I started [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/673982-so-3-double-G-amp-Ts-and-a-bo x-of this thread]] after Christmas, but like many others I've slipped back into my old ways. Half term was particularly bad and need to kick-start healthy eating/weight loss. Anyone from that thread or any new people care to join me?

Hi Mogs0, welcome! Well done on the aqua-aerobics class. I used to do AquaNatal classes many moons ago and really enjoyed it. Aqua aerobics might be the answer to my exercise phobia! Will check it out at our leisure centre, thanks for the idea.

We all had stir-fry for tea BUT I did have a large glass of wine and said no to cheese and crackers first but couldn't resist watching the rest of the family eating them. But had less than I might have done another time, so a step in the right direction!

Hey,

I didn't do any exercise yesterday but am going to aquafit today and apart from a bit 3 slices of cake I was good yesterday.

Going to be good again today

loler · 26/02/2009 09:46

Hi,

Everyone else seems to be eating far more diet type food than me but have been keeping to my ww points so must be doing something right? If I don't eat nice things then I feel as though I'm missing out and would just crack.

Have just had a bag of maltesers but have got the day off and am childfree until after 5 so taking the dog for a long walk to get rid of them. 3.5 points so a brisk hour walk will do it.

Cleaning for the rest of the day - oh joy!

upagumtree · 26/02/2009 10:24

Ok so for breakfast I've had a bowl of rice krispies (30g measured on scales) with semi skimmed milk and 2 cups of tea. Have decided to make a big pot of chicken and vegetable soup for dinner tonight instead of having a heavy meal.
Ds1 and I are going ice-skating tonight. Every Thursday is a 60's/70's night at the local ice rink. So i'm sure to fall and hurt myself badly shimmie some calories off these hips

cyphercat · 26/02/2009 15:41

hi Can I join? I would love to lose about 7 pounds but it's so difficult. Just where I can write down what I eat would be great and motivations and inspirations!!! and failing together.

cyphercat · 26/02/2009 16:03

today was very bad...

had three toasts with nutella, peanut butter. And then about lunchtime I had chocolate and hot chili chips (was bit yuck..). Had dairy lunchbox thing as my dd didn't like it. two servings of greek yogurt with honey.

I really need to eat healty as I feel junky and just out of shape!!

upagumtree · 26/02/2009 16:19

Hi. Welcome on board cyphercat. Did you have the chocolate and chilli chips for your lunch or in addition to lunch? The greek yogurt with honey sounds delicious btw.

I didnt have a very healthy lunch. Had 2 slices of grilled bacon and mushrooms. A fried egg and 2 slices of toast {really need to get a grip} hope to burn it off this evening at skating though

madhairday · 26/02/2009 18:31

Welcome cyphercat.
upagumtree, sounds like you're doing great, have fun at ice skating.
Sounds like we're all taking positive steps. I'd done ok today til tea time, we just had a bit of a fry up, hmmm. But had cornflakes for breakfast and tomato soup with one slice of wholemeal bread for lunch, so not too bad. also went to the gym again this morning.
Now to avoid the evening munchies!

cyphercat · 26/02/2009 18:32

well..I treated dairy lunchbox thing as my lunch, it would have been like a ham, cheese sandwich I suppose but more calories. yes, greek yogurt with honey is one of my favourite things...especially with lots of nuts and dried fruit...hmm I think maybe I need to do more exercise.
Also I tend to eat lots of dd's leftovers as I hate throwing food away and topping up with bescuits if I'm not full enough.
I don't have anything fit to do except to go walk to playgroup twice a week (any ideas as I'm stuck with 20 months old). And I'm growing a serious muffin top I have never had before dd. It's too cold to go to playground and I'm just craving sleep and warm yummy food and hybernating.
upagumtree, your lunch sounds delicious. I think there's nothing wrong with that when you ARE going out to skate!

lilolilmanchester · 26/02/2009 19:38

Hi all, I started off having a healthy lunch (soup, roll, banana, yoghurt) then couldn't sit there watching all my colleagues munching their way through a roast and had a mini pack of jaffa cakes (only 3 tho, and felt proud that I didn't go for a snickers bar!)
We're late having tea - liver, mashed potato and veg. Must go eat. I'm not going to be around much over the weekend, lots on during the days and evenings, and all things which are NOT good for dieting and lots of potential for junk food and snacks. Wish me luck! Will pop in when I can.

Haven't done very well today.

Breakfast - Bowl of Oats and more, cup of tea

Lunch - M&S cheese and mushroom toastie

Dinner - Sausage, mash and veg

Plus 1 pack of mini cheddars.

Didn't do wii fit last night or today.

upagumtree · 26/02/2009 22:33

Hi everyone

Have officially decided that I am seriously crap at ice skating, although had fun doing much falling over I had a great time thanks Madhairday and will be trying to make it a regular thing.

I try to go swimming once a week too. Cyphercat that would be great for you to do with your dc for some exercise.

For dinner had chicken & vegetable soup with brown granary crusty bread. Was delish!!

cyphercat · 26/02/2009 22:45

swimming would be something to do with dd, she would love that....but ohhh it's so coldddd. Okay if I decide on a date, will somebody push me to go..I did catch a cold today so maybe from late next week...)

LoveMyGirls · 27/02/2009 08:14

I'm still being good, went to aquafit last night, am 9.9 on scales this morning, need to do some sit ups today!

upagum & cypher - if you aim to go swimming once a week that's good (I aim to go everyday but usually end up doing it once a week, used to be twice when i was really dedicated plus aquafit) I started doing 10 lengths and built up to this week when I did 50 when I go on my hen spa weekend I'm going to do 100 just because I'll have more time!

madhairday - on my WW diet I could have a fry up but I just changed how I cooked it all, bacon (no sausage) on george foreman or grill, fry lite spray for eggs & mushrooms and beans in a saucepan and no bread but at least you can have it and be guilt free!

upagumtree · 27/02/2009 10:20

Am very sore this morning. Its amazing how many muscles you use trying not to fall! {wonderes how many calories burned trying not to fall }

Had a bowl of special k for breakfast and cup of tea, but the tesco shop is being delivered soon and I have ordered chocolate . What?! It was on offer!!

Due to another thread on Mn, I am going to find an appropriate stash hiding place so family cannot devour everything in sight.

Am very envious lovemygirls that you can do sit ups. I cant do them.

CrackerNut · 27/02/2009 11:45

Well I have just well and truley fallen off the wagon

I had cereal for breakfast as normal, but then had 3 slices of cheese on toast for an early lunch.

I'm so annoyed with myself and disgusted really as I didn't need to eat 3.

Can't do wii fit tonight either to burn it off as I'm going out.

Will make myself choose the healthy option later.

upagumtree · 27/02/2009 11:48

Ooh are you going anywhere nice crackernut?

CrackerNut · 27/02/2009 11:51

Only a pub meal

It was my friends birthday on Tuesday so I said I'd take her out for a bite to eat.

I will definatly be having a large helping of salad and not alot else.

I wish i'd already got my living room blind, then I could go and do wii fit now to work off what I just ate.

upagumtree · 27/02/2009 12:08

Mmmmmm yum. I love pub meals especially when steak pie is on the menu ,salivates at thought of steak pie an chips>.

You could always try and do wii fit in the dark lol...then again maybe not. But if you do it during the day no-one will be able to see in your window will they?

allovertheplace · 27/02/2009 12:21

Hi All

Sorry, didn't manage to pop in yesterday - was working from home and I'm having weekend overnight guests this weekend so frantically trying to get my house fit to be seen, (a massive task given that I'm a proper slob busy person. Welcome to the new ladies I haven't spoken to! We all still seem to have good intentions, regardless of our little slips so at least we're all still trying!

I've been great at sticking to points but crap at exercising. I'm off the wagon on Saturday while my guests are here but will try to climb back on again on Sunday.

I have to say that I managed to avoid sticking a whole mini kiev in my gob while dishing out DDs tea, (but was VERY tempted to) and also didn't gobble up the whole free chocolate bar I got with a magazine subscription and merely had two squares. I like to think that redeems me as far as lack of exercise goes.

Thanks for the cous cous tip LMG. I'd forgotten about cous cous as a filling low fat lunch actually. I'll add it to my shopping list.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

cyphercat · 27/02/2009 14:44

oh my god. I think it is the cooking and trying to finish off dd's meals.

I just think to myself. Well, that's tiny portion, I'm just having a taste or I must need it as I'm soooo tired and don't have any energy.

had porridge for breakfast, tea, glass of milk. walked to playgroup and walked a bit after that shopping, of course had obligatory biscuits and coffee at the playgroup. Came back home and had two toasts, three chocolate cookies and thinking of having some yogurt.. dum dum duhhh..

It might sound like I don't have much to eat but I am very short, 5 foot, so every pound counts!

loler · 27/02/2009 17:22

I'm also very achey today - did a 2 hour brisk walk yesterday, followed by washing stinking dog in the canal (must have used a far few calories as she hates water, just wish she hated stinking stuff!).

Planning on using extra points on wine tonight - meeting leader said to keep track of how much you have by keeping a bottle to self. Good plan - my bottle will have 9 points and intend to use them all.

Made flapjack today and weighed and pointed up everything - 1.5 points a piece. Problem is one piece just isn't enough.

Have a nice meal out - Wii tomorrow before neighbours are up!

MABS · 27/02/2009 18:09

you are all doing so well, great stuff

wabbit · 27/02/2009 18:46

Erm... Is it too late for me to join you here? I've just signed up to WW online and am learning about the points system
I see that loler's also doing ww, and all the other current threads seem to be slimming world.

for the score (and just in case I can join in)

Stats: 5'4" and 11st 5lb fully clothed (I weigh myself at boots so can't go in the nuddy! )

I've just turned 40 and I'm sick and tired of not being the 9st person I was 4years ago when I became pg with ds now 3.5yrs) - I don't look 'bad' as my weight is all round, I just feel heavy and lumbering compared to how I was when i was 36

I've made a concerted effort not to use my car for local trips lately... but excercise other than this is really difficult to fit in, but i'm hoping to power walk up to 3 times a week (or when dd 17yrs is willing to babysit ds!

So, now i'm going to read all your posts properly and keep my fingers crossed that you'll let me join... pwease... I'm everso nice

loler · 27/02/2009 19:59

Hi Wabbit -

I lost 2st with ww online last year (did put some back on so started to go to the dreaded meetings to give me a bit more of a kick). Found the points system dead easy when I go into the swing of it. You do start to know without looking about how much things are. Make sure you record everything, everyday or you'll go the way I did though!
