I've been doing WW for years but never achieved lifetime membership... all that money wasted (sob!) No, seriously, I'm going back to get rid of at least a stone & it would help to have a 'buddy'! Anyone?

i'm thinking of getting a wii fit to help me tone up/get fit something like that

i know a gym membership will be a waste of money but if i get a wii fit at least the dc can use it when the novelty wears off too

Furball · 14/01/2009 10:52

I started running on the couch to 5km thread last year and still do 5km 3 times a week

In theory I should look like a stick, but sadly I resemble more of the actual tree trunk

sparklesandwine · 14/01/2009 13:19

actually i don't feel too bad about last nights 'pigout' now as i've just written down my points for yesterday and even with 5 slices of veggie supreme and a glass of wine i came under by 6 points!

admittedly i'm going on the old switch way of doing it all and i don't know how that differs from the new plan.....yet!

lostinnappies · 14/01/2009 14:20

God Furball 5km 3 times a week is good going I am hoping to get to that stage soon. I can get round a 5km run but I have to stop every now and then

Got my first weigh in after I registered with WW last week (eek) i have been going to the gym loads and loads and I feel extra hungry because of it - I am struggling already

totally agree sparkles about the public weigh in being very necessary for success

Furball · 14/01/2009 14:51

Well - I'm back!

Discovered I need the appetite of a mouse There aint a lot of room for anything that isn't healthy.

I need to get it off and ship out me thinks I'm hoping to be at target by 6-8 weeks [chubby fingers crossed]

Will meal plan tonight and shop tomorrow. - bought the mag and got a free cookbook for doing the month thing.

amazonianwoman · 14/01/2009 22:52

Got my first weigh in tomorrow morning - wish me luck

I'll be absolutely gutted if I haven't lost anything. I've never stuck with point counting for a whole week...

bananapaddlepop · 14/01/2009 22:54

good luck amazonian, i'm sure you will do great.
I had my weigh in today and a really good loss, lots of christmas chocolates to get rid of first.

Mine · 15/01/2009 06:22

Good Luck for today Amazonian and well done for sticking to the points this week

Let us know how you got on
Have a great day everyone
x

Furball · 15/01/2009 07:26

yes - good luck amazonion.

One person at class had lost 8.5 lb in their first week and her sister was peaved she'd only lost 3.5 lb because of that!

shall we post our favourite recipes to give us ideas?

Furball · 15/01/2009 08:12

I bought a monthly pass but don't want to put my credit card details in to activate it - infact it's a blooming cheek, they take the money 2 weeks before it's due.

Just feel I don't want to have to remember to cancel on top. they must catch so many people out.

lostinnappies · 15/01/2009 10:16

Hi it's my weigh in tonight (eek)

i have done LOADS of excercise and stuck within my points but I truly feel as though I have not lost anything.

this week i have
done 3 x session of 40 minutes in gym

been on 3 x 30 minute runs

and done 2 x 1 hour walks with the dog
then I had a panic ... doesn't muscle weigh more than fat????

last time I did WW I felt a little slimmer each week IFYSWIM

I am just worried that I will step on the scales and it will show no weight loss and I will get disheartened and give up.

furball - I thought the monthly pass was a good idea - it wokrs out cheaper doesn't it?
and I think the online stuff is a real help.

How did it go Amazon?

lostinnappies · 15/01/2009 10:23

my fave ww receipe of all time is the green thai curry

it is on page 59 of the iirestible book you get when you buy the monthly pass.

SammyK · 15/01/2009 10:44

I tried to put my card details in to activtae my monthly pass, and it wouldn't accept it because I am currently overdrawn! It's not taking the money at that time so what does it matter?

Can you just buy one every four weeks in the meetings?? Only got it as it's cheaper over a month.

I liked the look of the thai curry, will have to try it out.

amazonianwoman · 15/01/2009 13:13

I lost 5lbs!!! in 6 days WOO HOO

Am very pleased, considering I only exercised once. I don't even have the urge to pig out today after the weigh-in

Must look up the thai green curry - that's my alltime favourite meal. Not sure the kids will eat it though? That's the most challenging part - trying to think of things we can all eat cos I can't be bothered to cook more than one meal...

sparklesandwine · 15/01/2009 14:59

i've got my weigh in tonight

do you really have to use your card details to activate the monthly pass? thats a bit odd can't you just buy them month by month at the meetings? i don't want them to take the money from my account each month i'd rather pay cash....

will give me more incentive to get back within my goal weight quicker so i don't have to pay for long!! [tight arse emoticon]

Furball · 15/01/2009 15:30

AFAIK - you do need your card details to activate - don't suppose you could ask the lady tonight if there a away round it?

thanks

lostinnappies · 15/01/2009 16:24

you only need to activate the pass online if you want to use the online tools I think.

you can buy it each month at the meetings - a lady at my meeting does not have access to the internet and she buys her's each month with a cheque.

sparklesandwine · 15/01/2009 17:06

i'll ask later

i have a list of questions for the poor woman already!

Mine · 15/01/2009 17:25

OMG Amazon thats bloomin amazing!!!
Well done you.

Furball · 15/01/2009 18:19

thanks peeps.

I'm just being abit moany because it's not fair you can't use the online stuff unless you put your credit card details in.

SammyK · 16/01/2009 09:49

amozonian - WOW! that's great well done!

I'm the heaviest I have ever been, and really want to get back to a nice slender figure. I am off on holiday end of april and may not just be our small family unit going now, so the idea of other peple I know seeing me in the pool is keepng me from pigging out! What is everyone else's motivation?

Meals that everyone will eat is a challenge here too. I have a picky eater with sensory issues (autistic), who I have to cook seperatemeals for, so don't want ot have to do me and DP seperate meals too. Curries, stews, casseroles, mince meals, etc are good for both of us here - need to meal plan.

Furball · 16/01/2009 10:23

soory amazonion with all my moaning forgot to say wow! well done, great stuff

lostinnappies · 16/01/2009 10:30

well done amazonian

I LOST 2lbs !!!!!!!!

lostinnappies · 16/01/2009 10:31

just another 33 to go

lostinnappies · 16/01/2009 10:32

how did you get on sparkles?
