Half-term over, restarting diet, anyone else interested??

I started [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/673982-so-3-double-G-amp-Ts-and-a-bo x-of this thread]] after Christmas, but like many others I've slipped back into my old ways. Half term was particularly bad and need to kick-start healthy eating/weight loss. Anyone from that thread or any new people care to join me?

Hi all, I'm going swimming today and I use the leisure centres scales to weigh myself, so i'll report back with this weeks weight. Not holding out much hope though since my willpower this week has been shocking! I definatley think i've put a few pounds on .
Wabbit the stats thing is a good idea. If you scroll up to the beginning of the thread you'll see our original stats to help yopu get started. Yip def a good idea to do report in weekly to help our motivation along

madhairday · 01/03/2009 13:59

Hi all...just waving hello as haven't managed to get on this weekend. Done OK but not brilliant. Have just been swimming but with the dcs so not much exercise. Having veg stew for dinner in minute so will try not to eat too much (esp dumplings!) Am still struggling with willpower....
well done all, keep going. Also like the idea of weekly report, keep us going hopefully.

upagumtree · 01/03/2009 18:16

So the bad news is...i haven't lost any weight . The goog news i...I haven't put on any weight So im still 9 st 13. I need to work much harder!

wabbit · 01/03/2009 20:03

ok, will do a weekly report thing to keep us all motivated just keep on posting

MABS · 01/03/2009 20:59

still 5ft 8, but have lost a pound, god knows how! am now 9st 12lbs.

lilolilmanchester · 01/03/2009 21:20

quick hello from me too, after a MAD weekend. No time, too much booze, too much food. I weigh myself on a Monday. Can only hope that I've not put much on, deffo won't have lost this week. Hope people stick around, I am really going to need some support between now and Easter!

OP posts:
upagumtree · 01/03/2009 21:28

In this for the long haul lilolil...i'm hoping we stick around for much longer than easter!
Glad you had a nice weekend

lilolilmanchester · 01/03/2009 21:38

Upagumtree, you are exactly why I started this thread, so glad I met you through this and not sure I have come across you before? Thanks for your support. Will stop typing cos not sober and bound to write something I wqill regret otherwise!!! Thanks, appreciate your being on here.

OP posts:
upagumtree · 01/03/2009 23:24

Shucks Thankyou Lilolil. Am also on the vino this evening although on my last glass...but only coz there's no more wine left in the house (having drank it all).

I only joined Mn in January which is probably why you haven't come across me before. Saying that, I've posted on quite a few threads but only started a couple of them myself. I spend alot of my Mn time lurking and reading threads but am on here everyday and post where i feel comfortable.

As for the diet?!...Full of good intentions for this coming week

allovertheplace · 02/03/2009 12:19

Helloooo again!

Hope you're all well! Sorry I didn't pop in over the weekend. I fell off the wagon in spectacular style on Saturday, (there was pizza, chinese food and gin involved) and couldn't quite manage to get back on again on Sunday so here I am, at work with healthy lunch and signing in again.

I haven't weighed myself yet. I may venture on to the Wii fit on my day off tomorrow for a peak at my weight and will update again then.

Keep going everyone! It's always worth it when you can squeeze into a smaller dress size!

cyphercat · 02/03/2009 12:32

Hello again. I fell off the wagon too...fried chips, cheesecakes, more chips, chocolate muffins, more of dd's leftover that I didn't need to finish off, and lots of biscuits.. What is it with cold weather and feel good fatty food. And inactivity due to severe cold and asthma. I haven't lost any weight and I can't measure myself as I'm afraid that I might have put on more weight. I will report back on Wednesday. I feel really ill, so I'm just going to be on lots of warm tea...yucky chest cold..

upagumtree · 02/03/2009 13:23

Hope you are feeling better soon Cyphercat. There's nothing worse than feeling shitty. You are perfectly entitled to vast amounts of comfort food when you are feeling like this IMO lol
Must be something in the air though as I think we have all reported back as being very naughty this weekend. Right girls we need to get motivated!! I have just ordered a pair of ice skating boots. So every thursday (unless i'm at work) I'll be going to the rink. Hubby and I have also decided we will take up running. Meant to be starting tonight but it's looking pretty miserable outside and its raining, so not sure if we'll go. Running will also depend on whether Ds1 is available for babysitting duty.
Breakfast: cereal and cup of tea
Midmorning: coffee
Lunch: poached egg, x3 slices grilled bacon (fat removed)on 2 slices of toast with cup of tea.
Think I might make a beef stir fry for dinner this evening.

wabbit · 02/03/2009 13:36

You're all making my mouth water with your wagon falling tales!!

At work at the moment but will compile the stats list this evening

shan't bore you with what i ate yesterday but today...

banana 1.5 pts
activia fat free yoghurt

cov garden soup 1.5 pts
slice wholemeal bread 1pt
carrot sticks
tbsp houmous 1 1/2pts

planning to have
chicken fried in 1tsp olive oil in tomato and basil sauce with brown rice and sugar snap peas for supper 11pts

I've saved 12.5 points and activity earned 8 points so far this week

Cyphercat - you poor thing, comforting food is so necessary when your feeling so poorly - maybe make some hearty veg or chicken and veg soup...

Good luck for today all

upagumtree · 02/03/2009 14:21

"Lunch: poached egg, x3 slices grilled bacon (fat removed)on 2 slices of toast with cup of tea"...

I now have heartburn

lilolilmanchester · 02/03/2009 14:21

Hi all. Cyphercat, sorry to hear you're not well. Well done Wabbit on a healthy day so far. I've had a crap week food & drink-wise, so have decided not to weigh myself today and try to be extra good this week.

OP posts:
MABS · 02/03/2009 15:37

fairly good ystdy an no wine! just had 4 ryvita today and lots of hot water with lemon, swam but only 20 lengths do to apathy.

upagumtree · 02/03/2009 15:40

ONLY 20 lengths Mabs??? Seriously...well done

MABS · 02/03/2009 17:31

aaww thanks Upagumtree, but if i being honest, was swimming 40 3 times a week not so long ago, alongside 4 gym sessions/classes each week.

Now i just can't be arsed, yet before i really enjoyed it, it used to totally claer my head. Sad aren't i ?

cyphercat · 02/03/2009 19:35

oh.. thank you. My dd now has temperature..and kept saying she wanted to go to sleep...and she went. Sensible thing she is..

Now I must be sensible and go to sleep early too. Well done MABS. My god swimming...I can just about swim really fast all the way over the deep bit in the swimming pool with my DH swimming next to me and then hang onto him for dear life and then swim back like a superman till my foot is ready to reach the bottom of the pool. And everybody looks at me funny so I don't really feel like going but I would go to play with dd in a shallow pool

good luck everybody and keep it up, just imagine hot weather and how you could show yourself off with your lovely figure as we are starting quite sensibly early for the summer!!

wabbit · 02/03/2009 20:31

lol @ due to apathy!!!

I'm so apathetic I can't be arsed to do all the changing showering palava that goes with swimming - which in itself could be classed as 'exercise' in my book

Right going to poach all your stats that I can find on this thread... If I miss something just copy and paste with missed bits added

Grrr - already wrong!

MABS has lost a pound! I'll sort it later!

LoveMyGirls · 02/03/2009 21:05

Mabs I'm the same as you with swimming, if I do 20 its like oh only 20, it does clear your head though, I was going to go tonight but changed my mind and did 20 sit ups and a 10 min jog on the wii fit. Have been pretty good today food wise. Not lost any weight though, wii fit told me I'm lb heavier today than yesterday!

upagumtree · 02/03/2009 22:23

DH and I didnt go running as planned but we did go for a brisk 30min walk. So i'm pleased with that.
Thanks for compiling the stats wabbit. Must have taken you ages! I really hope i lose some weight by next week as starting to become vey demoralised atm. Oh well Upwards and onwards as they say.
