wohoo! I disappeared for a bit (ill baby and busy weekend) but my first weigh in and I've lost 4 whole pounds! I know the first week is the easiest but its a great start, and I haven't felt hungry after the first couple of days.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/05/2009 20:14

well done

an excellent first week weight loss

now thats hope you dont fall off the wagon next weekend, like we i did

tootiredtothink · 18/05/2009 22:30

Yes, I am hanging my head in shame , and I certainly won't tell you about the packet of crisps I had after my dinner of chicken breast with salad [halo beginning to choke me now emoticon].

Even with all my crisps and choccy bars (I have the WW rich toffee bars), I am still under my points at 17.5.

Will try to stay under all week as I desperately try to claw back some points.

Kayzr · 19/05/2009 08:21

Just been out on my bike! I am so unfit and felt like I was going to die!! But it got me 4 extra points!!

I get the ww peanut bars. They are lovely as are the rhubarb and custard sweets.

BlingDreaming · 19/05/2009 10:10

Weigh in for me today...! feel nervous!

tootiredtothink · 19/05/2009 11:10

Well done on the exercise - I think it'll be a while before I do that yet.

Good luck with your weigh in Bling, you'll be fine. You can't live a life without cocktails!

shavenhaven · 19/05/2009 11:16

can someone please give me the recipe to ww 0pt butternut soup?

BlingDreaming · 19/05/2009 11:34

I found a curried one on their website? Is that it?

1 portion butternut, peeled, de-seeded and diced into 1 inch cubes
2 medium onions, quartered
2 portions stock cube, venetable - make up to 2 pints with hot water
1 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1 pinch salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon pepper, to taste
2 oprtion spring onions, thinly sliced, to garnish

  • Preheat oven to gas mark 7/220 degrees. Place squash and onion in a arge roasting pan or baking dish. Bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes until the squash is tender. Don't worry if some of th epieces get a bit browned, this will add to the raosted flavour.
  • Remove from the oven. Tip into saucepan and add stock. Bring up the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Let cool about 15 minutes - do not pour hot soup directly into food processor or you risk it exploding. Puree in batches in blender or food processor.
  • Toast curry powder in a small frying pan over low heat until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Stir into pureed soup. Season to taste and divide between 6 bowls. Garnish with spring onions to serve.

I made a vegetable curry las tnight, which even eating generous portions was only 6 points (I was starving as had nothing from lunch until 9 pm). But if you ate a smaller portion, would be only 4.

Serves two generously:
1 onion, chopped
1- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 yellow pepper, deseed and sliced
2 teaspoons curry powder
1/2 teaspoon each of cumin and coriander powder
250g tomatoes, peeled and chopped
175ml vegetable stock
Trickle of honey
1 tin chickpeas, drained and rinsed
2 bay leaves

Fry the onion, garlic and yellow pepper in a little oil - I used only about 2 teaspoons and then added a little water once it had started to fry.
When softened, add the spices (and a bit of water if it starts to scorch) and stir well.
Add the tomoatoes, stock, honey, chickpeas and bay leaves and simmer gently for about 30 minutes, stirring occassinally to break up the tomatoes.

Serve with couscous or rice.

It's good with a little bit of plain greek yoghurt on the side too.

bottletopbill · 19/05/2009 14:50

Chick pea curry sounds lovely, I have a tin in the cupboard so will make tomorrow.

Ive just been to lunch with an old friend - had 2 points on brekkie this morning by was v.bad at lunch. Had Brushetta and penne pasta with cream and chicken and a cappacinno!!! Im sure Im well over my 21 points for today!!!!

Im having nothing else now till tomorrow - I have my weigh in Thurs pm!!

Kayzr · 19/05/2009 17:27

I've been a bit naughty today. My brother popped round and he had some custard doughnuts. 6 points!!!!

Shoshe · 19/05/2009 20:39

Well i lost another 2.5lbs.

Kayzr · 20/05/2009 10:04

Well done!!! That's great!!

tootiredtothink · 20/05/2009 10:41

Well done Shoshe.

Can't wait til tomorrow for my weigh in - get a tad too excited I think .

Although have been getting into habit of being 'naughty' over the weekend and trying to play catch up from Monday.

BlingDreaming · 20/05/2009 11:13

Well done Shoshe!

I only lost another 1lb. But I'm feeling quite good about it because it was not a good week - I was 9 points over by the end of the week, even with the activity points I managed to slip in so the fact that there was any weight loss at all was a real bonus!

Kayzr - count the points and work it out. I'm often surprised by how little I am over if I've been good otherwise and if it's only a few points you can catch up.

What was your two point breakfast? I'm struggling with breakfast myself - I can't eat before I leave the house so have to have breakfast at work and somehow it always lands up being closer to 6 points which seems too much to me for first thing in the morning.

tootiredtothink · 20/05/2009 11:43

Well done Bling - 1lb brilliant if not been too good yourself.

I've started having porridge for breakfast. Do you have a microwave at work? The sachet with semi skimmed milk is only 3 points and very filling.

Kayzr · 20/05/2009 12:14

I either have Special K(well the asda version) with whole milk(only have a little bit) or porridge with semi skimmed for 3.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/05/2009 13:09

well done shoshe and bling

i think i should give up

was doing very well (apart from blip on saturday with wine, but we arnt going to talk about that)

until

yesterday - i was a funeral of a dear relative and basically spent most of the day crying, wake was in a pub and healthily of a few sandwiches and avoided the cake/crisps - but only 4 G&S (4p)

and then we went for a curry as that was what my uncle loved - and curry is so bad on ww

if only you could lose weight crying, as yesterday i would have lost stones

Kayzr · 20/05/2009 13:11

Blondes, So sorry to hear about your relative BUT don't you dare give up!!! Just right of this week and then start again!!!

noshouting · 20/05/2009 15:27

Hi ladies may I join you please, I had DS4 8 months ago and am now heavier than I was when ready to pop!!
I have 2 stone to lose and will be doing WW at home.
I am a real evening muncher so will be working very hard to find other things to occupy me in the evenings.
I have read some of the thread so far and am so impressed so HI

GossipMonger · 20/05/2009 17:34

1.5lbs off today making 7.5lbs total loss in 4 weeks!

BlingDreaming · 20/05/2009 17:38

Well done Gossip. That's amazing!

Blondes - I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. But honestly, one bad day should not have you beating yourself up any more. You're having a tough enough time as it is.

At our meeting the leader was talking about splitting the weekend up so that if you do have a bad part of the weekend, you don't feel like you've ruined it entirely. I think that's good advice for normal day to day stuff too. You had a bad day. It doesn't ruin all your efforts in the days before and the days after that bad day.

Hope you feel better and are feeling a bit stronger today?

Kayzr · 21/05/2009 07:58

Well done Gossip!!
