I started [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/673982-so-3-double-G-amp-Ts-and-a-bo x-of this thread]] after Christmas, but like many others I've slipped back into my old ways. Half term was particularly bad and need to kick-start healthy eating/weight loss. Anyone from that thread or any new people care to join me?

Hi girls, I've stopped crying into my jacket potato . I weighed myself this morning to find out that I've managed to put on another four pounds recently without trying.

I'm 5' 4", 12st 7lb, 36F boobs .

Today I have consumed:

Breakfast: branflakes with skimmed milk and a cup of tea.

Skinny latte with one sugar.

Lunch: ham and pickle sandwich, six chocolate buttons, two squares of Bournville and a cup of tea.

With the children: two fish fingers, potato waffle.

My dinner: jacket potato with cottage cheese and 100g prawns.

All my clothes are tight and I feel dreadful, help

allovertheplace · 23/02/2009 21:18

Well done on the exercise LMG!

My intake over the day was

1 slice toast with scraping of lo fat spread
3 cups of coffee with skimmed milk, no sugar
2 v low fat cereal bars
Lunch: Light cupasoup and 3 multigrain Ryvita with lo fat spread
Tea: WW ready meal
One Tesco chocolate, (nutella) filled crepe (two and a half points)
But.... only managed to drink about 250 mls of water - could do better on that score.

Previously, to try and consume less wine, I started having spritzers and gradually increased the ratio of soda water until it was almost all soda water. I now quite enjoy a glass of chilled soda water in a wine glass instead of my normal tipple which I did tonight. Sometimes I can kid myself that it's a reeeaaaalllly dry Cava!

Hi Everyone

OMG You girls are all so good! Have fallen off wagon already and ate loads of shit today
Started off with good intentions though

Breakfast: Special k with skimed milk

Lunch: Ham sandwhich with thin layer of colslaw

Dinner: very large helping of macaroni cheese and oven chips

Cup of hot chocolate and now i'm on the wine.

This is not good. Will start fresh tomorrow. Oh and I did my half hour walk. Then this evening I took DS1 ice skating only to find out that curling was on instead. So we left feeling very dissapointed and unexercised (really needed to burn off macaroni and chips). So off to QVC now to buy a mop for my kitchen floor to cheer myself up!

Hello again to the old thread people - and hello to this thread people.

I'm on week 2 of paying to go to ww (although dh away so couldn't officially weigh in today but think it's about 4lb . I lost 2 st last year on ww diet without going to the meetings but have put lots of it back on. I have found the thought of ritual humiliation has kept me on the straight and narrow and the paying for it bit is a real incentive too.

My facts -
weight - 12.5 today!
height - 5'6
Dangers - eating too much! And drinking too much then eating to much more. Problems uping exercise as 3 dc, dh works away and I work with no lunch hour so never have time to.

upagumtree · 23/02/2009 22:26

Hi Loler, KWYM. I've 3 dc too. Its so hard to up the exercise routine so to speak. We usually do a family swim at our local pool on a sunday. And i walk to collect ds2 from school. Ive decided to start ice skating again...bit of a waste of time tonight though (see above post lol) but I will not be put off...I Won't...I won't...

LoveMyGirls · 24/02/2009 08:22

Hi I got on the scales this mornings..........2lbs off might go swimming again tomorrow night and see if I can shift a bit more, I've not been to WW for a few weeks because I was scared I'd have to pay so wanted to make sure I was within my 5lb limit before going again!

I will be good again today!

Weak points are snacking, drinking and not enough exercise!

upagumtree · 24/02/2009 10:01

Hello Lovemygirls. Well done on the 2lbs off...my scales are broken and need to get a new set so haven't weighed myself in over a week. Doesn't feel as though i've lost anything though. Was looking at your top tips list and wondering if you are doing the paul McKenna CDs?

madhairday · 24/02/2009 14:31

Well done LMG, sounds like you have lots of willpower.
Finding motivation v difficult atm Got to the gym this morningfor first time in aaages, was good, but felt so wobbly and fat and want to be all toned. ho hum.
Have been good (ish) so far today

Had cornflakes and cup of tea for brekkie
Had some banana cake (bad) after the gym as was feeling low blood sugar, know should have just had banana lol)
Had cheese sandwich for lunch, and cup of coffee.
So not bad, not great. Pancakes tonight tho - ah well, can't always be good...

NEED MOTIVATION. where can I find some??

Hi to all new thread people, hi to oldies too

lilolilmanchester · 24/02/2009 15:45

hi all... well done from me too for the weight loss LMG and well done for going to the gym MHD. Everyone seems to be doing really well with the healthy eating, am trying to envisage the day when I can drink soda water and kid myself it's Cava... will give it a go.
I had a banana for breakfast (took some night nurse last night and was so groggy, couldn't get up early enough to have cereal!) Had tomato soup, a roll, and yoghurt in the canteen today (managed to ignore the gorgeous looking lasagne and pie options) and have just had a go-ahead bar.
Pancakes for us tonight too, will try to resist having too many!

upagumtree · 24/02/2009 15:56

Have already had pile of extremely fattening scrumptious pancakes...so think diet is blown again today and will need to start over again tomorrow. Having healthy dinner tonight though to try and convince myself I'm still on track.
Impressed with lilolil's willpower in canteen todayand Madhairdays gym visit. Well done girls

allovertheplace · 24/02/2009 16:41

Well done LMG! There's nothing like a forthcoming wedding for motivation - that's the only time I've been able to really stick to a diet, (DH still laughs about the time he came in and found me weighing Twiglets). And good on you MHD for venturing to the Gym. Lack of exercise is where I fall down. I guess I'm hoping that if I can shift a bit of weight I'll find more energy for energetic pursuits. Lilo - nice one on bypassing the pies - I sooo wouldn't be able to do that so thanking my lucky stars that my place of work doesn't have a canteen ,(and I'm too lazy to walk to the nearest shop).

Today I've done ok so far, in spite of the fact that I've been working from home which is always a danger (too easy to have frequent coffee breaks). Went to Tesco after dropping DD at school and got loads of WW and lo fat snacks and haven't strayed yet. We're avoiding pancakes today and having defrosted homemade lentil soup with WW crusty rolls for tea.

I don't beat myself up if I succumb to something fattening if I still manage to have at least one healthy meal in a day. Every little helps and every healthy meal is, in a sense, a decision not to pig out!

Tomorrow is another day, as they say.

Tonights danger zone is 9 pm and Mistresses.

upagumtree · 24/02/2009 23:26

Awww Man!!!! Hubbie took out to v. posh bar for drinks. Well I couldnt say "no" could I? So had several glasses of wine...out of politenes of course . OK I PROMISE i'll be back on track tomorrow.

LoveMyGirls · 25/02/2009 08:00

Hi everyone, thanks

We had pancakes last week because i got it wrong I'd already blown my diet for the week because of half term (made far too many sweet things with the kids)

I was fairly good yesterday, i had

shreddies
cheese and tom quiche and salad
(resisted the cakes that looked amazing!)
sausage sandwich (for quickness and because everyone was either ill or out)
good for you bar
(went to bed and fell asleep really early - sleep is good for weight loss btw)
Then dp came home with curry and chips and woke me to share it with him WHOOPS!!

Upagum - no I've never done the paul Mckenna just WW and a combination of things I've picked up along the way and found to have worked for me

Today is a new day......I've just had weetabix, I will be good!

upagumtree · 25/02/2009 11:20

Yes also planning on being good today. Have had a bowl of Special K with berries and two cups of tea so far this morning. Exercise this morning will consist of being on hands and knees scrubbing Ds3's vomit off my cream carpet!

allovertheplace · 25/02/2009 11:32

Hi Ladies

Also trying to be good, (apart from a nutella filled crepe for breakfast instead of something more filling). In work and have brought all my stuff in with no extra naughty treats or temptations around, so that will help. For the first time this week I've got hunger pangs though, (it's been an unusually slow morning at work so haven't been as busy as normal so attention is wandering). I don't want to eat all the food I've brought in too early so trying to resist having lunch til 12.00 - not long to go now!

Remarkably, I've been eating too few points this week so far, so I'm bumping things up today to try to reach the daily total, (i.e., proper cup a soup instead of slimming one, etc).

Onwards and upwards everyone!

allovertheplace · 25/02/2009 12:05

Curses! Have just pulled my paltry lunch out of the bag and I've managed to absentmindedly bring less Ryvita than planned - what a numpty!

Am gutted!

CrackerNut · 25/02/2009 12:34

Can I join ?

Have been on my diet now for about 2 weeks and so far have lost 3lbs. I am not following any diet in particular, but am trying to cut out as much bread as possible and so have gone from eating up to 9 slices of white bread a day to a max of 2 slices of wholegrain.

So far today, I have had...

1 bowl of Oats and more
2 cups of tea
1 bowl of WW chicken soup
1 slice of wholegrain bread
1 Tracker bar

Had planned to have turkey stir fry for dinner but the shop had no stir fry veg so as it is only me here tonight, i'm having a WW meal.

upagumtree · 25/02/2009 12:48

Hello crackernut Well done on losing 3lbs in 2 weeks. Ive only lost 2lbs and ive been dieting for 6 weeks. Might have something to do with severe lack of willpower with wine. But tonight Im going to be good and avoid it. Well done on cutting down the bread intake btw. I'm sure you'll see and feel a big difference.

LoveMyGirls · 25/02/2009 12:56

Alloverthe place - cous cous is a fab thing to take to work, easy, filling, healthy etc and you can have it on it's own or have it with salad or a couple of ryvita or crackerbread etc. I'm eating the morrocan one now and it's got quite a kick to it but the kids like it so can't be too hot!

LoveMyGirls · 25/02/2009 12:57

Cracker meant to say (you prob all know this already) bulk out your WW meal with loads of veg and try to eat the veg first but stop when you're full. You can do it!!

lilolilmanchester · 25/02/2009 13:58

quick post, am at work. Had a baked potato with beans for lunch plus a yoghurt. I know some people might think it's boring writing down on here what you eat, but I find it helpful.
I had more pancakes than I should last night - but really enjoyed them so am not going to feel guilty.
Hi to Crackernut - well done for your weight loss so far!!

upagumtree · 25/02/2009 14:44

Well done lilolil on a nice healthy lunch. I really dont know whats wrong with me just now, this last week i've seriously fallen by the wayside. Had been mostly really good since starting but this week my willpower is at an all time low. Scales also broken so have no idea how much weight I have lost put on.
Starting back work in a couple of weeks. Too frightened to put uniform back on as i know it will definately not be able to pull zip up on trousers

CrackerNut · 25/02/2009 17:24

Well I just had my WW meal and am still very hungry and so want to do cheese on toast, but I am not going to.

Will do my wii fit once my dinner has gone down to take my mind off it.

madhairday · 25/02/2009 18:31

Not done too well today
some friends came over who I hadn't seen for a few months, and we went out for lunch to the carvery, you know the pile your plate for a fiver sort...not great at resisting temptation, me. but did resist pudding (altho mainly because too full )
Ah well, start tomorrow in earnest.
Wel done everyone else, sounds like you're doing well. welcome CrackerNut.

mogs0 · 25/02/2009 19:25

Can I join too please?

I don't have a weighing scales so not sure exactly what I weigh but I'm fairly sure I need to lose about 4st. I'm currently a size 18/20 and would like to drop to a 12/14.

I've been trying to cut out snacking between meals because this is my major downfall. I eat out of boredom.

I've given up chocolate for Lent but maybe I should have given up all sweet treats and not just choc!!

Today, I went to my first aqua-aerobics class. It lasted about 45 mins and, apart from being a little unco-ordinated, I managed it quite well! Ds' school is up a very big hill and takes approx 30mins to get there. I try to walk at least 7 out of the 10 trips there a week but sometimes get a lift if I really can't be bothered.
