A new thread as number 2 was getting long!

Hi all, how's it going ? I'm still chugging away at it. I joined SW two weeks ago and I'm finding it suits me much better than WW atm - I lost 5 lbs on it so far. I have PMT and am going to use my "syns' on chocolate every day I have decided. Haven't got time at the moment to read down and catch up, so I hope you're all well.

champs · 11/02/2005 15:48

Glitter!! HI !!! good to hear from you.

Kitty--- well done!! Do you find you're not hungry on SW?
please dont mention sweet stuff my hips will not thank you

Kittypickle · 11/02/2005 17:13

Not at all hungry Champs, I'm getting on much better than I was with WW

champs · 11/02/2005 17:19

very tempted to try SW as you are allowed to do it whilst pg esp as they have sort of changed it now. I really missed meat and carbs mixed.

Kittypickle · 11/02/2005 19:19

My consultant or whatever she's called is going to become a Grandma in a couple of weeks - her daugher has apparently lost 2 stones whilst pregnant. I've found that I am getting a reasonable mixture of meat and carbs on the green day, I often use one of my B choices on chicken or something. I guess if you did something like quorn sausages, baked beans, mushrooms and tomatoes for breakfast, you would have both B choices for later. Being able to have 2 A choices is definitely an improvement. And I just love knowing that if I'm hungry I can have something to eat without worrying. I will shut up about it now, just hope I am this enthusiastic in a few months time

It's gone all quiet here again. Is that because everyone's busy exercising and cooking 'good' food from scratch?

I seem to have hit my stride again, fortunately, it was really hard to stick to the diet for a couple of weeks there, but I'm back in the routine. I'm not being increadibly good, I could exercise more, but I'm being good enough. How's everyone else?

PuffTheMagicDragon · 14/02/2005 19:42

I haven't been on for a bit - been away (nowhere exciting).

I'm not expecting to have lost anything when I weigh myself tomorrow - wrong time of the month, a weekend of buffet and motorway services food, plus overindulging tonight will mean I'm sure to have gained!

bran · 14/02/2005 19:47

It is completely impossible to eat healthily on the road isn't it Puff? I completely resent wasting all those calories on moterway (or where-ever) food when it doesn't even taste good. It's entirely different from going out for a wonderful meal with good food and laughter and putting on a couple of pounds, because then they're happy pounds, they go on your boobs or make your bum rounder. Moterway food puts on ugly, loutish pounds, they bulge over your bra on your back, or hang over your waistband.

bran · 14/02/2005 19:48

Oops, that's motorway tsk. I'm going all East London, I'll be calling my car 'me moter' soon.

Flossam · 14/02/2005 19:56

Bran, as long as you ain't selling it for a pi-ond!

I've been quiet cause I've been naughty! Meal out on sunday (starter and main) pizza and lovely chocolate cheesecake on saturday night. Today pork pie and mars egg. Today I'm bad cause I have a cold an am feeling miserable. Trying to make up for it by eating a muscle ceaser salad (odd I know but actually quite nice!). Delaying wiegh day till later in the week... My parents have decided to come for the night at the weekend, was really hoping that I'd look a bit different when I saw them next. Never mind, hopefully I can find some more motivation from somewhere.

just try to have a healthy week this week, so it doesnt show later!

FineFigureFio · 15/02/2005 10:54

well i put on a pound this week, but I did pig out ALOT last week
back on track now
well done Dior !

Just out of interest what does everyone tend to have for breakfast and lunch?

bran · 15/02/2005 13:14

Never mind Fio, it'll come off again, it won't take long. And I think it's pretty good to stay the same Puff, considering you had a difficult week.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 15/02/2005 13:17

Thanks for the encouraging words folks .

1lb isn't so bad fff - you'll get it off next week.

Breakfast for me is usually porridge or muesli, lunch is often hummus mixed with some low fat fromage frais, plus crudites and then some fruit. Or, homemade soup if there's leftovers from the night before.

monkeygirl · 15/02/2005 15:54

Hello all - sympathies for all those who haven't lost/gained - me too! I've been very very bad and am surprised that have only put on 1lb this week. Feel slightly peeved by it all cos I'm back to that losing/gaining the same bloody 2 lbs - gawd it's stubborn! I've also had more choccy today cos I went shopping - arrrraghhhhhhhh!!

Please, no more talk of cheesecakes - could really do one justice atm.

Bran - lol at the motorway food. if I didn't know any better, I would think that that is what dh has been feeding me in my sleep!

Champs - how are you feeling - still sick as a dog??

bran · 15/02/2005 16:09

Hi MG - I've been craving chocolate badly, I think it's the cold weather. I'm planning to have a large chocolate cake for my birthday though and the thought of it is helping me to resist the current chocolate urges.

Fio, I almost always have 40g sugar-free Alpen with semi-skimmed goats milk (only because I don't digest cows milk well) for breakfast. Although recently I have been trying to have proper porridge more often, made with half milk/half water and sweetened with Fruisana. For lunch, when I'm at work I have a large granary bap with chicken/beef/ham/tuna and lots of salad and no butter, then during the afternoon I have an apple and a couple of clementines.

Tuna is very yummy if you use just 1 or 2 tsp mayonnaise per tin of tuna, then use natural yogurt to make it as creamy as you like it.

monkeygirl · 15/02/2005 16:14

ooh - when's your birthday Bran? How old??

Oh yes breakfast - I always have porridge made with soya milk sweetened with some honey or nothing as soya milk is quite sweet anyway. But I love porridge and am quite addicted to it.

Lunch when I'm being good is a chicken/turkey sandwich followed by a yohurt or some fruit or some noodles cooked in chicken stock with bits of cooked chicken and some veg. Mostly I just try and not pick at dd1's lunch (not usually very successfully )

champs · 15/02/2005 16:42

Mg-- yep still sick as a dog, and parrot to boot!!
bran--- thanks for tip, will try that as I am into tuna at moment.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 15/02/2005 16:47

Hope you start feeling better soon champs .

Flossam · 15/02/2005 16:53

Hi everyone. Don't worry FFF and MG, I'm sure that it will have vanished by next week! And Puff, as everyone has said, staying the same after hols is good!

Despite my very naughty few days (cake today too ) I've lost 2lbs. I have decided that it must take a week for the food eat to make it as far as my hips, bum etc which is why good week = not much loss, bad week = a bit better. Does that seem true to anyone else?

Bran, think you are right about the cold weather having an effect on what I'm eating.
