fifisworld

would you recommend investing in a wii fit? My birthday is in august and my dh is considering getting me one.

twinklelittlestar · 14/07/2008 16:03

Hi

Btw toobig and lisalesslumpy I think you are right about the scales. I know I'm being mental weighing so often and after today I'm only going to weigh once a week! I was doing it in secret as well so my dd didn't see me and i don't want her to pick up on it etc best to stop for me too. She imitates everything even though she doesn't know what it means. i want to eat healthily for both her and me etc

thanks though sometimes a little comment can make me reflect

xxx

fifisworld · 14/07/2008 16:06

I find the wii fit good as i don't have time to go to the gym as ive got my ds's all day.
You can check your weight and bmi.

The exercises Aerobic, so you run, hula hoop, step, boxing
Theres also Yoga, balance, muscle workouts and the more you do you unlock new exercises.

I tend to do about 45mins - 1 hour a night which i wouldnt get to do without it.

tooBIG · 14/07/2008 19:23

Good idea about restraining yourself with the weighing twinkle. I was a tad obsessed in my younger years and on some days would weigh myself about 12 times. This is why I no longer allow scales in the house as I am terrified of passing on my bad habits to my dds.

Did measure myself this morning though and have lost one and a half inches around my waist, but nothing anywhere else which is weird but still at least a change. (My first measurements were taken three weeks ago by the way, this is not a decrease just over one week: i wish!)

Congrats on the weight loss everyone, and the no snacking acheivements!

Have had a truly s**t day and have managed to eat 2 slices of toast and about 6000 jelly beans and am now sinking into a post sugar rush slump and faced with all the housework. CAnnot be arsed to cook as dh is out and it always seems to take too much effort just to cook for me. Anyone else feel like this? No... just me that's the lazy slob!

suey2 · 14/07/2008 19:32

me too toobig! i have just eaten some leftovers. It actually helps me out diet wise, though.

good on you fifi for doing so much! i am cycling to work and i do a physical job and have started running, so i tend to do balance and yoga on the Wii.

How's the running going? I'm trying to liftmy behind of the chair and move away from the computer to try some radiant heart yoga (whatever the hell that is). Thankfully it is only about 23 minutes long!

suey2 · 14/07/2008 19:40

LOL! radiant heart yoga eh?
have only run once, but i am going to run home from work tomorrow (about 4 miles). or at least part of the way!

tooBIG · 14/07/2008 19:47

4 miles!!!!!!!!! OMG, I can't even run 400 metres at the moment, I always set off way too fast and then collapse really really quickly. You are putting my 23 minutes of radiant heart to shame!!! Always used to hate yoga and never did it pre-children, but now find it's far easier to get enthusiatic about doing half an hour of stretching than an hour of bouncing about like a deranged wild woman, watching natalie cassidy's fake boobs and her tango-ed trainer!

Something is better than nothing (I hope, or I really am just wasting my time!)

tooBIG · 14/07/2008 19:48

HAving said that, you can tell I still haven't actually been inspired to turn the computer off and begin getting radiant can't you!

whitebeachesandcoconutoil · 14/07/2008 19:52

good evening all of you! [sends a wave to everyone]
i am sorry i have been missing this weekend but been v. busy and then have had a really crap morning-my hot water cylinder leaked through the night and went through my living room ceiling so had to sort out a plumber etc today.
i was so fed up i ate 2 bars of chocolate and if i would have had some wine in i would have drunk it.
anyway i weighed myself tonight and i have lost 2.5 pounds[ i knew that walking up and down the stairs for 10 minutes would have to pay off ]
i hope you are all well and iamamummy i hope your day got better.twinklestar am gonna use your paella recipe this week

tooBIG · 14/07/2008 19:55

congrats white beaches, that's a great loss. Sorry about your plumbing problems.

EllieG · 15/07/2008 12:36

I haven't lost any, but this is the first proper week of trying so will see next mon.

Bugger, DD woken up. How dare she interrupt my MN time? The cheek of it....

suey2 · 15/07/2008 14:27

who put that double decker in the canteen? . I am already spending the currency of the run i haven't done yet.

iamamummy · 15/07/2008 16:13

hi ladies

things went from bad to worse the other day - still not spoken to d?p

twinkle i am trying your paella recipe tonight cant wait. the diet has taken a bit of a battering this week due to stress levels.

so far

breakfast - sultana oatibix with skimmed milk.

lunch - apple and a plum

lots of water in between and a fresh orange juice.

as for yesterday - i shall not confess

i have bought a little notepad and a tape measure so will be keeping a food diary and also taking measurments tomorrow. i really am determined now!!

hope you are all ok?

btw suey - double deckers are gr8

sallyforth · 16/07/2008 00:49

hello ladies! what a lot of us there are!
had a good couple of days - I used to have a rubbishy lunch and a fatty dinner and lots of snacks - but since have had no snacks inthe house had healthy lunches and cereal for supper. and walked for at least 1.5 hours each day

Well, my lunch today was healthy-ish: smoothie, Indian style pancake, and ice cream ... sort of went downhill a bit with the ice-cream - but never mind I think it's still less than I used to eat.

LisaLessLumpy · 16/07/2008 08:52

I've stayed the same this week. Not surprised though after a 3lb loss last week and my AF is due too

twinklelittlestar · 16/07/2008 09:17

Hi to you all just a quick post this morning:

i actually wrote this last night but couldn't log into to mnet for some reason:

no snacking again! I'M FEELING SLIMMER!! (don't know whether i look it yet...

last night post:

Hi everyone

Hope you're having a good day?

iamamummy: hope the paella? and hope things have resolved between you and your dp? it's such a downer when you're not getting on. i know i

always hate it and feel so miserable when i argue with my dh eating can get messed up as well when i'm angry. Sounds like you've had a good day

today though eating wise .

congrats toobig on your inch loss!

luckily still going good and haven't engaged in any evening snacking. trying to cut down my snacks in the day as well and trying to eat fruit if i do. it

has been a little easier as my dd has woken later in the am. i find when she wakes early or in the night i can be ravenous for most of the day!!

Anyway...

today:
b:50g sultana bran and 1/4 ss milk
l:egg sand healthy living from tesco and packet of quavers, low fat ambrosia rice pudding (133ckals) & tsp of low sug apricot jam
snack pm: 50g dry prunes (approx 70 cals)
d:spicy chicken and prune & cous cous & a mango.

so far another evening without snacking!

fifisworld thanks for the info on the wii fit. sounds good and useful to be able to do a work out at home. I do have gym membership and i go through

stages when i use it and when i don't. at the moment i'm in a stage of not using it. So i am worried i might be the same with the wii fit but then again

because it is interactive it might be more motivational? especially if you can unlock new exercise the more you do and of course you don't have to

leave your home!

So.. i haven't bought new scales yet as i thought that i might wait for the wii fit.

suey2: ikwym about spending your currency pre run! i used to do that before going to the gym as i knew i'd do 50 mins on the cross trainer etc and i

ate a load of weightwatchers puddings in anticpation of a workout and then when i arrived the gym had closed early ... (bummer). at least with running

and the wii fit you have abit more control. although the little ones can always wake up i suppose

c u tomorrow x

twinklelittlestar · 16/07/2008 09:19

p.s hi again sallyforth and lisalesslumpy see you later breakfast calls and my dd xxx

twinklelittlestar · 16/07/2008 21:37

Hi me again...anyone out there?

hope you're all having a good day

a good day...eating wise. I'm managing to cut down on snacks during the day and still now snacking in the evening . Just hope i can keep it up .

today:
b:50g sultana bran
l:roll & lf marg & 3 slices ham & 1 babybel light. muller light yog & fruit.
d:spicy chicken and cous cous; melon & strawberries.

Just wondering: cutting out on snacks etc Healthy eating wise how do you guys make sure you are getting enough calcium per day?

see you tomorrow then x

LisaLessLumpy · 16/07/2008 21:42

I'm here

Had a good day calorie wise day, but crap quality food wise

twinklelittlestar · 16/07/2008 22:09

hi lisalesslumpy

glad you had a good day calorie wise!

just thought i'd better let you know i made a typo well perhaps a freudian slip...i meant to say i'm still not snacking in the evening rather than i'm now snacking in the evening (lol) .

LisaLessLumpy · 17/07/2008 06:51

I realised what you meant

suey2 · 17/07/2008 07:29
