OP posts:
champs · 10/02/2005 18:05

ok so the shout didn't work!!
HELLO

better??

bran · 10/02/2005 18:07

WHO'S SHOUTING?

Hi Champs, how are you?

champs · 10/02/2005 18:22

lol!! AM trying to stay upbeat bran. sickness is getting me down but will be worth it...

DH has pushed my scales right to the back of sofa so I cant weigh myself!!
How WW getting on? I am still thinking in points but not as much.

Flossam · 10/02/2005 18:30

Sorry? What was that?
You know bran, my brother is getting married on that day! I've emailed him asking if he was asked permission to overshadow his day by the royals but haven't yet had an answer...

DP tried to give me a toffee crisp last night, I said no! So v proud of myself. My trousers are getting ridiculous now, I went on a bus today (first time since nasty bus driver on my own) and every time I sat down my trousers came half way down my bum! So I think a shopping trip may be in order soon although I've just spent loads on DS.

Our new cot came today, managed to put it together as DP is at work, but we didn't have the mattress yet. I was going to buy it off ebay but decided today I couldn't wait! So that was what propelled me onto the bus, all the way to toys'r'us. Then there was the slight matter of the mobile, DS seems to like his winnie the pooh on his play gym so I thought it was worth investing in. Once there I was unable to resist the quilt for the cot (yes I know it will probably only ever be for decoration, but its a very pretty decoration!) and the umm, sing me to sleep winnie the pooh soother. Which is of course very necessary . So can't actually afford any more clothes at the moment. And yes I know this is a loosing weight thread, and you really don't want to know about this but I've just put it all up and it looks lovely, DP isn't home yet and I haven't told anyone else! There what a sad soul I am! (but right now a rather happy one!)

champs · 10/02/2005 19:08

sounds lovely flossam!! There's something about winne the pooh isn't there? Is the soother the one with the remote? with wtp lying on pillow with piglet?

you must save a little money for you tho, we mums tend to leave ourselves last!!

bran · 10/02/2005 20:15

It sounds beautiful Flossam. How on earth did you manage to put the cot up by yourself? It took my mum and myself about an hour to do it, and almost as long for dh and myself to take it down again. But then I'm not terribly good at that sort of stuff. Perhaps you can aim for the low-slung hipster look until you can afford some more new clothes. If you're going to be accidently flashing some flesh on buses make sure you're wearing a tarty thong underneath and people will think you're showing off on purpose.

I hope the sickness starts to clear up soon Champs, and that you're not one of those unfortunate people who are sick all the way through the pregnancy. lol at your DH, he sounds really sweet.

WW is going ok at the moment, although even slower than usual. The scales are yo-yoing wildly up and down every week so I'm concentrating on my 4-week rolling loss, which works out to be 0.5 lbs a week. Not great, but better than nothing. TBW if you have a Waitrose nearby I thoroughly recommend their Beef and Veg Chunky Soup, only 3.5 points per tin and absolutely delicious. I just had one for dinner, with 2 wholemeal pittas stuffed with houmus and lots and lots of salad. MMMMM.

That's stunning Dior - you're doing so well. You must be thrilled.

I forget whether you're doing points or no count. I've decided to stick to points for the time being, mostly because I eat quite a lot of bread which is always counted as points on the no count. But also I'm really hungry at the moment, I don't know whether it's the weather or what, but I wouldn't trust myself to stop eating when I'm comfortably full.

Ooh, 11 lbs won't take long at your current rate of loss Dior. I think the no count would be very good for maintenance, after all nobody wants to spend the rest of their life weighing and tracking.

Once you're at your goal weight though you'll be able to try different things to see what suits you, and you'll always know that you can go back to points if you need to.

Only 11lbs Dior . How much weight have you lost in total then?

And 10 inches Flossam - brilliant - agree that it's much more satisfying than a weight loss cos you can actually see all your hard work!

Oh and hello to everyone. Posted on another thread about my 3lbs loss and forgot to do it here. Sounds good but 2lbs of it was what I put on last weekend . Have been both good and bad this week so am not hoping for much (except not to put weight on). Had pancakes when I said I wouldn't and they were yum!!!

Champs - good on your dh putting away the scales - think you have other more important things occupying your mind!

champs · 10/02/2005 20:49

bran-- I'm hoping too, i was sick all the way with both pgs and really hope it's not the same this time.
any weightloos is good so keep it up.
the soup sounds lovely. No waitrose near me tho.

dior-- Well done!! that is brill news. You will be at goal in no time. you must be so proud!! I haven't read up on no count, think I'll have a look at the website.

bran · 10/02/2005 20:49

I can be a little controlling about some things, but unfortunately not food, which is mostly how I got so over-weight in the first place. WW is really the first time I've seriously tried to lose the weight, and I decided at the very beginning that I wasn't going to let myself get too obsessed about it, because usually it get really over-enthusiastic about something new and then bored. So now, whether I gain or lose I don't get all that worked up about it, I try to just keep to the habit of tracking all the time so that I can do it almost without thinking.

champs · 10/02/2005 20:51

hi MG!! yes now I think about it , was a good idea for him to keep them away from me. well done on your loss.

champs · 10/02/2005 20:55

no info about no count really on the website. thought there'd be a list or something.

bran · 10/02/2005 21:23

Ahh, Champs, they're not stupid, they want you to pay before you get the list.

Flossam · 10/02/2005 21:56

Champs, thats the one. I saw it with DP the other day, he kind of talked me out of it, so I'm hoping I won't be in too much trouble when he gets in from work! Have you had one or are you thinking of getting one for your new baby?

Bran I quite like to put furniture up, I've done a few bits in my time. I like the idea of it certainly, although I do get horribly confused too. I'm also very impatient so I couldn't wait to see it up and finished!

Dior, thats excellent, and you too MG. How long has it taken you to loose that so far Dior?

champs · 10/02/2005 22:03

bran-- you're not wrong there, pity tho. SW website at least has reciepies that show which stuff is free on the diff days (although it's been a while since i went there so could have changed now)

floss--- ds2 has it. It's great!! Just tell dh that atleast you dont have to get out of bed to restart it like you do for a mobile. Dh has a go at me too for buying all theese bits for the boys but hey we like them!!

bran · 10/02/2005 22:13

If you want the list Champs I could always scan it in and e-mail it to you.

champs · 10/02/2005 22:28

oo yes please bran, you are a gem!!

bran · 10/02/2005 23:03

No problem, I'm off to bed now, but I'll have a go at scanning it tomorrow evening.

glitterfairy · 11/02/2005 07:49
