I started [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/673982-so-3-double-G-amp-Ts-and-a-bo x-of this thread]] after Christmas, but like many others I've slipped back into my old ways. Half term was particularly bad and need to kick-start healthy eating/weight loss. Anyone from that thread or any new people care to join me?

'See' you when you get back allovertheplace Have a safe journey - and enjoy the break from your diet... the only way to do it really

I had a chinese last night as we ended up very late at the new kindergarten... king prawns in bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. It's so difficult to guage how many points are going to be in a take-away meal, just chose the healthiest I could and left a huge amout of points to cover it! (15pts!)

today - Orange, apple, 2 ryvita with light philadelphia and smoked salmon.

My teen's being a total idiot and hasn't gone to college today, choosing instead to sleep in her pit of a room where all her lovely clothes and things she buys and gets bought for her are just strewn in a shamozzle of shit on the floor - I feel like taking a bucket of water up and tipping it on her and then burning the whole contents of the room on a bonfire.

God teenagers just aren't worth it.

Anyway... hope everyone else has a lovely day and does really well with their diets.. i'll pop in again later.

madairyMilkEggday · 02/04/2009 12:41

have a good time away allover, prob missed you by now.
Wabbit, sounds a yummy chinese, sometimes these things just have to be done... aaaaagh at your dd's room, my dd is the same and only 8, there's no hope lol.
Weighed myself this morning, sillily as had only done so yesterday so of course sods law that that 1lb has gone back on - sigh - so 10st 6 again. But have to tell myself it's only a pund. Prob that twirl I ate yesterday (slapped wrist). Trying to be good today.

wabbit · 02/04/2009 16:35

Oh, it's always like that if you weigh yourself from one day to the next! you'll find if you stick to how you were doing last week you'll be able to see the change in your weight in a weeks time (teaching grandmother to suck (dairymilk) EGGS obviously !

How are you doing today Gumtree? Was only joking with the tut-tutting

wabbit · 02/04/2009 16:37

Oh and NO... there is no hope! really, I think homeless teens have more pride in their surroundings and personal effects than dd does - everything I say is just so much hot air... I'm at my wits end with her... think I need advice from Custardo!!

upagumtree · 02/04/2009 19:09

Have lost 3lbs!!!! Now 9lbs 10 Yippeee!!!

Stared doing wii fit todaytoo. Aw it's brilliant. Have done over an hours worth of exercise (hope novelty doesn't wear off though )

Wabbit - you make teens sound so tempting.

Oh and I know want dairy milk choc - advertisers dream me!

loler · 02/04/2009 21:00

loler - don't know what you can do that's low cal with your eggs, but we blow eggs and then decorate them and hang them in our 'easter tree' as a table decoration/nature table decoration... looks v pretty

don't blame you for having a break - keep happy

went power walk instead of a jog tonight as have found last two times out so difficult.

my weigh-in tomorrow

MABS · 03/04/2009 08:59

well, am doing very badly with the food and drink out here in dubai, and not been to gym yet either well done to you all for the losses

madwomanintheattic · 03/04/2009 09:06

upagumtree, that's fab!!!!

i, however, have been eating bread constantly since the day before yesterday trying to dislodge a fishbone stuck somewhere around my epiglottis lol. doc appointment at 9.45 to tell me i've been hallucinating and it's a scratch. but at least i'll be able to stop eating bread and porridge and swilling it down with bucketloads of hot drinks to persuade myself it'll help.

and that's not even an excuse lol. it's been really boring eating plain bread solidly!

mabs - i still don't feel sorry you. nuh uh, not even a little bit lol. hope you're having a lovely time.

madwomanintheattic · 03/04/2009 09:07

wabbit - ugh on teens. i might give mine away at 10.

madairyMilkEggday · 03/04/2009 10:39

WELL DONE GUMTREE!!!! That's fab. You sound so motivated, keep at it!
Oh madwoman that sounds really unpleasant re the fishbone, hope the doc can help.
Loler, hmmm low cal ideas for eggs.....can't think really, lol...think we just have to write off Easter a little bit then get back to it after.
School holidays have started here and we're going out for a family lunch,...I know I won't be careful because I'm crap when it comes to going out for meals. But i'll be careful the rest of the day, does that count?
Onwards and upwards we go...

wabbit · 03/04/2009 11:24

morning all (wabbit looks at clock... yup, still morning )

DP and I have had a run of bad nights re sleeping... night before last,12am dd had locked herself out so an attempt at an early night failed as I got up to let her in... 1.30amds woke wondering where his balloon was (tied to bottom of bed!) 4.30am cat woke threatening the production of a furball onto the duvet... (rapid ejection from bedroom)
Poor DP doesn't sleep deeply like I do and suffers terribly with insomnia if he gets disturbed.
last night: Another earlyish night for dp as I finished on the computer... I take 'the secret life of a slummy mummy' to bed and get thouroughly absorbed until 1.30... 2.30 ds wets bed (poor lamb) dp does the pj change and I do the sheets... 4.20am the smoke alarm goes off... I do a thorough reccy of the house, following my nose for sneaky smokey sniffs - nothing, I pass the offending smoke alarm on my return upstairs to find a (deafened) spider making it's exit (also feel a bit sorry for spider as it must have come as a big shock - generally pleased that it hadn't been a smouldering plug)

Poor dp not a happy chappy as I leap from bed at 6.30 to tell dd she's got to get up - only to find to my surprise that she's already dressed and applying huge amounts of make-up.

You can tell I've been reading Slummy Mummy can't you - i'm facinated now by the minutae of domestic habitation!!!

and of course trying to put off the moment I go out to weigh myself!

Fish bone sounds horrible - hope it's vacated your epiglotis after thorough reccy by doc madhairday...

will post later

upagumtree · 03/04/2009 12:00

Oh Madwoman ~ fishbone sounds most unpleasant. Hope all is resolved by your gp visit. And also hope you have not been put off bread for life!!!

What can I say wabbit! Even in the depths of your despair you always seem to make me laugh...think it's the way you tell 'em for ds's wet night and for said deaf spider

Also for me. Wii fit told me this morning that I have put 2 lbs on since yesterday? Wtf?? How does that happen????? think must have a dodgy wii balance board...yes...that must be it

Hope you are having a great time Mabs!

wabbit · 03/04/2009 12:20

that's it then gumtree - if your wii board's doing a wobbly on you... I'm not venturing to Boots till I've done a poo!!

wabbit · 03/04/2009 12:21

did I really just post that?

upagumtree · 03/04/2009 12:50

Lol. Maybe that why I was 2lb heavier then

madwomanintheattic · 03/04/2009 14:55

thorough throat recce by doc. she 'thinks' it has gone and is now just scratched, but if i can't breathe over the weekend or experience stabbing pain (lol) i should go straight to a&e.

oh, and she told me i'm coming down with tonsillitus.

hey ho.

i may have to break out the vino to wash the bread down lol.

upagumtree - that's bizarre. don't believe it. ignore ignore.

allovertheplace · 03/04/2009 15:16

Yoohoo Everyone! Just jumped on to FIL's laptop so thought I would say a quick Hi!

Well done for those of you who've lost weight. Gumtree - you star! Don't forget to weigh yourself at roughly the same time of day each time if using the Wii fit and try to wear the same sort of clothing and choose the same clothing settings - I find that works for me and keeps me showing loss of weight!

I'm completely off the wagon.... in fact, said wagon is merely a speck far away in the distance .......... What can I say - I'm in the land where they deep fry pizza! The 'Do' is tonight and I ended up having to let my dress out. . Ah well. Thems the breaks.

Will try to get back on the wagon on Sunday when I'm heading back home.

Be back sooooooooonnnnnnnn .........

madwomanintheattic · 03/04/2009 15:22

pizza, hmm.

deep fried mars bars. no. no. no. no.

enjoy y'sel hen.

wabbit · 03/04/2009 18:13

Have a great time allovertheplace

Well, weighed myself today and have lost no weight but have lost 4% of body fat over the week.

I'm very happy with this though as I was concerned over the first few weeks that this was rising rather than falling... it had reached 33% and is now 29%

so, still 10st3lb here

MABS · 04/04/2009 13:58

madwoman - hows the throat?
am now drinking my bodyweight in vino out here, dread weigh in when back. i just figure fat looks better tanned..... x

madwomanintheattic · 04/04/2009 14:50

fat looks fabulous tanned. skinny and tanned looks like leather lol

i can say that as i'm a fetching shade of pale blue.

throat not too bad. bone scratch less obvious and although generally a bit uncomfortable, the two large glasses of wine i sloshed down with a thai takeaway last night helped immensely

i figured after three days of solid bread-eating i may as well have something tasty and unnecessary and start being sensible again tomorrow lol.

so fingers crossed no trip to a&e needed

wabbit - that's great! the fat reading thingy on my scales isn't working - i can get weight but nothing else. 4% is great!!! amazing stuff!
