What size do I look?

I’ve recently (finally) lost 4 stone after having a baby 18 months ago. I’m 5ft 7. What size do I look and any ideas for flattering outfits? I still have a really large chest and bigger thighs so help would be appreciated as I’m really struggling with what to wear.

What size do I look?

Well done on the weight loss!

I have found that ordering dresses from the "tall" ranges. I'm 5ft 7in, 38E. Size 12 bottom, 14-16 top. I find the extra length actually gives a bit more room for the bust & fits better.
Be aware that some things with a belt seem to sit about 3 or 4 inches below the armpit, rather than your actual waist. So the "tall" range helps with this.
Wrap tops v neck or lower scoop neck tops. A v neck with angel sleeves (short but loose) can give balance around shoulders & boobs.
Avoid full floaty tops.. Loose, floaty tops make me look like a ship in full sail.

Size gorgeous 💕🔥🔥🔥

Absolutely! Friend has used JL personal shopping service with great results.

Well done on your weight loss.
I'd say you look a size 16. If in fact you're much smaller than that, then you need to think about what style of clothes might suit you best.

Size gorgeous 💕🔥🔥🔥

Yes! Agreed! A gorgeous figure for sure!

Pancakeorcrepe · 22/05/2026 12:16

Stunning figure!
Get your confidence up and have a big try out in a department shop, grab lots of stuff and put it all one.
You are never going to be able to hide the girls so might as well flaunt them. Open necks, fitted waist

7in1Pond · 22/05/2026 12:16

You look fantastic- perfect hourglass. I would guess a 14 but tops may need to be bigger for your boobs- depends on the style.

AreBearsCatholic · 22/05/2026 12:17

I‘m also a K cup and have finally accepted that I can’t buy 95% of the clothes in the shops. You have to stick to a v neck
or low cut top/dress that doesn’t create a monoboob and has a very defined waist. Once you find the shape that works, stick to it and buy things in multiple colours if you have to.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 22/05/2026 12:18

I’ve got a couple of dresses from here (not listed), one is a midi shirt dress in a green floral print, the other is a wrap midi dress in a black floral print. Their sizes are generous. I find with wrap tops I have to be careful and sometimes pin the area together to avoid gaping.

Around a size 16? But the way clothes are cut makes a big difference.
You'd like great in a wrap-around dress or in those trousers and a fitted top with a V neck.

WhataGinormousPITA · 22/05/2026 12:19

Every day's a school day, I had to look up what 'wabs' means 😁. As someone with a large bust I find V-necks, cap sleeves, and half sleeves to be flattering, perhaps a cowl neck as well. You can balance out the larger top half with an a-line skirt, or a dark colour on top and lighter colour or bold pattern on the bottom half.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 22/05/2026 12:20

My best friend is a K cup, she’s lost weight with WLI, but she looked great recently in a black scoop neck vest top. Balanced with a nice pair of jeans or skirt that can look really nice.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 22/05/2026 12:23

A longer top is also more flattering than one that finishes above or on the waist.

awayhay · 22/05/2026 12:26

I would say a size 16.

I think a longer top, or a baggy t shirt that can be tucked in would look nice. The current top kind of cuts you off at the wrong place making you appear bigger (not in a nasty way, I have exactly the same problem).

CountBoscoTheSecondsWife · 22/05/2026 12:26

OP you look bloody gorgeous. Congrats on the baby and the weight loss. I don't have big boobs but would be deffo showing them off if I did. I think a tight midi denim dress with buttons, some left undone at top and bottom, could be stunning with your hourglass figure...tho maybe wouldn't work if you're different sizes on top and bottom. Also v neck summer dresses that come in at the waist and float out.

Tonissister · 22/05/2026 12:28

Congratulations on your weight loss. Your figure looks great.

I agree with PP that there's not much point trying to work out what dress size you are. It varies massively depending on where you shop and what cut and style you choose. Your boobs might cause you to have to size up too much in some styles, which would be far too big around the waistline and also the shoulders. A good fit across the shoulders is crucial to not making you look bigger than you are.

I strongly suggest you look for styles that accentuate your slim waist, as big boobs can give the impression of excess weight across the torso, so choose tops that are fitted under the bust, either with darts or ruching or stretch fabric that springs back into place at your narrowest parts. Wrap-over tops could be a good choice. You could try with a cheap version like this from Land's End and if it works, buy more in a similar cut.

ScotiaLass · 22/05/2026 12:31

I think you look like a size 12-14 but you may need to size up on your top half because of your bigger boobs. You look fantastic though and well done on the weight loss!

ScotiaLass · 22/05/2026 12:36

CheeseSandwich1 · 22/05/2026 09:14

Thank you! I’ll try this too. I struggle as I’m getting into a size 12 bottom everywhere but top it could be anywhere from a size 12-16 (sometimes a 16 wont even go over the boobs!) on top because of my bust which then makes dress shopping especially really hard!

Don't let sizing up to accommodate your boobs get you down! I know what you mean though, because I am a similar size and recently had to try a size 16 in a top that I liked in Next to accommodate my boobs. I was initially a bit gutted about it but decided that I really liked the top and the way it looked on, and that size was just a number! I don't wear a lot of dresses, but the ones I do often come from Fat Face. They often have elasticated waists that cinch in under my chest and emphasise my slimmer waist. They are often very generously sized and I have one in size ten, despite needing 16s elsewhere!

Thanks everyone for your comments!

I started as a 16-18 4 stone ago! Now I’m in 12 bottoms but I’m still sometimes needing a 16-18 top which is heartbreaking 🥲 I think my boobs must be making me look huge still!

It's not heartbreaking. You look good. Remember, nobody's going to stop you in the street and ask to see the label on your clothes. All they'll see is that you look good. Women's sizes are ridiculous at the best of times, and you've done incredibly well losing 4 stone in the past 18 months with a new baby! Be kinder to yourself, please!

SunnySideChaos · 22/05/2026 12:46

Size 16, maybe even 18 on the top, you've done well though to lose all that weight, well done.

KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying · 22/05/2026 12:47

Size 16 is the UK average, it’s sad that you find that heartbreaking. As a fellow member of the big tit club I do find that my chest dictates my clothes size, but it is what it is.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 22/05/2026 12:49

Try tall ranges for tops and mini dresses - the extra length helps with extra boob!

I have big boobs and I find:

  • tall ranges
  • boat neck
  • low square neck
  • shirred tops
  • low scoop neck
  • batwing tops
  • sometimes mens clothes (extra shoulder space translates to boob space and gives extra length whilst staying fitted)

All suit me better than wrap dresses etc. or rather I'm just so not a fan of wrap dresses that I prefer the above.

Sartre · 22/05/2026 12:51

Definitely a 12 on the bottom- people saying 16-18 are nuts! Probably bigger on top because of the boobs, I bet 14-16 purely because of those. It isn’t a bad thing though obviously, you look healthy and great.

You look great though, it's definitely the boobs keeping you up there on top but that's not a bad thing, is it? You look fantastic, well done!
