I've been doing WW for years but never achieved lifetime membership... all that money wasted (sob!) No, seriously, I'm going back to get rid of at least a stone & it would help to have a 'buddy'! Anyone?

been out for a 4km run this morning in a last ditch attempt before weigh in at lunchtime.

although have been extra good this week but did succumb to a cadburys caramel egg that had been sat on the kitchen unit glaring at me since Saturday, twas very very very nice. I managed to eat it really slowly (well it lasted about 5 mins, but it seemed slow )

lost 1/2 a lb - 1/2 a blooming pound after all that effort! Oh well, at least it was off rather than on, but still.

Yay 1st stone down, 2 more to go

Had weigh in this morning, lost 3lbs this week, so 15 in total!

Have pigged out ever since

amazonianwoman · 16/02/2009 18:04

It's all gone quiet...

How's everyone doing?!

I ate pretty much non-stop Fri Sat & Sun (probably put a couple of pounds back on ) but back on track today

Let's keep visualizing ourselves in those skimpy summer outfits. I still need a hell of a lot of vision but I'm determined I won't have to hide in baggy clothes this year.

bohemianbint · 19/02/2009 20:54

hello, I've just come back to WW after doing W for 3 months, fancied a change. It's going really well, apart from having eaten 12 mini eggs today - they're a point each goddammit.

amazonianwoman · 19/02/2009 22:33

Hello! I was getting lonely...

Do you mean the little hard chocolate speckled mini eggs (Cadburys)? They're only 4 points for 12

DreamingAboutSleep · 19/02/2009 22:47

Hello, can I join in too? I've been doing WW online for the last 4 weeks, have been losing half a pound (yes that's right a whole half pound a week!) so far.

Having been reading the whole thread and your all very inspiring!! The most inspiring thing I have read so far is that 12 mini eggs are only 4 points surely that can't be right?????

amazonianwoman · 19/02/2009 23:11

Hello! Just checked the packet - 1 egg is 15cals & 0.4g saturated fat, which works out at 0.5points each. But when you put 12 x the serving size into the online calculator it works it out as 4 points. I think! Perhaps I should check??!

Half a pound off a week is better than half a pound on

I've got my weigh in tomorrow morning - had a rubbish long weekend and haven't really been logging points this week cos it's half-term and my parents have been staying, so it's been hectic. Hoping I haven't put on weight...

amazonianwoman · 19/02/2009 23:16

I mean the little speckled malteser type ones, not the mini creme egg ones

bohemianbint · 20/02/2009 09:02

Amazonian - I couldn't find them online, what did you type in?! I ended up working it out manually off the packet and then weighing 6 eggs (ffs!)

I would freaking love it if they were only 4 points, I was quite and had to have dust for tea to compensate. But I figured that a square of Green and Black's is 0.5 so one of those eggs must be at least that?

Either way, I need to fit in a wedding dress in 2 months so there will be no more of that for me...

DreamingAboutSleep · 20/02/2009 15:00

I'm sooooo pleased to hear that mini eggs are 4 points for 12 and Green and Blacks is 0.5 a square! I hadn't even checked out chocolate as just assumed it was a definate no-no. It's brightend up my day.

Just have to get through drinks and dinner at GBK with non dieting, slim friends without eating my remaining points for the month !!

sparklesandwine · 19/03/2009 17:08

WHATS GOING ON???? HAVE YOU ALL GIVEN UP!!!

I've just found this to come back to after loosing my laptop for a few weeks and you've all buggered off.....

sparklesandwine · 20/03/2009 14:04

I hadn't been for about 3 weeks and went back last week to find i had put on 2lbs (not bad really), was the weigh in last night and i have stayed the same

not too bad i suppose but i have been a bit lapse to say the least recently so have now got my tracker back out

rosieposey · 23/03/2009 10:19

Hello Im going to ww this lunchtime - have LOADS of weight to lose but will take it a stone at a time.

Is this the ww thread? Just thinking that it would be nice to get some support as im rubbish at dieting but did have some success on ww a few years ago.

I have a six week old lo and just feel like i need to do something as am sitting at home, not getting out enough and scoffing myself silly ... Would be nice to be a couple of stone lighter by the end of the summer at least

sparklesandwine · 23/03/2009 14:13

Hi rosie

yes i need support too!! even if its just us two on here we can keep each other going

My meetings are on thursdays, but i sometimes need a bit of help/support to keep me going inbetween the meetings. i have about another 10-12 lb to loose, i have lost about 6lb so far I too have had another baby, she's 5mths now

How did you get on today?

tomanykidstoname · 23/03/2009 17:56

im going back to ww on thursday n not looking forward to it i had to stop going in feb cuz i was ill but i think iv put all the weight back on

sparklesandwine · 24/03/2009 12:11

you'll be fine tomany

rosie how are you getting on?

i've been trying very hard this week so hopefully i will shift the lbs i had put on the other week!

wickedwitchofwestfield · 25/03/2009 09:20

hi there ladies- can I join?

I used to do SW - but it just wasn't working for me so I thought I'd give WW a try. I joined 2 weeks ago and it unfortunately coincided with a pretty miserable week+combined with my horrible water retention due to PMT, I managed to put on 6.5lb in my first week. lol.

however, I have been sticking to it like a demon this week so I'm hoping for good results at my WI on friday.

I'm currently meant to be having 28 points ( - shocking I know!!) but I'm really finding it hard to get to this amount everyday, I normally find myself around 22/24 but obviously I quite like having the extra points in hand ifyswim? do you think not having all my allocated points everyday will affect my weight loss? my dad reckons I should have them as it may affect my metabolism but I'm not sure? the website said that you have to have all your saved points by the next weigh in!!!

tia x

sparklesandwine · 25/03/2009 10:26

Hi yes join us!

i'd talk to your leader about the points thing, if your struggling to meet the amount each week then there's no point eating 'junk' just to make up your points iyswim - you could have an extra bowl of cereal or slice of toast and jam or something if you wanted to 'make it up' though

the other week at our meeting the leader was saying she was eating 6 small meals a day, she split her points by 6 and had small meals/snacks every 2/3 hours through the day and she was loosing 2lb a week doing this! I haven't tried it yet but think i might!!

wickedwitchofwestfield · 25/03/2009 10:47

Hi there - thanks!

I think that splitting it into 6 thing might work for me, I may give it a go!

I think I'll see what my weight loss (I am being positive here, I know I have lost, even if its only 0.5lb!) is and take it from there - but I will speak to her and see what she says

I'm finding that I have so much more energy than I did on SW - I think I was so focussed on cramming in as many carbs as I could that I didn't really think about the amount of veg I was (or wasn't) eating, this week I've been eating a big side bowl of veg to bulk out my meals, whereas before I'd have just eaten more pasta...

I have a really good feeling about my weight loss on this diet

sparklesandwine · 25/03/2009 10:52

i tried sw once and found the same as you with the carbs, i didn't enjoy it and i felt really bloated and crappy on it!

i've been a gold member for about 7 years with WW - i go back every now and then to maintain my weight, i've not long had a baby so i now have the baby weight to loose!

wickedwitchofwestfield · 25/03/2009 11:09

yeah, it worked for me about 7 years ago, and I lost about 5 stone on it, but I think my body is just having none of it now because as you said, I just felt sluggish and crappy and had no enrgy to go to the gym or anything whereas now I'm really looking forward to going swimming lol

fingers crossed for WW!

s'cuse my ignorance - whats a gold member? does it mean you've reached your target weight and kept it off for 7 years?? if so - blimey, well done you!!
