What size do I look?

I’ve recently (finally) lost 4 stone after having a baby 18 months ago. I’m 5ft 7. What size do I look and any ideas for flattering outfits? I still have a really large chest and bigger thighs so help would be appreciated as I’m really struggling with what to wear.

I'm absolutely not an expert in this as I'm an A cup but I'm always really impressed by what I see of the brand Manners. The do size-inclusive stuff in really strong stretchy material that is designed for big-boobed women to be able to wear bra free.

Something like this might be flattering as it's got a lower neckline to break things up a bit but it's not super revealing.

The prices are a bit higher but they do sales reasonably often so worth signing up for the mailing list.

16 on top 14 bottom and looking fabulous

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 22/05/2026 22:37

I’d say you are between a 14/16.

Tuesdayschild50 · 22/05/2026 22:45

Well done... you look fabulous a curvy 14 .

BrendaSmall · 22/05/2026 23:11

You look similar to me, 18/20 top 16/18 bottom x

LadyGAgain · 22/05/2026 23:15

You’re gorgeous!! A 12? However with your generous boobs it’s not easy to always be in a 12. All ladies with boobs need to embrace showing off some neck skin - v necks are our friend. High necks rarely flatter. You look like you’re in amazing shape too. Flat tummy (well jel) , shapely legs. Get legs out!! Suns out!!

you look gorgeous whatever size you are. Get yourself to a good independent bra shop -not bravissimo! I went to one and apparently I’m a 30D.. not the 38B I had wearing for years. I look so different!

Agree wholeheartedly about finding an independent lingerie store. I used to always go for fittings at Jenners department store here in Edinburgh - since it closed I tried M&S & Bravissimo & found them dreadful, but then went to the little place my mum goes to when I was back in Ireland, & they were brilliant! They have so much experience that they can practically tell what size you will be before they even get a measuring tape out.

Although I agree OP has a lovely figure and just needs to dress to flatter her bust, it is a bit daft to say 12 on top apart from the boobs. The boobs are what determines the size of the top half.

Well yes and no, her shoulders and torso would be a different size to her bust, thats the problem with modern day clothing or things that are off the shelf. And also nothing has bust darts in it these days. I have a lovely shirt which is 'oversized' style but it still gapes at the bust, its so annoying

You look amazing. Well done on the weight loss.

I’m finding this thread really helpful - thank you. I really struggle with how I look, mainly due to my chest size, but I’m also much shorter than you. 5ft2, 8st10, 30G. My BMI is fine but I just look ‘big’ and out of proportion. I’m now wondering if losing a bit of weight might help? I also avoid fitted tops as hate drawing attention to my chest but maybe that’s making me look bigger?

Well done again, @CheeseSandwich1 You really do look great.

Not at all cheeky? a BMI of 21.4 😊 7 stone 7 pounds.

I was told the same when they were trying to offer breast reduction.

This is interesting. (See my post above.) Just doing the reverse maths - I think you are shorter than me (under 5ft)? May I ask what bra size you are now?

eastegg · Yesterday 08:37

Apologies if this isn’t helpful, but for balance can I just make the point that if you had very small breasts everything else would look bigger by comparison. Small breasts make every other lump and bump, whether it’s upper arms, tummy, hips or whatever, proportionately look bigger. Believe me.

So be careful what you wish for. And stop setting so much store by what it says on the label. You’ve had good advice I think from lots of supportive posters and that’s great, although why you didn’t ask ‘how should I dress for this figure?’ or even just ‘make me feel better’ rather than ‘what size do you think it says on my labels?’ I’m afraid I still have absolutely no idea!

Anyway all the best. We’re all so vastly different with different hang ups. I think you have a figure that many would envy for what it’s worth.

I hope this isn’t cheeky but can I ask what BMI you had to get down to before they disappeared?

I woke up one day in my teens with huge boobs 28FF and they’ve just got bigger since!

I went to the breast clinic for an unrelated issue and the doctor who examined me said my boobs were mostly breast tissue and not fat and therefore it’s unlikely they’d get much smaller without surgery? I don’t know how true this is!

I lost over 50lbs on Mounjaro. I was really hoping my boobs would go, but they’ve stayed exactly the same. I’m a 32DD, so not too big, but I’d love the tiny little boobs I had in my 20s. Mine got bigger when I breastfed and stayed at that size. They have at least stayed very pert, so I’m pleased about that. But when the rest of me is very slim, I feel my boobs make me look bigger and limit what looks good.

People with K cups (me too...) cannot wear one shoulder tops.

There isn't a one shoulder bra for us and we generally can't be having them round our knees.

I am a dd but wear a bra with it I just tighten one strap and clip it to the top so its pushed down but still supportive but I get your point. I am still on the hunt for an effective strapless bra for bigger boobs.

I don't agree with this btw op.

You look as though you may size up on the top purely due to bust size, not shoulders, arms, tummy, and you look nothing whatsoever like an 18 on the bottom.

This is a wise post in lots of ways op, and I agree that if you carry weight anywhere, the bust is the most flattering.

It tends to carry better than tummy or hips or bum or thighs ...

The reason I posted was because I’ve struggled a lot with my weight (especially since having children).

I started my weight loss journey at a 34J (34 was tight) and now I’m a 30K-KK and still sometimes in a 16 top. I am quite small framed around my shoulders and back (always having to have tops and dresses altered) so the fact I look a size 16 is really upsetting after all my hard work.

I’ve also been pulled apart a lot in my past relationship to the point I feel like no one will want me, especially because I almost feel like my boobs look freakish. Unfortunately a private breast reduction is out of my price range at the moment and there’s no hope on the NHS really.

Thank you for all your lovely and helpful comments, I really appreciate it.

The type of bra can also make a huge difference - I have a large cup size and wear a M&S underwired balcony bra which pulls them forward rather than sideways and minimises to some extent.

Also with weightloss, the loss can be on thighs first then shoulders then tummy then boobs, or in a different order, so it looks lopsided at first but with good toning exercise as time goes things even out a bit and so (tldr) they might still get smaller, as time goes on.

Really sorry to hear about the relationship thing, that can make a huge difference. You look amazing, so try to build yourself up and get the negativity out of your head!

The method of bra measuring I learned ages ago from MN (if no one else has mentioned it) has been by far the best - to measure tightly underneath and then to bend over to measure the cupsize

i haven’t RTFT but OP you look absolutely gorgeous! I would have said 12 everywhere apart from chest, you look fantastic!

Where do you get them from? I’m in the North West and can’t find any stockists I could go to in-person for a fitting x
