Hi All
Well done on your weight loss Loler. Nice one!
Madhairday: I find that following a plan is the only way I can lose weight. I had a bit of success with WW in the past but I was allowed more points back then. This time round I was working with 17 points a day and when you consider they allow you around 2 points for a medium sized banana you can see how I struggled. It is a decent plan though if you like all of the things that are free on it. I didn't go to a group, which may have helped me. I don't know.
Current one is Slimming World and I've joined a group with that one. Once you figure out the Green and Original days and what's free etc, it's fairly straightforward and there seems to be less weighing going on, (but more cooking as opposed to relying on the odd WW ready meal). The group gives me that extra encouragement to stick to it as all losses and gains are read out and discussed!
Of the two, Slimming World feels healthier as I'm doing more cooking from scratch and there's less room for sugary snacks. DD who is four and a half loves all of the recipes I do but I do also let her have her favourite kids meals, (nuggets, chips etc) now and again, as they're easy to bung in the oven while I'm working away at the hob. Did a stir fry last night with a selection of veggies and some noodles and some quorn chicken-like pieces. That was all free food. I felt stuffed afterwards so wasn't raking around for snacks later on.
Today I'm having my first original day, so just off to have grilled bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms and a couple of eggs done in fry light. All free! May have a quorn sausage sandwich for lunch, (sausages are free, bread is a "healthy extra" so restricted to two slices of wholemeal). Tea will probably be steak, (free), veg, (free) and SW chips, (the second healthy extra). I can snack on fruit and muller lite yogurts all day til they come out of my ears plus if I fancy anything else I can have them as "Syns", up to 15 - (a cadbury chocolate finger is 1.5 syns).
