Lose a stone with me!

Amayonaising · 02/08/2026 19:18

Have dabbled in various wl chats before but starting my own thread for accountability - would love some people to join me!

Weighed in yesterday at the heaviest I've ever been excluding pregnancy - 59.6kg 😓 In all honesty I shouldn't be shocked, my diet has been crap, but I'm just so disappointed in myself for letting it slide up so much (I was 56kg in May).

Anyway! Trying to stay positive and focus on the changes I will be making. Luckily I have lots to motivate me: a big birthday in late September that I want to be healthier for, and a very fancy wedding in October that is basically a college reunion so I want to look my best!

Plan is to seriously overhaul my diet (started yesterday), I already exercise a fair bit but will up the walking.

Not sure yet how often I'll weigh in but for posterity:

SW: 59.6
TW: 52ish

Edit to add that I am very short I'm case that's not clear!

Hopeful bump!

Also I managed not to eat anything after dinner so feeling very pleased with myself.

I'm in. I'm currently 76kg, want to get to 70kg. In an ideal world, I'd be aiming for 60kg, but having done it before it requires too much sacrifice to be sustainable.

I'll join

thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/08/2026 07:02

I’ll join- I’ve been trying to lose a stone for at least a year now and I dabble around up and down the same few pounds. It’s frustrating. I am going on holiday on Sunday for 12 days though so I know every tiny bit I’ve lost will be back on anyway. I’m going to have a really focussed week on plan this week as one last push. Then when I return I am determined, nothing in the diary, i am on it. My goal is to have lost a stone and kept it off by next spring/summer, and whatever I do it needs to be sustainable because I am so tired of yo yo diets

Droopydroopingdropped · 03/08/2026 08:11

I would like to join in pls
I am the same as you and want to also get to around 55/56kg which I was in May too! But just going up since then
I try to do low carb but then eat a load of crisps in the afternoon and then ice cream and then I dont sleep well
I have so many rolls around my stomach and feel bleurgh
Will get rid of all the snacks and aim for 3 non upf meals a day

Flowerpowerz · 03/08/2026 08:18

I will join.

im 5ft 2 and 74kg. I was two stone lighter a few years back. But I’m going through a divorce and diet is so bad. Stress! And gave up gym to pay for solicitors. Self care out the window.

Sunflowers83 · 03/08/2026 08:31

Ooo…I’d like to join. I’m on another thread, but will also join here as our stats are fairly similar.

I’ve spent most of my adult life around 8st, but over the last 18 months I’ve gradually crept up to 9st (and not sure how/why, other than my age - 43?!).

I normally weigh in stone, but just done the conversions to kg to compare with you.

Weight today: 8st13.5 (57kg)
Target weight: 8st (51kg)

I might be happy slightly above my target, but my main aim is to lose tummy fat!

SupernaturalAddict · 03/08/2026 08:32

Can i join please? I'm 5'7 and 12st 7lb.

MinnieMountain · 03/08/2026 08:45

I'm in. I'm 47, but frankly I've been letting things slide a bit at weddings, summer BBQs, holidays etc.

Current weight is 10 stone 6. I'd like to get to 9 stone 7.

I've realised I need some carbs or I get really hungry. So no sweet things, 1 alcoholic drink per week, no snacks, smaller portions.

dazedandblue · 03/08/2026 08:52

I'd like to join please. I am on about week 4 of this.
I am 5'2.

SW: 60kg
CW: 57.4kg
TW: 50-52kg

I'm currently calorie counting (but not uber meticulously) as it has given me huge insight on portion sizing!! Which has made a big difference.

I'm also trying to exercise 2 times a week (anything more is a bonus) as that feels feasible around full time work, kids etc.

We are nearly identical with height, current weight and target weight! Well done on your loss so far. How many calories are you aiming for each day? (No worries if you’d rather not share.)

Droopydroopingdropped · 03/08/2026 13:26

Progress today
Made a delicious "quiche" with a high protein wrap in a cake tin then added 2 eggs some vegan cheese and soya milk and some spice
Ate with a salad for brunch
For afternoon I will have some Alpro yogurt with chopped peach and mixed seeds
Evening meal is keema with a gram flour roti
Must avoid crisps..

SpiceLover · 03/08/2026 13:37

I'd like to join you please🙂
Went to slimming world for over a year and previously lost 2.5 stone but that has gradually crept back up. Now I'm almost back where I started despite still making the effort to plan, prep, cook and eat good meals. My downfall is toast, crisps and snacks, and in the last few weeks ice cream. I'm now at the heaviest I've been in months and feeling so sluggish and bloated.
I'm learning to live with a permanent health condition that affects my balance and makes me feel exhausted much of the time, so improving my weight and diet is a priority.
I have a big family birthday coming up, a winter holiday in the sun and a graduation next year, all of which I want to feel good at.
I'm looking forward to getting some motivation from being in this group and supporting each other on our journeys.
Start weight: 82 kg
Current weight: 80.5kg
Goal weight: 66 kg
Height 5ft 5in

tralalalalalalalaala · 03/08/2026 14:39

Can I join? I need the motivation and other people to talk to about it all as I feel I am thinking about it so much but don’t want to bore people with it.

I managed to lose over 3 stone a year and a half ago after seriously overhauling my diet and it felt so sustainable and then routine changed and all of a sudden I gained over 2 stone back. I am SO disappointed it all happened in such a short space of time. I was 13st 11lbs and managed to get down to 10st 9lbs and now I’m clocking back in at 12.5st, though I have lost about 5lbs since getting back into the swing of things.

so… here for moral support to others and hoping to get some encouragement from everyone else. I’ve got more than a stone to lose! But it’s a good start 💪🏻

Amayonaising · 03/08/2026 20:25

Yay, so many people here now! I'm sorry you're all in the same boat but happy to have the company 😅(insert clever joke about boat sinking because of weight etc!)

I feel so bleurgh too - I think I must be quite short-torsoed (?) because the rolls seem to completely fill the space between my boobs and hips when I sit down, I hate the squished feeling.

I'd love to join but food controls me and I don't know how to stop.

Amayonaising · 03/08/2026 20:31

Have done pretty well so far today anyway, walked 6.5km and will definitely not be snacking this evening!! Have been trying to substitute herbal tea instead, it kind of not really at all hits the sweet craving.

At the moment I am aiming to eat around 1400-1450 calories a day. Of course this can fluctuate and sometimes it's more like 1,500-1550.

However, I've managed to fit wine in and an occasional candy or cheese or similar and even had a cheeseburger. It hasn't felt super restrictive and for the most part I've felt super satiated. I try to eat a lot of protein, some grains like rice and then vegetables like edamame, peppers, spinach and avocado etc. all with lots of seasoning and/or some sort of sauce.

I looked on TDEE and to maintain 50-52kg with 'Light Exercise' (gymming 1-2 times a week I assume) has me at around 1,550.

I figured once I get to my target weight I can see if I plateau and can slowly increase my target to 1,500 and see if I keep maintaining or start gaining again.

DurtBurd · 03/08/2026 21:11

Same @Flowerpowerz . I'm also 5ft2 and I'm in absolute awe at those of you aiming for nearly 20kg below my target. The "smallest" I've ever been as an adult was about 5 years ago at 65kg and for that I had to stay under 1200 cals per day, run 20km per week, swim 4km and do 3 weight training classes!

dazedandblue · 03/08/2026 21:22

Work has been so busy today, so I guess it's good as I haven't had time to stuff my face ha!!

Salmon and avocado for dinner, mainly because I was too lazy to start making anything more elaborate after work.

I really think it's so dependent on your frame etc though - my sister is an inch shorter than me but has always been about 63kg and looks great, she's very muscular with much broader shoulders etc.

Do you eat that with no rice/potato or whatever carb? I can't cope without carbs, have done low-carb before and it just makes me miserable.

Had baked potato, carrots and an omelette for tea 🍳

Meant to reply to this specifically as well!

I've always been between 8 - 8 and half stone (51 - 54kg), literally since I was 15yo. Just took it for granted tbh, never really had to worry about dieting, but in the last 3-4 years it's just been a battle. Imagine it's hormonal? My periods have definitely started to become less consistent.
