I use their 'monthly pass' which is £18 for the month, so works out a bit cheaper, and you can go to as many meetings as you want as well as using the online resources.

You can get vouchers for free registration in the Sunday tabloids too. Go for it LincolnsMummy. If you are scared, remember you are doing something positive about it. It works.

Good luck.

savageisfat · 24/04/2009 12:19

Good luck!!! I am currently trying to lose weight too, not particularly following weight watchers although if I'm in a hurry I do like their frozen prepared meals. The lemon chicken risotto one is delicious and really filling when you want something quick and yummy!

Let us know how you do, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

suwoo · 24/04/2009 12:23

The monthly pass is on offer for your 1st month at £17, so works out at £3.95 for your 1st 4 weeks and £4.14 thereafter. You also get the essentials pack for free if you join the monthly pass, it is worth £17 and contains the eating out guide, shopping guide and track book.

I joined on Wednesday and so far am finding it OK tho I do think about food CONSTANTLY!

Any top tips anyone?

Well done on your weight loss OP!!

Ohforfoxsake · 26/04/2009 15:34

My approach to WW is obsessional anyway, so I think about it constantly when I'm doing it. Track everything, absolutely everything. Plan ahead.

Curly Wurlys are 2 or 2.5 points I think. That is my top tip

GossipMonger · 27/04/2009 21:07

How is it all going?

I have been counting obsessively and do feel in control which is good.

I just had the biggest salad you have ever seen with 70g tuna and 200g pasta/mayo. All for 4 points!

tootiredtothink · 27/04/2009 21:20

Ooh, I joined up last week after finally giving up on slimming world - the eat as much as you like philosophy just didn't work for me.

French fries are 1 point I'm having a couple of packs a day so will be interesting how much weight I lose.

Have 9 stone to go so fingers crossed for Thursday.

GossipMonger · 29/04/2009 16:10

Lost 2.5lbs in my first week which I am pleased about!

GossipMonger · 30/04/2009 21:36

How are you doing CT?

I have just got back from trampolining and had 2 WW bars - 3pts!!

tootiredtothink · 01/05/2009 13:18

Congrats on your loss GossipMonger.

How lovely are those WW bars???? I'm loving the toffee one - just had one with 2 packets of french fries .

Went to mine last night and lost 8.5lbs so very pleased there.

I did the speed week so upping my points today - I feel I can't possibly eat all those and still lose weight though so feeling a tad worried.

moocowmrs · 01/05/2009 13:27

Hi Can -I join in too please I started ww in jan and have lost 25.5lbs so far, but need encouragment to keep going really. Lost 5.5 this week. I use the calculator tracker thingie which is fab and much easier than writting things down !
I struggle with lunches to have with the DCs any ideas?

tootiredtothink · 01/05/2009 15:58

I'm keen on ideas too moocowmrs - there are only so many baked pots/beans/tuna/chicken salads I can have!!!

GossipMonger · 01/05/2009 16:43

I have been having WW bread (4slices = 2pts) with marmite (0pts) and lots of salad. 30g philly cheese is only a point. Rather than make it up and eat it in one go, I put the marmite on as I go IYSWIM and top up with salad.

It takes ages to eat!

DH made 0pt butternut squash soup which was lush the other day and I ate it over the week.

How do you lose 8.5lbs and 5.5lbs in one go????

moocowmrs · 01/05/2009 20:07

Is the WW bread any good or is it a bit like eating cotton wool ! I buy the cakes and that is about it really.
I have made alot of the recipes from that free magazine book thing and the beef and chickpea curry is fab.
Have made the tomato soup 0 points and the a fish chowder from the same book that were great too.

tootiredtothink · 02/05/2009 09:55

I've got a lot to lose so will always come off easier that first week. Although after my celebration bottle of wine and chinese last night I won't get a great loss next week .

Must try some soup for next week - need to lose those chinese points somehow!!!

GossipMonger · 02/05/2009 09:56

WW bread is fine!

I like ryvita too and rice cakes.

The ww bars are yummy and I put them in the fridge to make them last longer!

bottletopbill · 05/05/2009 11:50

Hi there - I started this thread but havent been on line for a while sorry!Joined WW 3 weeks ago - have 2 stone to loose.

Lost 3.5 in first week, 3.5 in second week - so 7pounds in total so far. Have my weigh in on Thurs morning.

I have struggled to use my points 21 points. Im not one or dont have too much time for breakfast so tends just to be cereal.

Lunch is a sandwiches on WW wholemeal bread which is 1 point per slice but to me tastes like normal wholemeal.

I now have 1½ stone to loose and plan to do this by end of July - wish me luck!!!

I havent joined the club thingy but am going to this week as Im paying £5.50 per class

BlingDreaming · 05/05/2009 12:01

I'm thinking of joining. But believe it or not, I don't really know how it works. You go to meetings and get points according to what you eat? Sounds relatively simple?

I've struggled and struggled to lose weight and am getting desperate.

SimpleAsABC · 05/05/2009 13:23

Hello! I re joined yesterday. Last time I started (before Christmas) I was 11st 5, almost 5ft.

Lost about 10lbs and packed it in..

Back up to 11st 1 and have a stone to lose.

Motivation is losing my jelly belly, it is nooooot attractive!

BlingDreaming · 05/05/2009 14:04

Well, I signed up and am going to go to a meeting tonight - there's one relatively near home at 7pm. All the ones near work are at weird times (and frankly, I'd like to avoid ones with poeple I might know). Although there was one on mondays at 12:45 which I might look into next week.

BaByRaZ · 05/05/2009 14:18

Does WW make you eat more healthy would you say? see im trying to start something but not sure which deit? Lighter life? slimming world? ww?

moocowmrs · 05/05/2009 19:16

umm yes I would say that WW has helped me eat more healthy as the more healthy the food, less fat etc the fewer points it has so you can eat more ! I have cooked alot of WW reciepes and not bought into the whole WW food thing expect for cakes and bars. You could live of WW produce if you wanted too!
WW def makes you think about what you are eating, portion size etc so that can only be a good thing !

GossipMonger · 05/05/2009 19:27

I am soooo in the WW zone!

It makes you think about what you are eating but not in a religious sort of way!

Today I ate

30g Fruit n Fibre with sk milk (2pt)

apple (0.5pt)

4 Ryvita with philly cheese (3pt)
Salad

Pack Quavers (1.5pt)

For dinner DH and I had

Diced chicken thighs roasted in spray oil with tons of roasted veg (peppers, courgette, mushrooms, tomatoes) and when it was all cooked I stirred thru some WW creme fraiche (0.5 pts for 30g) Served it with couscous and it was delicious!!

Am going to have a WW yoghurt and WW bar later on as DH is out and I will munch if I am on my own.

So total pts today is

15pts and I should be at least 18pts.
