wow....

some tasty meals there...

BlingDreaming · 06/05/2009 09:25

I went to my first meeting last night [god, it sounds like AA or something doesn't it?].

It seems to me that it's not complicated - it's just making you think very very carefully about what you eat. I think I get done in by the extras like olive oil and other dressings etc etc. So I'm feeling quite optimistic I can do it.

I think I pissed off the group leader guy though because when he was talking us through the things you can buy etc and he was nattering on about the food tracker book and shopping book etc and I asked, completely innocently because I wasn't sure, "That's all the stuff that's online too right?" and he got all sniffy with me and told me that yes, but it takes away his commission. And then immediately backtracked and said that's his problem and not to worry about it.

I guess it's not all love and happiness in WW land currently.

[I felt bad and mentally assured him I'll buy things like WW scales etc from him when I get there! ]

Gossip - how long have you been doing it and have you lost any weight yet?

GossipMonger · 06/05/2009 19:45

OOOH went for my weigh in today and had lost another 2.5lbs!!

That is 5lbs in 2 weeks! I am so pleased.

I was freaking out as I went to Zizzi at the weekend and ordered a 'healthy' salad and it turned out to be 16 points!! I could have had a pizza for 14pts!!

Tonight we had a madeup rice/chicken dish.

I fried some onions and diced chicken thighs in no cal spray and added peppers and mushrooms. Added rice and stock and cooked it through with some tomato puree. Seasoned it and it was delicious for very few points as only the rice and chicken had to be counted.

bottletopbill · 06/05/2009 20:39

I have my 3rd weigh in tomorrow. I lost 3.5pounds in first week and the same in the 2nd week. Fingerscrossed for a good weight loss tomorrow - wish me luck!

knat · 06/05/2009 20:41

i've been doing ww since the second week inJan and have found ti does make youthink a lot more about what you eat and where you spend your points. I wanted something that wasnt really a diet but a way of life and i can say that t his is as long as youpoint things and keep them in your point allowance its ok - obviously better to go for things that you fill you up for longer though! I've now got 2lbs to go until i've lost 4 stone so i think its great!!!!

bottletopbill · 06/05/2009 21:06

Knat - wow you have done amazingly well - 4 stone is a fantastic weight loss. You must of been very focussed.

I have 2 stone to loose - have done half a stone in 2 weeks and like you said Ive found it relatively ok - have planned my meals and tried to eat and live normally and not get obsessed with being on a diet.

Today Ive had:

cereal and fruit - before I would have had nothing

Lunch was a chicken salad with light dressing and a small WW cake - before would of been a sandwiche, crisp, chocolate

Dinner this evening was a prawn stir fry - before probably curry, with rice, nan bread and a kitkat and a bag of crisps later to relieve bordem.

So all in all I really now plan my meals - vegetables/salads are o points so also have made fresh soups which I would never of done before

BlingDreaming · 07/05/2009 10:34

Wow. You ladies are inspiring me. I'm on day 3. It's definitely hard but I think very clever - it's basically a healthy eating plan but that's very easily accessible and easy to understand and it makes you think very very carefully about everything you eat.

Yesterday, I chose NOT to snack rather than eat some 4 point snacks that were available (do need to do a WW approved snack run clearly! Am adding appropriately low points snacks to my next tesco order).

DH thinks I'm looking good (glowy as opposed to thin). And I certainly feel energised so hopefully that just proves it's worth eating healthily.

bottletopbill · 07/05/2009 22:48

3rd week and lost half a pound today - I was a little disappointed but I lost 3.5 in 1st and 3.5 in 2nd week - the leader said it is normal to have a big weight loss then it settles down.

So total is 7.5 in 3 weeks

BlingDreaming · 08/05/2009 14:15

Well done.

I'm finding it quite hard but I think that's because I haven't got into the planing part of things. Lunches mainly - buying lunches in the City it's challenging to get it right. I'm sticking to the points, but have mostly had to forgo all snacks as my meals are using up all the points.

But the sense of satisfaction I feel from managing to keep it together is significant and I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the week goes.

GossipMonger · 08/05/2009 16:59

Bling - could you not prepare a sandwich or salad to take to work with you?

Saving you points and money!!

WW bread is fine and with a filling like tuna mayo is v low in points

Banana

WW yog

Diet coke or water

= 5pts

BlingDreaming · 08/05/2009 17:13

Yes - will definitely do that. Just haven't been organised enough this week yet. I started WW on Tuesday on a little bit of a whim and have been manic at work so it's a little disorganised for me.

My plan is to do a smart shop this weekend and then I'll be far better prepared for the future.

tootiredtothink · 08/05/2009 18:10

We're all doing very well.

Second weigh in and lost 1lb - so 9.5 in total.

I was out today and bought a boots shapers red thai chicken wrap, which was 4 points. Had it with a pack of french fries so 5 in total which i didn't think was too bad.

wickedwitchofwestfield · 08/05/2009 18:13

have lost 17.5lb in total since 27 March on WW - am jolly proud of myself+very rarely feel like I'm on a diet.
I am hoping to have lost 4st by November (do-able if I lose a steady 2lb a week)
and my end goal is a loss of 8st.
I feel so much more positive on WW than I ever did on SW+I really feel like the end is in sight
Here's to a good weekend for all the WW ladies!

My aim for next week is to up my exercise...Ive borrowed a Davina DVD and aim to walk more.

Good luck 4 the w-end everyone

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/05/2009 16:44

hello ladies

I lost 4stone on ww in 11 mths - 5 years ago and kept it off

I have been a bit of a piggy recently, far too many meals out with dh/friends and have put on 2stone since NY

I did it at home last time, by myself - REFUSE to pay someone £5+ a week

so started yesterday

I always weigh in on a friday, that way if I have a bad weekend, I can be good sun to thur

I know most food points, so happy that french fries have gone down - used to be 1.5 per bag

0 point butternut squash soup is yummy

though think the ww bread is naff, and prefre to eat proper stuff

so 28lbs to lose

wish me luck

ByTheSea · 09/05/2009 16:53

I have lost a stone and a half and have 2 stone more to go. I've been doing WW for 11 weeks so far.

pipsy76 · 09/05/2009 17:37

Hi can I join you girls please? Like blondes I am refusing to stump out the cash each week but could do with some moral support. I have lost weight with WW before but each time when i have got to my goal, pregnancy has put me right back again!

My mum has kindly told me I now waddle when I walk.

I had gestational diabetes in this pregnancy and have just had my 8 week postnatal check with my consultant the good news is I don't have type 2 diabetes, the bad news is I have a fifty percent risk of developing it in the future but can reduce this by loosing weight.

2 stone to loose but 30 points per day as BF, yey!

BlingDreaming · 10/05/2009 18:32

Wow, everyone on this thread is very impressive. Well done.

I'm feeling pretty positive in that I seem to be managing to stay within my points allocation, even with the lack of preparation. I have my first weigh in on tuesday so hope that it's good news.

It is weird to feel thatI've eaten a lot but know that technically, I remain on track.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/05/2009 13:31

i was sooooooooooooooooo good yesterday -went to a friends for roast dinner - pointed it up and had roast for 12 points (plus other 8 for tea and breakie)

and then dh, my bf and her dh got plastered from 2-11pm and i said no to booze and drove

and stuck to diet coke and fizzy water

I must have at least saved 50 points as the amount of wine/beer they all drink

today had oats so simple

o point soup and 2 bread
banana

having salmon and rice tonight

BlingDreaming · 11/05/2009 14:06

I am really nervous about tomorrow's weigh in. I've been sticking to the points - I think - but genuinely haven't felt terribly deprived (only occassionally). It's very difficult to believe i might actually have lost weight.

If I haven't lost anything (even just a pound) I will be devastated.

I just had a salad - lettuce, peas, sweetcorn, glass noodles, chicken (v, little), feta (v little), carrots and a bit of olive oil/lemon dressing. It's 51/2 points or so. But I feel full. So I feel like I MUST be overeating?

I am terrified I'm measuring wrong. I think I'm going to buy the ww scales - it will be reassuring for me while I get started.
