivore men eh!).

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 14:35

I'm amazed how busy this thread is!

Jenk1 - the sparkly place is a SW support board, Snorris linked to it further down. It's v useful but ticker central. Quite a few of us from this thread are on there and have been doing so we know who's who!

I've just realised it's taken me about 11 weeks now to lose a stone. I've stuck to the plan but rl gets in the way sometimes, like today, I went to a parents lunch at dd1's school, the only option was home made pizza so not a lot I could do to avoid it. Still, as dh keeps pointing out, it doesn't really matter how long it takes for the weight to come off so long as it does come off.

jenk1 · 18/05/2009 14:47

ah thanks profyaffle, ill have a look at the link and join up.

Thats exactly what the nurse said to me today-the same as your DH,the slower it comes off the longer is stays off,but i do think i could poss have lost 2 stone but best not to beat myself up about it,onwards and upwards as they say.

ummmm frozen mullerlight,im going to try that,my main downfall is bread,i love white bread with lots of butter on

but summer is almost here and i want to look nice so on i plod.

annyoingdevil-thats really good 4lbs off!!!

well done to everyone else,we will all get there in the end!!!

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 14:52

I'm intrigued by your reference to the nurse and getting SW free, is that one of these gp referral things? Just wondered as we're a similar dress size and I want to get down to 14 too. Did you just go to the gp, are there criteria to meet to get it free?

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 14:55

Oh and just to add re speed of weight loss. I lost 1.5 stone on WW in the past in 10 weeks but the difference there was I was demented by the end! Thoroughly depressed with feeling hungry and deprived and piled the weight back on fairly quickly. Don't feel anything like so desperate on SW, must healthier approach from a psychological viewpoint so I'm sure it's going to stay off this time round.

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 14:55

much not must. tsk.

TitsalinaBumsquash · 18/05/2009 15:05

Afternoon all!

I have a lovely looking Veg curry bubbling away inmy stock pot, its from a SW book and its free on Green.

The sparkly place admin have asked me to change my name (which is the same there as it is here) as i may attrct unwanted porn adverts on thier site. PMSL

jenk1 · 18/05/2009 15:07

profyaffle, no theres no criteria, just being overweight!!

i went to see my GP and had a chat and she referred me to the nurse,so i went and she weighed me and measured me,asked me which one i wanted to join and a week later i got the vouchers.

interestingly she said at the first appt and she repeated it today that SW,s scales are massively wrong and they do it to make money,i weigh 8 pound less on her good old fashioned scales than i do on SW

i think the only thing is that you cant have been a member of SW in the last 6 months.

i too am only concerend with being a size 14 at the mo,ideally i should be a 10 or 12 but i want some curves left!!!!,when i get to a size 14 ill reevaluate it, and yes i agree about WW ive done it before and i was permanently hungry at least on SW im not and i dont feel like im on a diet.

MamaG · 18/05/2009 15:08

ROFL at tits

The admin at that sparkly site are a bit, er, bossy aren't they

You can't join the recipe thread until you've been tehre 2 weeks and hvae 25 plus posts AND they've got to be decent posts, they will check if you post drivel just to up your count

I went to GP before i started SW the first time and she looked at me like i had three heads when I suggested a sw referral and said she'd never heard of it

OP posts:
MamaG · 18/05/2009 15:09

farking hell i might go back to the gP!

OP posts:
ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 17:16

Oh, that's me out then, I've been a member in the last 6 months. No such luck re scales for me, as I've been an at home member I'm using my own scales.

Re the admin at the sparkly place, I nearly didn't join when I read the T&Cs of joining, no text speak (), don't post til you've searched the archives, make an effort with grammar, can't access the recipe board etc etc @ Tits being reprimanded before she even joins!

Snorris · 18/05/2009 17:27

Having quite a good day today .

I also saw the reply to Tits first post!!!!
Never mind, with the amount of MNers joining we'll be able to stage a revolution and take over the site . (Only joking if some them have made it over here )

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 17:33

Just been and had a peek, have you shortened your current name over there Tits?

dazmum · 18/05/2009 17:34

Tullytwo 2 Weetabix is a healthy option, there are loads more HEs for cereal on the SW website than are in the book, so have a look, but still no Rice Krispies!

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 17:46

Found Tully, still not worked out who kid is though.

ConnieComplaint · 18/05/2009 19:17

Just a quick hello guys....can't stay in front of the PC for very long as I have the shits runs....

Feckin fruit... my poor bum is red raw!

AND I have to go to my sister's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe how many more of us are on this thread It's great

Didn't do too bad today, had fruit for breakfast, 2 nimble with egg for lunch followed by more fruit salad... Dinner was chick stirfry with loads of veg & noodles.

Better go.......the gurgling has started, how in the hells blazes am I going to get 20 miles to my sister's without shitting myself needing to go to the toilet??

jenk1 · 18/05/2009 19:17

prof yaffle you "could" still do it you know.

as you,ve not been to a class in the last 6 months you could try not that im suggesting that you bend the rules or anything but i know of a lady who joined, found out a month after about the referral scheme (when i joined) and "rejoined" using her maiden name.

tullytwo · 18/05/2009 19:31

Thankyou dazmum-weetabix it is then!

Have got no further on sparkly site -presume I have to post loads before I am admitted into the inner sanctum!

kid · 18/05/2009 19:33

dazmum - I'd love to vegetable curry recipe please. I don't mind chopping if it saves on syns. It might even count towards exercise if its really that much chopping

I went to my GP and asked for a gym referal. I was told that I am not overweight enough! So, if I put on 4 stone, they will accept me? Sounds stupid!

ProfYaffle - How many other members have a 3 letter name with a K at the start? Don't think they could be that many (even though I didn't exactly give massive clues on here who I was over there)

herbgarden · 18/05/2009 19:52

Hi there
anyone know how many syns there are in snack a jacks popcorn (particularly toffee flavour) - I have a six pack to finish off but suspect they are quite a few syns.

The mullers with choc sprinkles are still free but if they are with sprinkles AND a layer (ie the vanilla with choc sprinkles and the cherry layer) then count 2 syns for a pot. Just checked my directory as I'd had two sprinkles today (no layers !) and you got me worried !....

kid · 18/05/2009 20:01

The bags of toffee popcorn come in two sizes. The 23g are 5 syns on each day
The 35g bags are 7 1/2 syns on each day.
