Hi there

Lostgirl & Iamamummy have your days been going well & foodwise too?

iamamummy scales are a bummer! Mine haven't shifted either... we can all start again! (2 lbs is really ok though...likely water and can vary anyway). we can still loose. we've all just got through 'summer' and maybe it'll be a little easier to stick to something now it looks like autumn here. We're all a 14 so maybe we'll drop together. size 12 sounds good to me too .

Good on you both for getting back into it again. Hows it gone today?
I have been trying the last couple of days and start off well and then the day goes down hill with snacking and the like.today going well until i met with an apple and blackberry crumble!I did enjoy it though. Just don't like the feeling i've got now after eating 2 portions!

i don't want to seriously start trying for another baby until i have lost the baby weight and the time i was thinking about is about jan-march time so i really need to get a move on. i've lost weight before so i know i can do it. just need the motivation/enthusiam to overcome the initial discomfort when stopping snacking etc.

i'm gonna try again tomorrow

iamamummy · 04/09/2008 09:42

hi twinkle!

thats the spirit skinny sexy 12s together!! wooo!

know what you mean as the day goes on it gets harder. on tuesday i did sooo well then when dp came home we had a beer and some pork scratchings then i ended up having the same dinner as him which wasnt particularly healthy, then before bed a mug of hot chocolate and a kit kat

however i weighed myself and had dropped to 12.1 in 2 days.

yesterday i was soooo good and lost nothing

i actually dreamt of kfc last night - a big mound of drmsticks and coleslaw on my worktop waiting to be eaten....then i woke up

we have a big night out next sat for dps birthday so i really want to shed atleast 1 belly roll to look a little attractive 4 him.

lost girl - how have you done this week?!!

twinkle - that crumble sounds mmmmmmmm

LostGirl · 04/09/2008 18:06

How HAve I done? Not good at all today. Lots of toast and butter for breakfast, cake and muffin on the run at lunch (breaking my cardinal rule of sitting and actually enjoying my food instead of eating it so quickly you don't realise you've had it, may as well have had a banana for all the enjoyment I had out of eating them!), then came home and had two croissants and haven't even had tea yet... hmmm, maybe I shouldn't!

LOL at your dream Iamamummy, mine would be full of crispy strips, mmmmmmmm. Why don't you try just weighing yourself once a fortnight, you might then be pleasantly surprised how much you've lost in a fortnight instead of the frustating up and downs when doing it each day. Just a suggestion .

Anyone getting any exercise in?

LostGirl · 04/09/2008 18:07

MMMMM, am going to send DH out for chocolate cheesecake. Will start afresh tomorrow

LostGirl · 04/09/2008 22:16

Yum

twinklelittlestar · 06/09/2008 08:48

Hi there

iamamummy thought the scales were toying with you!

When is your night out? Is it today? I am sure you will look great. Size 14 is not big anyway and i think really it's how we feel about ourselves rather than the size we are. DP doesn't think i am fat at all. So even though we want to be size 12! objectively we probably don't really need to be iyswim.

Hi lostgirl...chocolate cheesecake is wonderful! Strange you should ask about exercise. I have been struggling so much with feeling i was not losing weight and struggling to stop snacking etc that i decided to take the bull by the horns last night and go to the gym. managed to do 3/4 hour on the cross trainer. i am planning to go mon, wed & thurs to the gym and then maybe swimming on some of the other days. but it will depend on when dd wakes up etc and also how motivated i can be!

No snacking last night though!

lets hope today during the day i can be more in control of the snacking. xx

iamamummy · 06/09/2008 16:00

hi ladies

twinkle - yeah my scales are horrid! however they are fixed now with some nice shiny new batteries so they have to be kind to me! i did weigh myself this morning as i know over the weekend i tend to let the diet slip. i asked dp about my body and he says i need to lose atleast a stone - i asked him what he thought of my stomach and he said its not that thats the problem its everywhere else so after that little chat i wasnt exactly feeling beautiful!
night out is next saturday.

lost - dont normally weigh everyday just scales been up the spout. starting everymonday again now.

i am going to try and do some exercise this week as i think it will help a lot!

Hi there

well ...iamamummy how's it going? So much for me saying about DP etc Have you been getting on all right since? What do you think about what he said? I think it's hard when you've had a baby as you're body can change shape a little anyway and it does take a while to get back into routine/feeling like yourself (20 months in my case!). Not to mention caring for a little one and all that that entails.

I still don't think that having and extra stone necessarily means you don't look good etc . i was comparing myself today to some other mums at a group (in my mind!) and although i'm not as thin as i would like to be i am by no means fat in comparison to most. if you are size 14 i would imagine you the same too. However... that doens't stop me from wanting to lose weight & at times thinking i am fat (at least compared to what i was).

I did manage to go to gym again on saturday and but then came home and ate quite a bit of chocolate! Sunday was also not a good day and I weighed in at 9stone 7 today today. (next monday will be my first 'real' weigh in as it were)so still at the start no loss or gain. anyway have had a real cool day today eating wise and no snacking. went out this eve though so missed my gym appointment! gonna try and go when i can but maybe my plan earlier in the week was a little ambitious! .

lostgirlhow are you?

xx

iamamummy · 09/09/2008 07:43

wow twinkle you were up late or should i say early

with regards to dp it goes in one ear and out the other with what he says, it wouldnt hurt him to shed a stone or two so until he is a brad pitt body double il ignore his comments

i weighed in yesterday at 12.2 so thats 3 pound off which isnt too bad considering i strayed big time towards the end of the week.

sounds like you are doing really well with the gym! welldone you!

oscar has his first swim lesson today hence posting very early for me. i cant wait

hi lost girl! hope you have had the diet of an angel

Been following Weightwatchers Online for 10 days now (It's worked for me in the past)

Do you guys have weigh-ins or anything? anything else I need to know?

Please be gentle with me!

iamamummy · 10/09/2008 20:18

jodiehadababy - 12 stone target 10
twinkle -
lost -

anyone else can add theres if/when they join.

bought 3 dresses today to wear for sat, 2 of them adsolutely hideous and the 3rd is still not really suitable but off to buy some control pants to see if that can smooth out the lumps and bumps

OP posts:
JODIEhadababy · 10/09/2008 22:04

I hate crappy dresses, wrapover dresses look hideous on me, they are the work of he devil

twinklelittlestar · 11/09/2008 00:01

Hi there

welcome jodiehadababy congrats on your weight loss already. think we are just trying to eat healthily and cut out snacking etc

I was a member of weightwatchers online as well until 3rd sep. found that i wasn't really using it but i know it really works for some people. my friend did it and lost loads of weight. i found it difficult to work out points when i was cooking family meals etc

yeah iamamummy i am definately up for weigh in this monday. having a good week so far 'on the straight and narrow'! Been to the gym 3 nights in a row and no snacking. However... this is sometimes my pattern that i get really into it then something happens and i dive bomb! abit all or nothing

i have lost over stone before though and kept it off for years until i got pregnant. so hopefully this time is the real time.

iamamummy - 12 stone 5 target 10 stone
jodiehadababy - 12 stone target 10
twinkle - 9 stone 7 target 9 stone
lost -

i'm going for 9 stone initially and then see how i feel.

iamamummy where did you find the nice dresses from? always find it difficult to find nice dresses. hows it been going with the grapefruit?

xx

twinklelittlestar · 11/09/2008 00:05

Oh... size 12 would be a good goal! whatever weight that is.

x

JODIEhadababy · 11/09/2008 06:36

Hi Twinklelittlestar.

I can't help but wonder.... you are 9st7 and a size 12? How tall are you? I'm only 5'3 and when I got married I was 9st7 and (almost) waif thin..... I suppose it depends on your bone structure????

iamamummy · 11/09/2008 07:44

morning ladies!

i have had a bad week so starting today
will weigh in on monday though still just this week will be a short week.

twinkle - i ordeed them out of my catalogue and went for 3 styles a boob tube slinky style dress, a tight corset dress with sleeves, and a pretty halter neck black dress with sparles under the boobs.

all great dresses just not on me however i am having my hair done today so it should perk me up a bit. i dont know if its cos the weather is turning but i just feel rotten i want to curl up in my duvet on the sofa and sleep myself to a size 10

well im off to carry on with housework before oscar wakes.

byeeeee xxx

LostGirl · 11/09/2008 08:12

Hi everyone, welcome to JODIE, congratulations on weight loss so far. Am completely stuck in a rut at the moment and finding it very hard to break the chocolate and bread addiction. Still have no scales but will measure later and post back, imagine I will be back to what I was when I started on here , oops!

Iamamummy, how did the first swimming lesson go? What have you decided to wear on Sat, I agree with Jodie that wrap dresses are the work of devil, I kept hearing how they are so flattering for every shape so went and tried loads on... not a pretty sight, all boobs, hips and lumps and bumps!

min912 · 11/09/2008 14:47

Gahhh, I have loads to lose...

13 stone 10 target 11 stone (or less, but that's what I was pre-baby!)

Am losing 1lb per week on average but that seems a bit slow. Starting buggy exercise classes next week though!

JODIEhadababy · 11/09/2008 15:13

Remember Min, the quicker it goes off, the longer it will stay off! Thats quite a good weight loss, at least its in the right direction!

Breakfast was cereal and Banana
Lunch Toast, Apple and Kit Kat (allowed in my points!)

Now to get buggy out and off for a walk while the suns out!

twinklelittlestar · 11/09/2008 23:29

Hi there

good day so far food wise. need to work on cutting down portion size of evening meal.

no real snacking still.. maybe a couple of raisins, raspberries and a grape! etc

iamamummy how did your hair go? the dresses sound really chic.

lostgirl i was feeling like that for quite a few weeks. i'm glad i stuck around though as i think sometimes it takes a while and a few attempts to be in the right motivational stage to attempt to make a change

jodiehadababy i'm 5ft 4 and i'm a size 12 on top and 14 on the bottom. Since giving birth still have fat around my tummy/waist etc and on my bum and thighs making me a 14 rather than the 12 i would like to be. don't want to lose loads but 1/2 stone maybe stone at tops. I was 8 stone 12 before got pregnant with dd and was size 10/12.

I'd like to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight before i get pregnant again...as i did find it quite hard emotionally/psychologically to put on weight while pregnant after being slim. was quite scared about it actually. as soon as i found out i was pregnant i ate loads as i found carbohydrates were the only thing that took the feeling of sickness away in the first few months. I also didn't want to jeopardise baby by not eating enough!

i think this was when i put on a little too much weight. during pregnancy put on 3 and half stone. it all came off reasonably quickly but I have been carrying extra stone since dd was born so i feel that if i was back to my pre preg weight i would be able to cope with putting on weight drawing pregnancy better this time and not go quite so mad with food. How about you?

min912 as jodie says the best way to lose weight is slowly.. healthier and more likely to stay off. Welcome!

see ya xx

JODIEhadababy · 12/09/2008 06:34

Twinkle I put on 4 stone during my 1sr pregnancy, and although some of it was water I was 13 stone when DS1 was 8 weeks, which is when I started dieting again (I put on so much weight as I have always had to watch what I eat, so used it as an excuse to eat, eat, eat!) By the time I got pregnant again (DS1 13 months) I was 10 stone 3. I still put on too much weight again this time, even though I was more careful. I think I'm just one of those people, but like you said, I found myself eating more to stop feeling ill, or to give me more energy to run around after DS1! So here I am.

Abubu · 12/09/2008 16:10

Hi ladies,

Can I join please this group please? Does it still count as baby weight if my twins are 15 months old?
I am currently 10st 1 and would like to get down to 9st 2 which was my weight before the girls.
I am 5 ft 2 and still just about in the ok category, but since having the girls all my excess wight just goes on my tum.
According to the guy who runs my gym my wasit to hip ratio is in the very bad category!

Abubu

JODIEhadababy · 12/09/2008 20:44

Hi Abubu, I'm new on here too! Hopefully we can get though it together!

I don't know about anyone else, but I find the night times the hardest, temptation is so great to snack once DS's are in bed! Would love some chocolate right now....

Going to do my Davina DVD instead!
