Hi I'll join you! My dd is acutally 18 months and I have been struggling to lose the last bit of weight that I put on before I was pregnant. I would like to lose 1/2 stone or maybe 1 stone.

I want to do this before I start ttc again. So I'll also be healthy eating and trying to cut out evening snacking and unhealthy options.

I just haven't had the motivation recently would really help to do this alongside someone else. I'll start tomorrow as well!

Good luck x

tooBIG · 08/07/2008 11:18

Can I join? DD2 is now 7mths and I had got into the terrible (but very enjoyable) habit of eating a large bar of dairy milk or galaxy every day. Needless to say my initial post preggers weight loss (tiny that it was) stopped and have piled so much on my clothes stopped fitting a couple of weeks ago, and have stopped eating chocolate in an effort to start losing abit. Don't have any scales but imagine I must need to lose about 2 stone, have taken measurements instead. DH took a picture of me in swimming costume as well to compare in a couple of months...I have refused to look at it. Good luck

iamamummy · 08/07/2008 12:12

hi ladies

twinkle - i was back to my pre preggers weight after a week of having ds but last few months on ML its stacked back on - heres to healthy eating!! shall we have a weekly weigh in every monday?

toobig - hi! thats a great idea taking a pic before and after might have to try that one! although the thought of me in a costume at the moment

i am 5ft9 weight 12 stone 2. ideally would like to get down to 10 but happier at 9 1/2 but really thats just a dream. i have already broken the diet today and had a kfc i will also be measuring inches to at some point when i find my tape measure!

OP posts:
twinklelittlestar · 08/07/2008 13:43

Hi iamamummy yeah weekly weigh in would be a good thing to aim for. I weighed this morning and i'm 9.4 would like to get down to 8.12 initially as that's the weight i was just before getting pregnant but for years before that I was about an 8 but i don't know if i'll ever reach that again or if i even want to. i'll see how it goes.

i am 5.4 ft height so all extra weight i have shows iukwim. that's amazing that you lost all weight a week after having baby.during pregnancy put on at least 3 stone. lost most of it over the last 18 months.

Had a good day so far really knowing you are doing this as well helps. Don't worry about the kfc though just take it from here. I will also get tape measure out later and to see what I'm dealing with.

Hi as well to tooBIG...i have also got used to eating lots of things that i didn't really eat before i was pregnant like cake and chocolate. I'm still breastfeeding so i'm sure that i would weigh much more if i wasn't!

How would you all feel if i kept a record of what i am eating during the day. i think it might help me to stop snacking etc ??

iamamummy · 08/07/2008 14:36

twinkle - great idea about a food diary too - would definately help with my snacking aswell! i didnt really put on much weight whilst pregnant however i was 1 stone over weight before i fell. i didnt need to buy any maternity clothes whilst pregnant but i think i might need them now!! i used to be a 10/12 but now im a 14 biggest i have ever been.

i have heard lots of people say how bf has helped them slim down again, my ds would not take to it so in the end gave up

OP posts:
twinklelittlestar · 08/07/2008 17:50

Hi How are ya doing iamamummy & tooBIG?

ok. So far I have eaten today:

Breakfast:
50g sultana ban & 1/4 pint ss milk
2 x clementines
1/4 pear

Snack: a.m. mullerlight yoghurt (I can't remember if I had a snack this am but if I did it was a muller light yog with fruit).

lunch:lentil and sweet potato soup
2 x pieces of wholemeal bread + margerine
1 x mullerlight yoghurt & handful of blueberries and raspberries.

Snack p.m
1 peach
a few pinenuts

I usually find the evenings the hardest as I get really hungry and end up snacking loads. (How about you guys?)So wish me luck. I am determined not to snack tonight!!!! .

fifisworld · 08/07/2008 22:03

Me..i'll join..ds2 is 6 months, got my holidays in 7 weeks so im desperate.
I'm 5'3, still in size 10 clothes but im just under 10st and really just want to loose my tummy and tone up.

tooBIG · 09/07/2008 04:27

Hello all, it is just gone 4am and this is normally my first breakfast of the day, when I get up with dd2, however normally I am then starving by the the time I've done the school run and then the inevitable snacking begins. Does anyone else eat to keep up awake during the day or is it just me???

Twinkle, your healthy diet puts mine to shame, I may have cut out chocolate but my addicition to thick crusty bread and butter remains!

Welcome fifisworld! Have you got any exercise tips for tummy toning? I taped a yoga programme of sky the other day which has reintroduced my stomach muscles to me. I can't see a difference yet, but they definitely feel a bit stronger.

Think I have the most to lose out of all of us. Am currently size 16, would love to be a 10 again (distant memory!) will settle for a comfortable 12.

Hope you all have a good day!

sallyforth · 09/07/2008 07:08

Hello, can I join?
DS is nearly 5mo. I used to be a size 12 but now struggle to get into a 16 and am still in maternity jeans.
I weigh 73-74kg and would like to get down to 65kg or (preferably) less.
I have the worlds WORST jelly belly!

Have to do it quite gently as am still bf-ing and have had supply problems. So I need to eat healthily for baby as well as for me!

I have bought a post natal pilates DVD (but haven't watched it yet ) and am so desperate about the jelly belly I am going to see a physio privately on Friday (my rectus muscles havent come together properly and I don't know what exercises are ok for me to do).

Koshka · 09/07/2008 07:10

Hello, can I join?

DS is actually 2

but i lost some baby weight, but with PND rulling my life i have put it back on and i need to lose about a million stone (well 5, 6 if im lucky)

whitebeachesandcoconutoil · 09/07/2008 09:42

tooBIG · 09/07/2008 10:05

Hisallyforth,koshka and whitebeaches!

Don't worry, dd1 was nearly 4 by the time I got around to losing baby weight the first time round, and that was only with incentive of my wedding day looming!

Had my breakfast at 4am, and made large fruit salad to pick at until lunchtime. Had no chocolate for a month and can't really see much of a difference but at least i have stopped putting it on.

iamamummy · 09/07/2008 10:51

yey!!! we have new people!! loads more support! welcome to you all

i am totally writing off yesterday as it was a takeaway fest

toobig - i dont snack early hours but one of my vices is in the evening (usually watching big bro) me and dp munch into a 400g bar of whole nut and a sugary cup of tea - its always his idea though and i cannot say no

would love to hear some toning excercises!!!

im sure my jelly belly could give you a run for ya money sally - worst thing is i know it will never be flat or smooth again

il report back later when im done eating for the day lol

charlotte121 · 09/07/2008 11:12

Can I join too please.... I have a ds aged 1 and a dd aged 1 month..... its not long since i had dd but im not bf any more and i would like to try and start eating more healthier to help me lose some of the baby weight... I fell pg again straight after ds was born with dd so never had chance to lose the weight.
My goal is to fit back into my pre pregnancy skinny jeans. I think i could do with losing about 1 1/2 stone and could definatly do with toaning up.
Gooing to go to tesco and stock up on lots of health snacks and food for meals and make a meal plan that im going to follow so that i cant buy junk and cheet.
Im also going to start doing a little bit of exercise each day and go for a short walk after breakfast.

Does anyone else have any plans on how theyre going to lose weight? x

tooBIG · 09/07/2008 13:12

Have cut out chocolate and now need to cut down on the amount of carbs I have with each and every meal and do a bit of portion control. Am trying to do half an hour of exercise each night using various dvd's, but I get bored of them so quickly (and it's too easy just to fast forward the harder parts )

fifisworld · 09/07/2008 13:43

tooBIG - No real tips, im just trying to do sit up's everyday as well as at least 30 mins aerobic exercise on the wii fit!!
I must say i'm aching today so it must be doing good
Yesterday i ate:
1 slice of toast
3 ryvitas and a banana
2 chicken breast fillets with a jacket potato

I'm so proud as ds1 and dp went to the chip shop and i resisted and didn't get anything, which is a major achievment

Today ive had:
1 slice of toast
Ham and tomato sandwich
Going to dad's for tea and having lasagne and salad

kiltycoldbum · 09/07/2008 13:51

oo i might join if thats okay? though i have just eaten 4 chocolates from a box aargh! my dcs are 3yrs and 5 months so need to seriously loose some baby weight am 5ft4 and weigh 12st 8lb the shame! i was 9st before my first pg.

iamamummy i noticed you have one the same age as mine 5mnth and youre ttc, id love to try for another pretty sharpish but i wanted to ask how you delivered? i had a section and was worried if perhaps it would be too soon but hadnt asked anyone advice. Feel free to tell me to fark off and mind my own but id love some input, i want another one soon but wasnt sure of the impact itd have on me, plus i also need to do it in a very healthy way, no more junk! (i went mad in my last pg - apparently he's doomed to live as a fatty, what a load of old s@&!)

hello all by the way

kiltycoldbum · 09/07/2008 13:55

oh can i add before the 4chocs i had a penguin biscuit and a packet of skips id actually forgotton about that and was actually about to write that for brekkie i had a bowl of porridge with linseeds and for lunch batchelors pasta with salad. see!? Why do i do it, i have a real issue with compulsively eating shat!

i shall try again, though dinner is lasagne and garlic bread yummy! maybe i'll start tomorrow!
have drank a large mug of hot water and lemon and 2 pints of water on the plus side! ttfn

twinklelittlestar · 09/07/2008 14:43

Hi to everyone! welcome to all newbies

Cool to see loads more people joining in. Iamamummy: Yesterday was my first successful healthy eating day in months!

Didn't snack after evening meal either!! Just taking it a day at a time but knowing you are all doing it as well is such a great incentive to stick to it.

This is just a quick pit stop to write down what I've eaten so far today:

breakfast
sultana bran ss milk
1 clementine

snack
little bit of daughters banana whilst in the car
2 tiny kids cheese biscuits

tesco healthy living cheese sand
packet snack a jacks
muller light yog and handful of rapsberries and blueberries

tooBIG: i know what you mean re: bread and butter etc I am going to have to try and watch that too.. it is a weakness especially when I'm hungry and cooking dinner etc

will post again later but glad to see koshka and whitebeaches have older little ones as well.

Also need to start some sort of exercise again as well as keeping note of portion sizes and not having them too large!!

All the best to everyone healthy eating today.

iamamummy · 09/07/2008 14:53

kiltycoldbum - welcome!! lol at your forgotten foods of the day hehe! so far i have actually eaten nothing - which is just as bad as eating everything! course i dont mind you asking about my delivery. it was natural, was a planned homebirth but i ended up transferring to hospital at 6cm. got to hospital and demanded an epidural (which did not work) and pretty much after i was ready to push. hour of pushing and tore pretty bad internally lost quite a bit of blood too. this is the only thing that scares me about ttc again - tearing!! oh and the fact that everyone keeps telling me im mad, il leave my ds out when new baby comes along bla bla bla
i too was 9 stone once upon a time -

i am making curry for dinner tonight and will go and have an apple now as its too late for lunch.

stay good girlies

OP posts:
tooBIG · 09/07/2008 16:36

iamamummy: I tore really badly the first time too, had to go into theatre so they could stitch me up and was terrified it would happen the second time as they kept saying there would be a weak area there and had me all fitted out for a blood transfusion half way through labour, just in case. However, all was well and I didn't need any stitches at all. It was such a better experience and so much easier to recover from, so don't worry, fingers crossed you'll be fine the second time around!

Sorry, was that all too much information that wasn't asked for?!

iamamummy · 09/07/2008 17:01

toobig - thanks for that! i love reassurance stories. sounds like you had a terrible time though luckily i didnt have to go to theatre! i will be planning a home birth again if and when it happens. great to know the second labour was easier

OP posts:
sallyforth · 09/07/2008 18:31

Right so far I have had:

Breakfast - 4 bits of toast, 1 bowl of cereal
Snack - muesli bar
Lunch - pasta salad
Cafe - 1 chocolate brownie, 2 lattes
Supper - a surprise! I am not cooking it!!

Hmmm not bad I think (considering I am bf-ing) but I could have had skinny lattes instead.

Today I have NOT TOUCHED any of the chocolate in the house!! yay!!

tooBIG · 09/07/2008 19:40

sallyforth: respect! Very difficult job to have chocolate in a nearby proximity and not touch it, well done!

Ok, I have just done my little bit of exercise. I tried doing SHiva Rea (?) Creative Core Abs which I sky plus-ed earlier. Think I must have been doing it wrong though as my abs feel fine but my arms are killing me!!

whitebeachesandcoconutoil · 09/07/2008 19:42
