bling - good luck with weigh in tomorrow

GossipMonger · 11/05/2009 19:14

OOH good luck with the weigh in.

I have had Rice Krispies, Ryvita and soft cheese and salad, apple and banana, 3 cookies (3 pts!!), diet coke, WW spag bol and tomatoes and a teeny tiny piece of choc cake.....I guess the whole lot was 18pts altogether.....

DH is away tonight so I must make sure I go to bed early and not pick!

bottletopbill · 11/05/2009 22:27

I have my 4th weigh in on Thurs morning. TOday I had:

Cereal
Tuna and feta Salad
Apple
Chilli - homemade wiht a bag of WW torillias - lovely

Filled me up totally! Ive noticed that I dont feel hungry in the afternoons anymore. I also dont think about food 24/7 anymore.

Im enjoying the new focussed me - my skin is glowing and I used to have spotty/itched skin on my back and this has now disappeared!! Im sure its the new fresh food diet/intake

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 10:10

Well, I can't go for my weigh in tonight - part of the problem with my spontaneous decision to do this is that I haven't yet got my social calendar sorted. I forgot we've got a friend of DH's birthday tonight.

So... I weighed myself at home this morning. And, according to the scale at home I have lost just less than 1 kg!!!!!

Am jumping with excitement and feeling really good. And it's really incentivised me to keep going.

Because of dinner out tonight, I had porridge, honey and coffee for breakfast (3.5 points) and then I'm meeting a friend for lunch at Itsu so maximum points is 5 depending on what I have. I have some ryvitas to snack on this afternoon with a few dried apricots (2 points), leaving a generous amount of points for dinner.

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 10:14

The rest of you have weigh ins tomorrow and Thursday right? Holding thumbs.

imoverhere · 12/05/2009 10:17

Hello all, I joined WW 6 weeks ago and have lost 17lb (6lb in my first week!). It's the easiest diet I have ever done. I've got a good 5stone to lose and am very optimistic. I'm 40 next Feb and am determined to be slim and lovely by then!

Kayzr · 12/05/2009 10:23

Hello!

I joined WW 5 weeks ago and have lost 11.5lb so far!!(also 6lb in first week). I have got 4 stone to lose.

I really love WW as you can still eat what you want providing you stick to your points.

My weigh in is on a Thursday.

pipsy76 · 12/05/2009 11:35

Hi am very inspired by all of you.

I went to starbucks yesterday and have discovered their nutritional contents list online so was able to enjoy their low fat carrot cake for 3.5 points.

Goodluck for thursday kayzr

ChairmumMiaow · 12/05/2009 12:42

Hi all,

I signed up last night so can I join in? I have done WW in the past and lost a stone on it, which I have kept off (I lost a further half stone on my own which I put back on when pregnant and have since lost most of).

I've got nearly 3 stone to for for my personal goal and about 6 to what WW think I should be.

I'm doing this to be healthier as I have promised DH I will lose weight before we try for another baby.

The hardest thing for me is cooking dinners as I have an energetic DH and a 15mo DS so I have to make things that suit us all, which means me saving points from elsewhere for a higher pointed dinner. At the moment I have lots of points but I can see it getting harder as they reduce!

bottletopbill · 12/05/2009 13:48

Bling Dreaming - you can go to ANY WW meetings to get weighed and attend if you cant make your own regular meeting.

I was at work last Thurs morning (My usual class) so couldnt go but went to an Evening one to get weighed...I was also going out that night but went there all dressed up got weighed then left!!! Im glad I pushed myself to do it.

Hubby out tonight so I going to do the Davina DVD my friend has lent me - wish me luck!!!

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 14:07

Shite. I got an itsu side salad not realising how high in points the dressing is. It's fine - but now my lunch was 5.5 points. I'm still doing well for the day, but am feeling a bit annoyed with myself.

I know - I thought I might go get a formal weigh in tomorrow if I can find one that has a meeting at a convenient time near the office. I'm still feeling good though overall. And it's in my diary now for the next few weeks.

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 14:09

Chairmum - can you try cooking meals with veggies and meat seperate - give yourself more of the veggies and less of the high point meats? Or serve everything with side salads and you eat more of them? That's my plan with DH - he'll happily eat salads but needs extra meat and bread etc, and I'll just have less of those.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2009 15:00

same here bling - i cook same for dh but give him 2 fish/chicken portions and more potatoes etc

shame you couldnt weigh, but hopefully your scales have spurned you on

i weigh on a friday

today had

oat so simple and skim 3
salad, tikka chicken, choc mousse 5

and not sure about tea - possibly a micro meal of 5 points

leaving me with a few to spare for the weekend where i am out for friends bday

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 15:23

Can you all please cast your eye over the below menu - it's the dinner we're going to. Am I right that the Roast Salmon is likely to be my best bet? They have a pea soup to start so that works.

Roast Organic Salmon with Fennel and Orange Salad
Salad of Confit Duck Leg and Breast with Roasted Plums, Red Wine Dressing
Pork Fillet Saltimbocca with Crushed Jersey Royals, Sage Butter
Breaded Fillet of Haddock with Crushed Minted Peas and Fries,
Tartare Sauce
Shepherd?s Pie
Cumberland Sausages with Mash Potato, Onion Gravy
Herb Pancakes filled with Ricotta, Spinach and Red Pepper, Gazpacho Dressing

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2009 15:52

def salmon - that will be 3.5 plus maybe a point or 2 for dressing - salad will be free, as sure you wont get many ornage bits in it, or use 1/2 a p for it

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 16:00

ok, good thanks. Because with the accidental screw up on lunch I don't have that many points left. I am planning a quick gym session tomorrow so can get a couple of activity points then but it's not ideal.

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 16:20

sorry, I know I'm high maintenance right now...

on the first course menu, they also have scallops. I see they're quite low points so was thinking of ordering them as my main. It's 125g for a portion. The menu has them with pancetta but I can push some of that aside?

ChairmumMiaow · 12/05/2009 17:59

Thanks, good thought about the meals. We eat a lot of rice and pasta dishes though, as DS is not good with meat (chop type things), but I'll have to have a think!

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 18:04

even pasta is doable - serve yourself less or keep your pasta and sauce seperate before you put it on for everyone else?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2009 18:29

scallops are very low in fat but make sure that they are not in a creamy sauce

BlingDreaming · 12/05/2009 18:30

nope. roasted with pancetta. So am optimistic. Starter portion.

Wish me luck.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2009 18:33

good luck

or you dont havw to eat much, push it around the plate etc and save yourself for the salmon

BlingDreaming · 13/05/2009 09:08

It went well. The soup seemed to be pretty much entirely peas and mint with a smidgeon of creme fraiche - I'm allocating 1 point to it to cover any oil etc? Does that sound okay?

And the scallops were perfect. Three small, but perfectly formed , scallops with a small piece of pancetta and served on a bed of.... mashed peas!!! So I'm allocating 1.5 points for the scallops, another 1.5 for the pancetta and an extra 1 for any oils and sauces that I may have missed. Two small glasses of (delicious) white wine and I feel that I did very well for a total of 9 points!

Weirdly, I felt afterwards like I'd eaten a large, "bad" meal - DH and I are coming to realise that we both (especially me) have more issues with food than we perhaps realised. For me it felt like because I had a delicious meal that felt indulgent, I felt it was "bad" even though it clearly wasn't.

Gossip has her weigh in today I think? good luck!

pipsy76 · 13/05/2009 11:25

Hi bling sounds like a lovely dinner. Not wishing to rain on your parade but how do you get the salmon to be 3.5 points? I had a grilled 150g fillet with veg yesterday and when I used the points calculator it was 6 points, which was a bit gutting! Also,(can you tell I turn obsessive when on WW)I thought peas have points.I will be happy to stand corrected!

BlingDreaming · 13/05/2009 12:07

I didn't calculate the salmon - someone else did. But that's why I chose the scallops - they looked like they were fewer points (according to the online points thing, 125g of scallops is 1.5 points).

I didn't actually check the peas - I just assumed they were free. Thanks for pointing it out - I've just looked and they do have points. Damn it. I'm going to have to add at least another 2 - 3 points.

Arrrggghhh, gettting this right is so hard. I'm about to zip to the gym though to earn a few activity points as I always knew I was going to go over yesterday (just not by how much!!!!).
