Have dabbled in various wl chats before but starting my own thread for accountability - would love some people to join me!

Weighed in yesterday at the heaviest I've ever been excluding pregnancy - 59.6kg 😓 In all honesty I shouldn't be shocked, my diet has been crap, but I'm just so disappointed in myself for letting it slide up so much (I was 56kg in May).

Anyway! Trying to stay positive and focus on the changes I will be making. Luckily I have lots to motivate me: a big birthday in late September that I want to be healthier for, and a very fancy wedding in October that is basically a college reunion so I want to look my best!

Plan is to seriously overhaul my diet (started yesterday), I already exercise a fair bit but will up the walking.

Not sure yet how often I'll weigh in but for posterity:

SW: 59.6
TW: 52ish

Edit to add that I am very short I'm case that's not clear!

The mad thing is though I feel like I’ve lost weight. I can feel bones in my thighs and my stomach feels tighter. Does anyone else get that?

I think depending on how much exercise you're doing, that could be body recomposition i.e. you've gained muscle or it might be a decrease in fluid retention?

Finally finished work! 🙌 I went to bootcamp after work, I really didn’t want to but I am glad I did, I’m really tired and frazzled and I haven’t packed a single thing for holiday, but tomorrow I can pack and clean and get everything ready.

food has been ok probably calories wise but nutrition wise and fibre intake and protein grams = bloody awful. Can’t win them all 🤷‍♀️

Well done!

Maybe. It’s only walking so nothing drastic. Maybe I’m imagining it

Can I join? I was on a couple of weight loss threads earlier on in the year but I think they petered out! I realised that having a little supportive community with a similar goal was a diet hack (as long as u check in regularly!). I am 4’11. I’ll weigh myself in the morning but I think I am now 8st 4lbs. I managed to get down to 7st 10lbs but, for many reasons, it spiraled up in the last few months 😭. I want to get back to intermittent fasting and possibly high protein which was a great help last time. My motivation is a family event in late October where I will be seeing (very judgmental) members of my family whom I haven’t seen in while so need to look my best. That and wanting to feel good again in my body. I’m by no means overweight but 7st 5lbs was my pre-pregnancy weight and where I feel most comfortable.

@teaandtoastwithmarmite I understand that feeling as well, sometimes i just feel slimmer even if the scales aren’t budging. For me it’s usually down to what I eat rather than how much as I always look slimmer overall if my stomach is less bloated. However recently I have noticed the backs of my knees (very random I know) just feel slimmer, there’s less loose wobble there, and my legs are looking more muscular. Scales say no major loss, but I just know I am building muscle and toning up a bit

Morning
I have had a rotten couple of days with a headache that wouldn't shift but feeling better today
I still weighed myself even though I have been having a lot of carbs and sugar. Must have been eating less overall tho as weight has dropped to 57.6kg this morning.
Hoping to get a nice long walk in today
Happy Saturday everyone 😊

I have a spreadsheet on Google sheets that also then calculates my weekly average and makes a graph. I also log steps, calories, workouts etc on it. I pay a woman £30p/m and she checks the spreadsheet every few days to make sure I'm filling it in and downward trending, and nags me if I'm straying. I'm very all or nothing usually and this seems to have brought me into a balance for the first time.

Yesterday I ate a whole tub of popcorn in the circus.

Today, I've got my food planned. Not much going on this weekend so will do a parkrun and possibly a body balance later, and try for a slow chill day 😎

CrowsInMyGarden · 08/08/2026 07:50

I’m 77kg and would like to initially be 70kg

My son is getting married abroad next June so want to look better for that. I’ve also been feeling a bit rubbish healthwise and thought losing weight might help.

I joined Zoe and was embracing not counting calories and eating more nuts, seeds, Avos and olive oil but I just put on more weight.

Have restarted Slimming World (I got 12 weeks free as work for NHS and have BMI of over 30) and also got a cheaper gym membership as have high cholesterol and gp wanted me to go on statins. I’ve got 6 months to lose some weight/up the cardio so that I wont need them.

Have been enjoying the gym but am looking after 2 grandchildren 2 days a week in school hols so it’s a bit hard finding time to go at the moment.

I am 64 and am 5ft 1

Amayonaising · 08/08/2026 09:06

Weighed in at 56.9 this morning, not sure I can trust that? I've been dropping everyday so maybe I should just embrace it but it seems a bit too good to be true 🤐

Not sure I ate enough yesterday really, I only track calories loosely so might have to keep an eye on that.

Anyway, week 1 ✔️

Sw: 59.6kg
Cw: 56.9kg
Tw: 52kg

I maintained this morning. So still 12st 3.5lbs or 78.1 kg

dazedandblue · 08/08/2026 21:34

This week was so hectic but today I’ve managed to eat healthy and exercise.
”Official” weigh day for me tomorrow - trying not to get too hopeful and as long as the general trend of the week is down, I should be ok.

Droopydroopingdropped · 09/08/2026 07:48

Put a bit of weight back on...d'oh
But expected really
Am going to a birthday party today so will be eating cake
Will get back on the diet tomorrow
Happy Sunday 😊

dazedandblue · 09/08/2026 08:40

I had my weigh in as well

SW: 60kg
CW: 56.7kg
GW: 50-52kg

I was hoping to be more around the 56.5 mark but maybe that is where I'll net out at next week.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Octovent · 09/08/2026 08:53

My weekly average this week is 62.9, down 0.7 from 63.6.

Sw: 65.5
Cw: 62.5
Gw: 58

DogGawn · 09/08/2026 17:24

I’ve done badly this week as it was my daughter’s 26th birthday which involved a lovely meal out and lots and lots of cake (it’s so odd with them getting older! She’s now the age I got pregnant with her!)

Sw 65kg
Cw 62.5kg
Gw 58/59kg

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 09/08/2026 20:07

I went to a football match today so currently in services. Was going to get subway as on plan but closed so eating Burger King!

Octovent · 10/08/2026 08:55

Start of the week - how are we all doing?

I'm going away for four days on Saturday so going to push for a hard and perfect 5 days now before that 👌

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 10/08/2026 19:38

Hi @Octoventok. Took my DD and her friend shopping today. Found myself hungry and in Greggs in Primark feeling miserable over a black coffee. I got a pasta salad for 9 swips so not terrible.

SupernaturalAddict · 10/08/2026 20:37

Well i've lost 3lb this week which sounds good on paper but it's my first week and I was hoping for more due to water etc :-(
SW 12.7
CW 12.4
TW 10.7

I'm sure peri is making it harder for me to lose weight.

dazedandblue · 10/08/2026 21:00

I've felt a bit off today (and yesterday), like my body is fighting something off.
But I don't have any flu symptoms as such. Or maybe it's just the delayed tiredness from last weeks' work week. I clocked almost 60 hours.

I've eaten fairly healthily today but have given in to having 1-2 glasses of wine. No regrets.

I have a big work launch tomorrow and then I will try trot off to the gym once it's all over.

How is everyone else doing?

SmallWhiteFluffyClouds · 11/08/2026 07:24

Well done on everyone who is enjoying losses, big or small!

After going down to 10 st 1 on the scales last Friday I jumped back up and I’m at 10 st 2. I knew this would be a hard bit to get through.

I’ve stuck to fasting until lunchtime and have been trying to make better decisions, but one of my daughters has been doing lots of baking over the holidays and I can’t say no to trying her flapjacks and muffins!

I’m feeling quite motivated though so I’m going to keep at it and work harder to reduce carbs.

Octovent · 11/08/2026 08:35

I'm exhausted today, have a poorly dog who's needed to be let out through the night. I wasnt feeling great yesterday which resulted in me getting lazy - a bowl of muesli in the afternoon came out. I'll do better today, my meals are planned and are all zero effort. Just need to get myself through the day now, bedtime can't come soon enough!

dazedandblue · 11/08/2026 09:08

One thing for me that has been eye opening is portion sizes.
I've been calorie counting to reset my meals a bit and understand them more.

Oh my god, pre calorie counting, what I thought was a healthy not too calorific bowl of yoghurt with some berries, healthy granola and honey... I was easily making a portion size of 600+++ cals.

Now I know what a 200-300 cal portion actually looks like.

Droopydroopingdropped · 11/08/2026 09:20

Well, I am putting weight on now
Went from 57.3kg to 58.4kg
Need a proper plan
The cake has undone everything!
