I've been doing WW for years but never achieved lifetime membership... all that money wasted (sob!) No, seriously, I'm going back to get rid of at least a stone & it would help to have a 'buddy'! Anyone?

went to ww last night lost 3lb said this was good for first week x Asked us to do a short term goal mine was to have fish and chips when i lose a stone - motivation or what x

amazonianwoman · 16/01/2009 13:38

Lostinnappies & mummytopebs- fantastic weight losses, well done!!!

My motivation is the same - we're going on holiday in July with a few other families and all the other women are sporty, fit & slim. There's just no way that I'd enjoy myself this size (told DH that he'd have to take the kids on his own if I don't lose weight), that's why I'm so determined to lose 2.5 stone...

sparklesandwine · 16/01/2009 14:39

well i went to the meeting, so its a start!

I have 10lbs to loose to get back down to my previous goal weight but i thinking of changing it to 1 stone.....not sure yet i'll see how i get on, as i'm breast feeding i'm not too sure i want to loose too much too soon iykwim so i'm going to just aim to loose a pound a week for now

i asked about the monthly pass and the only way to activate the online stuff it is to enter your details, but you can pay monthly cash/cheque for the pass but not activate it so you'd still get the saving but not the online access - i think thats a bit of a con if i'm honest but what can you do??!! i bought the monthly pass to try the online stuff out if i find it useful i'll continue if not i may just cancel and pay by cash

Furball · 16/01/2009 14:52

thanks sparkles

god - I'm starving, just demolished a couple of sticks of celery and a handful of carrot batons for an afternoon snack (which I've never had in my life before) must go and drink a cup of bovril.

sparklesandwine · 16/01/2009 16:48

i've just bought some yogurts

i only ever eat yogurts when i'm on a diet

i really don't like them

lostinnappies · 16/01/2009 16:50

going to try and do 18 points this week am I mad to try this?

LOL at everyone's snacks - we all know we would much rather have a teryy's chocolate orange

SammyK · 16/01/2009 17:22

I am on 23 points daily at the moment so not feeling hungry yet - but points will soon reduce. I rely on a bowl of 0pt soup when kids are eating their teas as I eat later on.

Ooh chocolate orange [drool]

Furball · 16/01/2009 17:25

I bought the ww toffee yoghurts yesterday and i was very pleasantly surprised and only 1/2 a point!

Also bought WW apple crumble slices which are 1 1/2 points - they are really nice but teeny tiny so I had 2!

Sainsburys has all WW stuff half price at the moment.

amazonianwoman · 16/01/2009 17:26

How many points are you allowed lostinnappies? I can have 24 but have managed a few days on 18 - can't say I was any more hungry on those days, I think most of it is down to frame of mind. I could quite easily work my way through 50 points today!

lostinnappies · 16/01/2009 18:27

24 points

hercules1 · 16/01/2009 18:29

Can I join in please? Just started today although not going to a group. I never go back a second time.
I have the eat wisely book but that's it. Is it worth me joining on line do you think for the other info I am missing out on?

I want to do the points adn am having 22 points a day.

Furball · 16/01/2009 18:36

if you join facebook - there's a really good group there with alsorts of ideas. You could even post questions if you needed to. Most of the groups are american but there is a ww uk one

amazonianwoman · 16/01/2009 21:09

Lost - right, if you do 18 points a day, then I will too Esp as I've had 30 today - DH away and I've just munched through a whole margherita pizza

amazonianwoman · 16/01/2009 21:13

Hercules - welcome

I love the online stuff, mainly because I find it easier to track points online, look up foods etc. There's also a recipe finder/weight tracker etc etc

sparklesandwine · 17/01/2009 15:27

i'm doing really well so far....

i'm on 19 points a day but with another 10 points added on for breast feeding which is 29 a day! I actually can't manage 29 a day so have reduced it to 24 to see how i get on.......at least i know the extra is there if i really do want to pig out!!

I did a veggie curry last night using the Co-Op reduced fat sauce (cos its on offer for 50p) and it was really nice and only 1.5 points for half a jar

sparklesandwine · 17/01/2009 17:46

the online thing is doing my head in, i'm sure i'll get the hang of it at some point?!

mummytopebs · 18/01/2009 15:44

been a bit naughty this weekend had pmt so had some chocolate and really am craving a big pizza-helllp x

cariboo · 18/01/2009 20:13

V. naughty last night. Dh & I went out for dinner & I chose reasonably & no pud(!) but couldn't sleep from supposed decaf coffee & ate most of a bag of Kettle Chips. Arghhhh!

don't worry cariboo tomorrow's another day just ignore it and start from scratch 'being good' we'll all have days like that!

i think i'll be ok this week and next its always the 3rd week i struggle with - ie. 1st week its all new and being good so i loose weight, 2nd week i'm not so good but still ok as its a novelty but by the 3rd week i get bored and it goes to pot and put on or say the same so it gives me a kick up the arse and i'm 'good' again the following and so the cycle goes!

amazonianwoman · 18/01/2009 20:54

Sounds just like me Sparkles.

I had rubbish day on Friday but have been feeling really sick for 24hrs and have hardly eaten so hopefully have balanced out

sparklesandwine · 18/01/2009 20:58

lol @ resorting to feeling sick to balance things out, thats just the way i think too

mummytopebs · 18/01/2009 21:05

well i was ill for 2 days last week so my chocolate and pizza might not be to bad- fingers crossed x does anyone know what i can do if i paid to join the monthly pass at the meeting but then dh accidentally threw the piece of card away with the code to log on ww net?

sparklesandwine · 18/01/2009 21:10
