hi ladies

twinkle - i adapted a little on the paella (probably shouldnt have done) so it turned out more like a risotto but tasty all the same so i have frozen some for a quick meal another day, i am going to do your recipe over the weekend.

suey welldone on the 1/2 pound loss!

i cant seem to catch up or be motivated on anything at the moment - however me and dp started talking again last night and he just called me now from work so its a good sign, weird thing is i dont even know now what caused it to erupt so much!

i have had 2 bits of toast with marmalade this morning.

lunch will be fruit and for dinner we will be having salad.

and i have replaced chocolate - with a hot chocolate before bed

have a good day ladies and il try and post my measurements later!

Was at a wedding yesterday and ate far too much

New day today to try and combat a crap 4 days.

twinklelittlestar · 19/07/2008 11:15

Hi

never mind lisalesslumpy it is a new day & I think it is good idea to enjoy yourself now and again!

I was meaning to ask you how you lost all that weight over the last few months? Have you been following a diet or a healthy eating plan etc

I have another party this pm and I've already eaten my quota of breakfast and lunch as dd woke at 5 am and by 6 am i was starving so ate breakfast and then kind of ate my second breakfast when i woke again with ehr at 9am.
LOL!

We'll see how the day goes but sometimes when i've broken out of my routine i find it hard to claw it back and then it just slide. Kind of an all or nothing mentally.

So far today:
1st b: 50g sultana bran and 1/4 ss milk
2nd b:1 crumpet lf marg and low sug jam; slice of wholemeal bread & lf marg and low sug jam.
2 mini child organic biscuits (2 x 33 kcals).

& I'm still hungry. Suppose I need to do something to take my mind off it.

wish me luck c you guys later xx

LisaLessLumpy · 19/07/2008 11:31

Morning twinkle, I'm an al or nothing gal too, if I start well I can keep it up, if I slide early that's it

Not been following a diet as such, just been cutting down. My mum ran slimming clubs for 30 years so I know calories in most things, so try and stick to 1250 a day and do some exercise

tooBIG · 19/07/2008 14:10

Hi everyone. TWINKLE YOU HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME. Sorry, dd2 hit caps lock, i'm not shouting !! DD2 starts her day at 4.15am at the latest, but have managed to conqquer having two full size breakfasts by having one piece of toast when i first get up, and another at 9ish.

Does anyone else feel like they've forgotten how to eat normally and that it used to be easy to eat and enjoy food without feeling guilty and calorie counting.

fifisworld · 19/07/2008 14:26

Sorry..haven't been on all week, but i've been too busy exercising
Just a quick post and i will catch up with whats been happening.
Well i've been good most of the week, went for a long walk on Wednesday and a run on Wednesday night, Swimming on Thursday and not done anything since apart from helping pil's move house so that could be classed as exercise i suppose.
Lost another 2lb up to now, but i will struggle now i always lose it quickly at first then its a battle to get the rest off.
Oh, ive also had a headache for days but i think its because of the change in my diet.
Hope everyone else is doing well!!!

iamamummy · 19/07/2008 19:53

hi ladies i have not abandoned you justt been mega busy!!

LisaLessLumpy · 21/07/2008 09:38

I have had a bad three days so today is a new beginning. I have told dh to make me go and do the cross trainer tonight

LisaLessLumpy · 21/07/2008 09:39

Well done on the 1lb loss

There is no way I could ever get down that low again, unless I starved myself

iamamummy · 21/07/2008 11:07

morning ladies!

congrats on the 1lb loss twinkle! very of you being 9stone 2!

no loss for me this week but no gain either so not all bad!

got a tonne of salad in the fridge so will be binging on that the next couple of days.

twinkle for the paella/risotto i bought paella rice used chicken stock, paprika, frozen peas, and 1 1/2 tins of chopped toms. not much difference really but definately more of a risotto type dinner. dp lived in spain for 3 years and his ex was spanish so he is used to all the authentic dinners - so he is very critical!

might give your recipe a whirl tonight with lots of salad on the side

right better go not even dressed yet

Hi, I used to be a consultant for a very well known slimming club (don't know if I can say their name or not) Can't see that it will hurt cos I'm not gonna be making any money out of it now, ok, Slimming world. My training was quite a few years ago and I now have an 11wk old DS and need to lose 2st myself. I need encouragement but again need to do it gently cos also BFing.

If anyone needs any support I'm more than willing to give it (also appreciative of any support coming my way too) I'm very tired at the mo, and losing the will to get up off the sofa!!! Motivation is clearly needed! lol

I have had a bowl of Shredded wheat and milk so far today...

iamamummy · 21/07/2008 13:28

hiya hannah!!

there is a lot of encouragement on here! so do you have any good tips from being a consultant? will you be following your own advice? apparently there is a 5 day diet in womans own, its just a smoothie diet but looks really tasty and mega healthy so im thinking of giving that a go

so far...

1 bit of toast
ww chicken wrap and gooseburys and walkers chicken crisps

stay good girls!!

OP posts:
iamamummy · 21/07/2008 13:29

ok so that was supposed to be walkers chicken crisps duuurrrr!!!!

OP posts:
iamamummy · 21/07/2008 13:30

given my naughty secret away now

OP posts:
Hannah81 · 21/07/2008 18:19

Good tips???
Um...
plenty of fluids - you can diet as much as you want but you really do need to get those fuids in (and not of the alcohol type either )

Will I be following my own advice??? Um just wish i could! Won't tell u i had biscuits earlier! Just cos I used to be a consultant, certainly doesn't mean that I am an angel! I all honesty, after talking SW 24/7 you really don't want to do it yourself then! But I did lose almost 5 stone, so i know it works ladies!

Another tip is not to cut out all fats completely - your body needs a certain amount of fat intake to be able to lose weight - if your body has no fat intake at all the the body will learn to retain anything it can, so you won't actually lose weight that way (thats what happens with yo-yo dieters - they cut out fat completely and then when they do have the slightest bit of anything fatty, the body stores that fat. Fill your plate with plenty of vegetables and snack on fruit / low fat yogurts and have something a little bit naughty every day - a few biscuits, your favourite sauce, packet of crisps or a bit of chocolate - that way your body isn't starved of the fat it needs, so you will lose weight.

Hope it helps.
x

LostGirl · 21/07/2008 19:27

tooBIG here! Sorry, have name changed as am no longer feeling quite as BIG as I did when first signed onto this, some self esteem seems to be creeping back to me.

Welcome Hannah! Thanks for the info, I no longer feel guilty for still eating proper butter on my toast and sandwiches, I am merely giving my body the fat it needs!

Clearly isn't doing any harm though as have lost another half inch off my waist and 1 and a half off my hips all of a sudden. (Maybe I'd just squashed my bottom flat though due to sitting on it from 1.30am with teething dd1!)

Congratulations everyone on weightloss and no snacking!

goldryder · 21/07/2008 20:26

im back after 4 days of no computer! i have fallen off the diet wagon a couple of times, once with a curry and then with chocolate cake (well it was my birthday!) but i did eat more than 1 slice...
LostGirl well done for losing inches
today have eaten porridge and honey
salmon and advocado salad
2 sausages
2 mouthfulls of cake
10 mini prawns in breadcrumbs and chilli dip
another mouthfull of cake (i will stop now!)

twinklelittlestar · 21/07/2008 23:40

Hi all

Welcome hannah81. Great to have you on board.

lostgirl congrats on the inch loss. I think it's great you changed your name too: power too you!

glad you're around iamamummy! your risotto sounds nice. i'll havbe to try that too.

So far today:

b:50g sultana bran & 1/4 ss milk
l: ham sandwich, tomato chutney; 2 mini fromage frais and fruit
d: roast beef, inc. 2 small roast pots and parsnips and veg & gravy. 2 small fromage frais and fruit

Anyone know how much gravy is a healthy size portion?

Another evening without snacking! & also been to the gym this eve while my dh looked after my dd. Only for 1/2 hour on cross trainer. lisalesslumpy did you manage to get on? Do you have a cross trainer at home? How do you find it? Had a step machine once and found it really hard going so got rid of it. I like cross trainer though and get on well with it. my machine of choice.

glad i went but dd always gets upset when i leave. don't leave her v often so maybe she's not used to it. but i am determined to lose these few pounds and i don't think i'm going to be able to do it without a little exercise .

c ya tomorrow xxx

Ambi · 21/07/2008 23:44

Think I'll be joining this this thread. Like you iamamummy, I lost most of the baby weight not long after DD was born, now she's 7 months, its creeping up

zazen · 21/07/2008 23:59

Hi ladies!
Now don't laugh... my DD is 4, and I still have the baby weight - I lost a lot of it after she was born - BUT it has been a creepin' back on and now I'm 1 and a half stones heavier than I was before I fell pg.

I had a slow recovery after the creash cesarean birth, and broke my wrist about a year after that, then sprained my toe (I know sounds tiny but was very painful) which stopped me in my tracks.

I hope to do a yoga / walking / pilates exercise regime, and a detox diet - gluten and dairy free. Anyone else gluten and dairy free?

LisaLessLumpy · 22/07/2008 07:43

twinklelittlestar - Yes I did manage to do the cross trainer. I used to go to the gym but after Ben was born I couldn't get there much so we cancelled our membership and bought a cross trainer for home instead. I did 40 mins, 2.88 miles and burnt off 380 calories
