I started [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/673982-so-3-double-G-amp-Ts-and-a-bo x-of this thread]] after Christmas, but like many others I've slipped back into my old ways. Half term was particularly bad and need to kick-start healthy eating/weight loss. Anyone from that thread or any new people care to join me?

am i too late?

just got back from a ski trip with an alarming amount of mirrors in the accomodation, and two pairs of salopettes that i can barely get into... such that when they were done up, i could either breathe OR get my boots on, but not both... it was either that or ski naked... it is time to find a weight loss thread i fear.

i need to lose between 1 1/2 and 2 stone (suspect 2, but the batteries in the scales have died lol)

will weigh in tomorrow if there's room for one more? intend general cutting down and upping of non-existent exercise... i did quite well last year but family circs went a bit haywire, so it (and more) is all back again... only 5'2" so less room to spread the excess out lol.

wabbit · 28/02/2009 00:12

Hi Loler!
It does seem quite user friendly - I just can't be doing with cooking two sets of meal or weighing every little thing so the calculator thingy is brilliant

Madwomanintheatic - I need to lose just over 2 stone to get back into clothes that I love

i've expanded steadily since having ds - suddenly I really feel my weight makes me less ME...

I've attempted to jump on one of these threads a couple of times but without anything structured to follow from home.

Now DP (who's a fabulous cook which hasn't made things easy) and dd are both pleased I've made the decision to slim.

my weaknesses are deli counter meats... olives... mayo and WINE!!!

My strategy is to get through lent without any wine full stop... (It'll do my uni work heaps of good)

Then to 'earn' points for wine each week with exercise

Coldtits · 28/02/2009 00:22

Weight - 12 stone 6
Height - 5'3
Target - smaller jeans
Weak points - bread. Chips. Fatty meat. CHEESE.

upagumtree · 28/02/2009 00:22

hi Mabs. How have you been getting on this week. Cutting back on the wine eh?

Welcome Wabbit and Madwomanintheattic

Have been very bad tonight. DH came home with chinese take away food which was delicious...and i scoffed the lot. I shared and enjoyed a bottle of rose wine with Dh and am now on second bottle.

Loler Hope you are enjoying your wine tonight too

Coldtits · 28/02/2009 00:31

Also

Am doing weight watchers, back on it after losing 2 stone last year. I've put 5 lbs back on and still have about 3 stone to go, so...

I get 20 points a day.

I've had - onion toastie (like a cheese toastie without the cheese) - 2 points

Pollack, chips and heaps of veg - 5.5 points
ww yog - 0.5 points

Turkey, veg and noodle chow mein, HUGE plateful, HUGE... 8 points.

1/2 pint skimmed milk - 1 point
4teaspoons sugar - 1 point.

Total - 18 points.

wabbit · 28/02/2009 00:34

Heya upagumtree!

I see you're all posting what you've eaten in a day

3 rice cakes (yes, by choice! I actually like them feeling like polystyrene in my mouth 2tsp butter - it has to be butter!

mulligatawny soup
carrot sticks
danone activia yoghurt

carrot sticks
lean pork steak with march sauce (fabulously tasty and practically no fat)
Rice and peas

I was very concious of portion size today as this is a bit of a downfall with me... i'll eat til I'm about to burst

Wish there was someone near me that i could go skating with... I love skating and it's fantastic for your legs and bum

upagumtree · 28/02/2009 00:41

Yes but not good for knees, elbows and hips unfortunately

wabbit · 28/02/2009 00:44

Hmm you look as though you know your way around this points system Coldtits

Do you go to meetings or did you lose your 2st from doing it online?

Think it's fantastic that so many of you have lost so much weight...

wabbit · 28/02/2009 00:47

ha ha... no, not good for that!

last time i went someone took me out from behind - i was furious spluttering with indignation whilst flat on my back- poor bloke was so apologetic

upagumtree · 28/02/2009 01:01

the lengths we girls will go to, to lose some weight eh?

LoveMyGirls · 28/02/2009 08:18

Hey everyone,

Fingers crossed for you all to do well We all seemt o be on the shorter side so we understand how even when you are not really heavy a bit of weight can make you feel much bigger.

My stomach is the bit I really need to work on but I didn't do sit ups yesterday though I did do a bit of shopping which weighed a fair bit but then I came home and drank vodka (with diet mixers though) but then I had a twix and a ww cake bar which I probably didnt need!

Today is a new day, I've just had shreddies I might go on the wii fit when dd2 has finished watching her programme though I need to go out early today so I might not have time by then.

loler · 28/02/2009 10:30

Enjoyed wine last night but not enjoying the headache this morning! Have cut back loads recently and don't seem to be able to handle it - didn't even manage my full 9 point bottle!

I get 23 points a day but am on the cusp of a point 2lbs and I lose one - mixed blessings!

Off to take the dog out

wabbit · 28/02/2009 10:32

Morning

LMG... weren't you a resident of the Sept 05 postnatal thread?

Planning on getting my pilates dvd out today and a walk with the boy

breakfast
3 rice cakes with tsp jam -2pts
danone Activia fat free - 1pt

wabbit · 28/02/2009 10:35

Ah now I'd love a dog to walk! a bouncy springer would be my dream...

I get 21 points a day

madwomanintheattic · 28/02/2009 12:28

i've got two labs lol, you can borrow them anytime mud and water a speciality.

i'm doing a uni course as well - i can't think of anything that would help motivate me to do more work though - i'm so behind with everything!

mabs - hello!

having just got back from hols, i'm off to sainsbo's today to do sensible food shopping. (and obviously batteries for the scales)

my horoscope today suggests i tell lots of people about my new exercise plan so i guess that's an omen

porridge for breakfast (with no cream or sugar lol) so i've started

i might have to dust off the davina dvds to complement the increased dog walking...

i'll be twig thin in no time...

loler · 28/02/2009 12:30

Dogs do get you moving - even on horrible rainy nights (although do leave those to dh!). Ours is a beagle.

I've got an 05 boy too - he's April so thankfully going to school in September - he's very hard work!

Trying to think of something nice for lunch.

madwomanintheattic · 28/02/2009 12:37

all mine are at school youngest started in september. she's fairly hard work too lol.

MABS · 28/02/2009 14:57

Hi all - upagumtree, no i have to confess a total failure on the wine front

Madwoman - things still not great with ds but i can't blame him for all the crap i'm eating and drinkin!

upagumtree · 28/02/2009 15:48

Me too Mabs. Wine is my biggest downfall and i think the reason for my extremely slow weight loss. I have been really good with my biscuits, chocolate and crisps abstinence and really dont miss them very much at all. If i could get a grip with the vino issue i think i'd do much better weight loss wise.

madwomanintheattic · 28/02/2009 17:49

is school sorted now? things same-ish here, but again, suspect now it's got to be my willpower that sorts this lard out lol...

i have to confess to all and sundry that i may be replacing biscuits with those ryvita fruit and seedy things... not quite giving up, i know, but it's got to be a start lol...

sainsbo's mission completed and lots of fruit and veg in the house, and no total nasties, so finger's crossed. forgot the batteries though but it's not like i can't see what the problem is...

wabbit · 28/02/2009 19:14

I do miss having a dog, when I lost my last two I just felt it wasn't practical to get another... I don't miss the muddy paws and soaking coats but the walking and enjoying watching them love the world soooooo much!!

Has anyone else experienced really bad headaches when they start a diet? is it some kind of withdrawral?

loler - I run a tiny kindergarten so I have 4 or more at a time! I'm studying to be a Waldorf Kindergarten teacher.

didn't do the walking today (headache so severe and very unusual) but did do pilates and ds joined in!

Just about to have

Jacket potato - 2.5pts
baked beans - 1pt
fish fingers - 3.5

Then I'll have 2 points left

loler · 28/02/2009 19:58

just been and googled Waldorf Kindergarten - what a lovely idea. Are you going to teach at a school or use the concepts in your own nursery?

I too am having beans (2 points), jacket pot (2 points) and cauldron sausages (2 points each - suprised that they are so high) - have got 6 points left - glass of something maybe cider and a chunk of chocolate.

wabbit · 28/02/2009 20:21

I've been asked to set up a kindergarten for a biodynamic beauty products company... a workplace facility so I'm in the process of getting my business plan and funding application ready and of course the dreadded ofsted registration

Oooh it's exciting thinking i might actually make this diet work... wouldn't be able to do it without this though, I just don't have the will power!

CrackerNut · 01/03/2009 09:54

I am trying to get myself back on the wagon as it's only 12 weeks until my holiday, and ideally I want to have lost at least half a stone before then if not a whole one.

Have had boiled egg and toast for breakfast, will be having WW soup for lunch and then pork, veg and new potatoes for dinner.

wabbit · 01/03/2009 13:39

Hi CrackerNut... (is that a robbie coltrane thing? for a big guy, he's got soooo much charisma... I wouldn't say no! )

So far today

Porridge with 1/4 pint milk - 2.5 pts

Yesterday's headache seems to be much better today really took me out for the day.

Good luck to everyone to keep on-track

does anyone want me to compile stats for this thread?

I was thinking: starting weight - height - weight lost per week - current weight

or something along those lines bit like they do on WW

Wabbit: 11st 5lb - 5'4" - First Week
