Lose a stone with me!

Have dabbled in various wl chats before but starting my own thread for accountability - would love some people to join me!

Weighed in yesterday at the heaviest I've ever been excluding pregnancy - 59.6kg 😓 In all honesty I shouldn't be shocked, my diet has been crap, but I'm just so disappointed in myself for letting it slide up so much (I was 56kg in May).

Anyway! Trying to stay positive and focus on the changes I will be making. Luckily I have lots to motivate me: a big birthday in late September that I want to be healthier for, and a very fancy wedding in October that is basically a college reunion so I want to look my best!

Plan is to seriously overhaul my diet (started yesterday), I already exercise a fair bit but will up the walking.

Not sure yet how often I'll weigh in but for posterity:

SW: 59.6
TW: 52ish

Edit to add that I am very short I'm case that's not clear!

Welcome @Madmother63

@Amayonaising Good to hear from you but so sorry to hear you are having such a tough time. Do you know how long you’ll need to wait for surgery?

Check-in today using my Happy Scale moving average.
SW: 8st13.5
Today: 8st12.4
Target: ?8st?

However, I did see 8st11.8 on the scales earlier in the week.

Good to hear from you @Amayonaisinghope you’re feeling better soon. I managed to give myself food poisoning this week from eating soup I’d made but it had been in the fridge several days! So it was white bread for a day or so. Maintained this week.

Thank you 💗 No clear timeline yet unfortunately, I'm looking into going private (as I did for ultrasound) but GP has warned that even private gynae waiting lists are long in my area.

54.4kg on the scale this morning, and I've realised that if I lose just over 1kg more I'll be down a stone! Trying to find the joy/motivation to get back into it again.

Sorry to hear you were sick 😫 nothing worse than food poisoning being your own fault!

Good morning.

Sorry to hear about your food poisoning @teaandtoastwithmarmite Hope you’ve had a better week this week.

@Amayonaising Sorry to hear you’ve got such a long wait for surgery.

Check-in today, using my Happy Scale moving average.
SW: 8st13.5
Today: 8st11.8
Target: ?8st?

I was 8st10.5 yesterday and back up to 8st12 today, for no reason! That is why I like weighing daily and using the moving average.

It is so, so slow, but I’m focusing on the positives that I noticed the gain earlier in the summer and I’ve put a stop to it. I have spent my whole adult life (apart from pregnancy around 8st) and got a huge shock when I realised I was 9st earlier in the summer (the heaviest I’ve ever been!). It might not sound a lot, but on my small frame, it is really significant. I hadn’t even done anything particular different to cause the gain. I was still eating sensibly, exercising, etc. It’s made me realise how easy it is for weight gain to happen. So, although I’m frustrated at the slow loss, I’m thankful I noticed the gain when it was one stone and not more.

Sorry for the essay. I don’t discuss any of this in ‘real life’ and know a few of you are also a similar height/frame to me, so hoping you’ll understand!

I completely understand what you mean! I rarely discuss weight/diet with anyone in real life because I find a lot of people hear "8 stone something" and then tell me that I'm already very light, 9 stone is nothing, it's only half a stone etc etc etc. Very few people stop to think that if they were 5 or 6 inches shorter they wouldn't be so happy to be 9 stone either!

Anyway, like you the difference a stone makes to by overall appearance and comfort is massive, and I'm glad I got a handle on it before it got up more.

Had a very debauched weekend away at a wedding but was happy to be there, fit in to my dress well and felt confident enough to not spend the whole weekend hiding from the photographer.

Weighed in at 54.7kg again this morning which was a relief after all the gluttony of the weekend! Will keep chugging away and hope to hit my goal of 52 by the end of the year 🙏

I did lose a stone. I really did. Got from 12st 5lbs to 11st 5lbs by eating very low fat meals as I had been told my stomach pains were due to gallbladder. Then had appt at emergency clinic and doc said it wasn't gallbladder. A mix of being frustrated by nobody telling me what is causing the pain (so eating/drinking to cheer myself up) and then going to Lisbon for 3 days and eating/drinking a lot I am now 11st 10lbs. But, I went to the gym today and am not having any alcohol tonight so it's small steps in the right direction. I am so very tired so going to have a home made healthy curry and rice and an early night then will plan meals for the week tomorrow. Onwards and upwards, or should I say downwards as that's the direction I'd like the weight to be going.

Hi all, sorry I’ve been a little MIA recently, the past couple of weeks have been absolutely crazy! TBF I did write an update at the weekend but for some reason it deleted before I could even post!

@Amayonaising fingers crossed that u don’t have to wait too long for surgery. U seem to be doing well with the weight loss though, not far from yr goal!

@Sunflowers83 I can relate to yr post in so many ways! It’s wild how the scale can fluctuate so much every day with no apparent reason. I try not to focus on the numbers (hard though 😣) and go by how I am feeling, clothes fitting etc. I would also not discuss my weight loss woes outside of this group. I feel that people don’t understand that for short, petite people, a few extra pounds makes such a difference. I look like a different person at 8.5 than at 7.5 because weight shows on my face. I know that I am at a healthy BMI and this is probably “vanity pounds” but I don’t think it’s crazy to want the body that I had pre-pregnancy.

@CrowsInMyGarden congratulations on losing weight the first time round. U can definitely shift it again!

I’ve been hovering around 7.13 and 7.12. These cold, dark evenings just make me want to curl up with a hot chocolate every night - not so great for my IF!
