New thread as old kept crashing mine and tits' PCs!

I'm starting afresh today. I haven't decided what I am having for lunch today but I had better hurry up as I am leaving for work in 20 minutes! Was probably going to have rice or couscous with something.

I need to get organised!

tullytwo · 18/05/2009 09:35

Can someone tell me if 28g of rice crispies is a HEb in green days?

I can only find a syn value for it

Also which muller light yogurts are free on green days?

Thankyou

lunavix · 18/05/2009 09:46

Ooooh I joined the sparkly place! Looks good!

Thanks kid and connie, I think it might be the 60g ones will check when tescos arrives

my meal plan for the week is

ready brek or special k for breakfast (a and b)

lunch is
cous cous pot (0.5 syn)

dinner is
spinach lasagne tonight (with an a for mozzarella, and maybe a syn or two for rustic chips)
tomorrow is SW fajitas (syns for tortilla but can't check as online not working, and healthy b for chicken)
weds is jacket potato and hoops
thurs is morrissons sausages, mushy peas and rustic chips (1 syn per 100g)
fri prob jacket potato again, maybe again sunday ... as out saturday (oops)

have shape yoghurts, fruit, vlowfat fromage frais, cucumber and carrot for free snacks, healthy living sour cream dip (syn a tablespoon), and baked crisps (5.5syn a packet)

Not very adventurous this week, trying to work on snacking this week (ie not on junk) and then will work on all my usual home cooked meals next week.

lunavix · 18/05/2009 09:48

oh and fully aware its far too many carbs as well (I know that's not technically a concern as I'm sticking to green days)

Trouble is I'm very picky with meat, struggle to find easy meals (and lunches) that aren't green days, and am a bit broke too and meat is expensive!!!

Cottage cheese, urgh.. I -want- to like it but can't physically put it in my mouth with what it looks like!

dazmum · 18/05/2009 10:02

Kid, I have found a spicy veg curry that only has one syn, quite a bit of veg chopping (potatoes, carrots, celery, courgettes and onion), would you like the recipe? It came from the 2008 freebie calendar with the magazine. Is lovely!

I've just gone back to SW, got to my target last year and kept it all off until this Christmas, then Easter...half a stone to go! Agree with Snorris that writing a food diary is a really good idea, keeps me on track - I did it for the first couple of weeks and lost, didn't this week though so not expecting much for the weigh in on Wednesday!

MamaG · 18/05/2009 10:06

Yeah I've donea weigh in an d afood diary thread on sparkly place. I'm a bit of an all or nothing kinda gal, I'll be adding tickers and calling everybody hunniiiiii before you can say cake!

I'm DETERMINED to be good from now on after last night's calorie massacre! Going to shop online later and meal plan.

What are these rustic chip things?

OP posts:
tullytwo · 18/05/2009 10:14

Anyone? need to go shopping later and want to make sure i am on right track-only starting today!

MamaG · 18/05/2009 10:16

I'm 99% sure it is tully

dazmum · 18/05/2009 10:19

tullytwo, looked up rice krispies in the food directory and 28g is 5.5 syns on both green and red, not listed in the book as HE.

Most of the muller lites are free on both days, except the ones with the fruit sauce at the bottom, and the new ones with chocolate sprinkles. It's usually the 'normal' ones that are free.

AuntieMaggie · 18/05/2009 10:23

Morning

Back from a great weekend with the girls.... wasn't so great SW wise!

Have weighed myself this morning and think I may have put a pound on (my scales are about 3 or 4 pounds different from SW).

So I'm also going "back on track" this week which is going to be a nightmare as I also overspent this weekend so am skint and not much healthy stuff in the house!

No you can't have rice krispies as a HE - they don't have enough fibre in them.

tullytwo · 18/05/2009 10:23

Oh bugger-dont undestand why it isnt same as other cereal!

Weetabix is ok isnt it? 2 of them instead.

God I find this all so hard-hoping it becomes second nature soon

dazmum · 18/05/2009 10:28

I know, it's a pain, you'll soon get the hang of it, I promise!

Well, just looking in The Book, lists as HEs, weetabix crunchy bran, weetabix minis, any variety, oatibix bitesize and weetabix weetaflakes - who makes weetabix and I'll look it up for you. Think the key is that it needs to be wholegrain. fills you up and makes you go!

dazmum · 18/05/2009 10:32

duh, weetabix is the make! But, 2 of them are 6.5 syns.
Do you like shreddies? I have them or fruit and fibre with a bananna seems to fill me up! Don't lose heart, for the first few weeks just chooses what's listed in the book until you get used to it.

dazmum · 18/05/2009 10:40

AuntieMaggie's right, it's the high fibre that makes them HEs.

lunavix · 18/05/2009 10:42

gah gah isn't special k a HE??!!! And I'd -swear- rice krispies used to be, cos I used to eat them as you got loads for 28g!!!!

I think the rustic chips are mccain, they're in a reddish bag. They're 1syn per 100g, really nice, 300g is a very decent portion and I prefer them to 'free' SW chips as I feel like I'm eating proper chips

lunavix · 18/05/2009 10:44

weetabix is def a HE although from memory I think a HEB is 2 weetabix and one brany sort of ryvita.

dazmum · 18/05/2009 10:50

Sorry, ordinary special K isn't, but Special K Sustain is. I'll ask about the 2 weetabix on Wednesday, but I thought if it's not actually listed as an HE it isn't?

ProfYaffle · 18/05/2009 11:38

Re the choc Muller lights, the vanilla and orange varieties are free, only choc cherry is 2 syns. Someone said that on the other thread and the sparkly place backs that view so it must be true!

dazmum · 18/05/2009 12:07

Hurray!! Are they nice, has anyone tried them? I'm always a bit disappointed with chocolate or toffee yoghurt, as I expect them to taste like one of those cream desserts from M and S, and because they are yoghurt they are a bit sour. Think I'll give these a go though.

katylou25 · 18/05/2009 12:22

I love the orange and choc ones -but you can only buy them in amultipack and not so keen on the others..

dazmum · 18/05/2009 12:29

So all the new flavours are in one pack? Are they like a limited edition?

Also - does anyone have the password for this week please?

jenk1 · 18/05/2009 12:34

well i went for my check up today with the nurse and i have just lost a stone in 3 months so am entitled to the next 3 months free again.

i lost 4 inches off my waist tho, but im not happy with myself as i lost that flippin stone after 8 weeks and ive messed about for the past 4.

so back on it now, its my birthday in 2 months and i want to lose another stone and go down to a size 14 as im a 16 now (i was 18/20 when i started).

so thats my goal.

by the way i keep reading about the sparkly place and havent a clue what or where it is,could someone enlighten me?

MadameCastafiore · 18/05/2009 12:39

Password is Curry.

Am just popping in to say I lost for the 1st time today - 2lb - have been going a month and I think my body has taken that long to get used to not smoking and finally it is working and I am losing weight. Do lots of exercise too - running and I don't think that helps with SW!

Will be watching thread and doing recipes properly this week as have bit more time on my hands - Rogan Josh tomorrow!

Does anyone know if I can stick Mullerlights in an icecream maker and make frozen yogurt just for something other than fruit to munch on after meals?

I have a goal of being a stone slimmer and toned by mid august - I have a holdiay booked and a wedding to go to - and I do not like the bride so want to be thin enough to wear something inappropriate! - would put evil emoticon if there was one here!

Lilyloo · 18/05/2009 13:09

madame lot's of the ladies at my sw do freeze mullers so guess so!
You can get the vanilla with choc sprinkle mullers on there own , the cherry one (2 syns) and the choc orange are part of multipack though!

dazmum · 18/05/2009 13:17

Thank you Madame and Lilyloo! I hadn't thought of freezing the yoghurts, will make them last longer too.
