Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! March 2026. Reset for Radiance⭐️

How was March’s Reset for Radiance for you? Not so radiant here what with an injured shoulder and a stinking virus to contend with 😅 Fingers crossed that April brings more than showers for us all!❤️

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!
Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.

  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.

  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.

  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.

  5. Stay hydrated! 💧

  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.

  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩

  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.

  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!

  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.

After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

I have had a good week food wise as well, been really.trying to focus on whole foods and avoiding the UPF.
I need to read the ultra processed people book mentioned up thread, it sounds very interesting! I am 100% someone who cannot stop once started.

I also went for 2 runs this week and am so pleased with myself after having not run for probably over a year.

Hope WOW goes well for everyone tomorrow

TheWayTheLightFalls · 15/04/2026 05:43

Morning! WoW is 65.9kg here, or 4.1kg under my 70kg goal. I need to check BMI again.

Good luck Wowers!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/04/2026 07:23

There’s also a bbc sounds podcast with the VanT twins which details the whole experiment and it’s much more interesting than the book but basically covers the same material

socks1107 · 15/04/2026 08:13

I’m not going to wow today, been back at it three days feel good but had an early start which often gives me a higher reading so ill
weigh tmrw and pray some of my holiday has come off!

good luck to all of you who do

mermadeincornwall · 15/04/2026 08:14

11st 2 and three quarters lbs
So 2lbs off
Goal 10stone.
Looking forward to dropping back into the 10stone bracket ,its been a while. Carrying this excess weight has been getting me down. I'm feeling upbeat and motivated to keep going till I get there.

Happy WOW everyone

ChunkyMonkey36 · 15/04/2026 08:35

Managed to shift 3lbs this week, thankfully! Half a stone down from my start point 3 weeks ago.

Onward 😂

SW - 234lbs
CW - 227lbs
Lost - 7lbs

LegoTherapy · 15/04/2026 09:19

Morning wowers and well done!
I am stuck at 8st 5lb despite barely eating on these new tablets. It’s ok and probably due to all the banana milk thats keeping me going. My dose is being increased from 30-50mg so that might totally zap my appetite but hopefully not because I’ll feel awful and be burning muscle to get up those big hills. Today is a 12 mile walk day. First week back on the school run and muscles adjusting and probably retaining water. I’ve been building Ikea furniture and wrestling it into place so plenty of exercise going on.

Hope everyone is ok.

This is an interesting one for understanding the food industry as an industry, looking to make money for its shareholders rather than considering the public’s health.

They've also done interesting podcasts on New Year’s Day for the last two years about how to eat healthier in the year ahead. I enjoyed those. And other ones do deep dives into more specific issues. I listen to them while walking and feel doubly virtuous 😂

FridayNighFeeling · 15/04/2026 15:19

Some great results well done everyone. I'm struggling with being really tired and wanting to eat everything but I know this too shall pass.

moondip · 15/04/2026 15:26

Well done to today’s WoWers. I’m weighing tomorrow instead this week. X

biscuitcat · 15/04/2026 15:50

Thank you both for the podcast recommendations!

And happy Wednesday all. I’m pleased with my weigh in this week, and am 1.5lbs down - I’m hoping that reducing my calories has made the difference. I’m now SO close to the 11s, and my goodness I want to see that soon.

SW - 15st10.5
CW - 12st0.5

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/04/2026 18:10

1lb down this week, so happy with that! I go on holiday in 6 weeks so if I could lose another six pounds by then I would be delighted.

CinnamonSweet73 · 15/04/2026 19:40

Well done WOWers!
79.6kg here, down from 80.5 last week (though I think some of that was water weight from the Easter weekend but I'll take it!!!)
Glad to be back in the 70s!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 15/04/2026 20:08

Another podcast that is really good is the Ruth Mac Fit podcast. She’s just quite a likeable host and it’s a nice easy listen about making good choices and habits.

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 15/04/2026 21:32

Hello everyone,
I've really struggled over Easter with chocolate everywhere and fewer opportunities to go out for fitness (runs cycle etc) cos of kids being at home.

However I have been pretty good today (only ate home cooked, non UPF foods - except for a chocolate covered rice cake I was trying to use up!) and trying my best. Haven't gorged on chocolate.
Ate mainly fruit if I wanted a sweet thing.
Had a nearly 3 mile walk and cycled the school run instead of the car.

Little steps.

My weak spot is evening temptations, either a glass of something, or eating after 8. I had a rule for several months about not eating after 8pm which helped but March and April have not been good.
Definitely going to stick to that as it does help me to think of some limits and rules.

LemonDrizzle23 · 16/04/2026 07:09

@thenewaveragebear1983 thanks for the podcast recommendation, I’ve added her to my list to listen to.

@@DontBuyANewMumCashmere the long schools holidays always stall me too. Less chance for exercise and more packed lunches on days out. Even if I avoid the treats and ice creams, all the sandwiches seem to add up!

Talking of which, two days back into routine and the scales are heading down again, so I’m guessing the extra weight was just…. Temporary bread weight??? Will WOW properly next week - well done to everyone stepping on the scales yesterday!

socks1107 · 16/04/2026 08:08

I finished my three weeks at maintenance at the weekend, thinking that would break the 7 week stall.
back to a deficit and within 24 hours my chronic constipation is back and I’ve put on a 1lb.

where do I even try and go from here?

moondip · 16/04/2026 09:08

Morning. I’m weighing today as I didn’t yesterday. Somehow the scales are being kind to me despite eating my feelings over the weekend. I think being sick obviously “helped” in that regard.

SW: 102.1kg
CW: 89.4kg
GW: 80kg

Bourneo · 16/04/2026 19:35

Hey everyone, been a really busy week, so forgot to wow. Had some shitty news in work today. A promotion that i was promised I could do is now going to be externally advertised. Was initially told (promised) I could do it for a year, before an internal advert for permanent position. 😢

Called in shop on way home for milk and resisted the junk! I did get wine which I'm currently half way through though!

But my plan was no milk chocolate, no biscuits, so.... wine is free game! Right??

thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/04/2026 07:07

What a week, I will be glad at 5pm tonight when I log off. I’ve had really good meals this week due to good prepping on Sunday for my breakfasts and lunches, and I’m going to do the same this week even though I’m wfh as it just cuts out the thinking. This time I’m going to baked baked oats bars for breakfasts and a different salad for lunches, maybe with feta cheese rather than chicken.

I’ve done a lot of miles as well, although no gym classes yet although I am booked on tonight’s. I did a little home workout on my arms and core yesterday but I was tired and my heart wasn’t really in it.

disappointingly I don’t think I’ve lost anything in the scales this week, maybe I’ve even gained. My weight which before Easter was down to 10.13 is 11.6 yesterday and it’s not budging at all this week. My period is late and I feel bloated and heavy so it’s probably that. But it’s still very demotivating. I lose weight very slowly so a few pounds gain like at Easter can take me months to get off.

still, onwards. Tonight we’re having seasoned chicken and salad, I have already told dh I DO NOT Want wine

Pasta4Dinner · 17/04/2026 13:26

Half way through April and I have still not lost any weight this year. I have been going hard on increasing my weights.
I was on 2k calories because that was one of the guidelines I was following. But I’ve dropped it to 1500.
i go to the gym 3x and 2 classes a week.
Middle age is so hard!

ChunkyMonkey36 · 17/04/2026 16:07

I think I’ve finally changed my ability to recognise “full.”

Stupidly waited until the food shopping came to eat today, despite having options available, so when it came to food time I had a much larger lunch than I have the last few weeks.

My word am I uncomfortable, lesson learned 😂

socks1107 · 18/04/2026 09:43

Moving all, I’m suddenly down 2.5lbs since Thursday! Back in the 10s.
So now got 8lbs to go… by July 12th. Have a great weekend everyone

LemonDrizzle23 · 18/04/2026 15:39

Beautiful weather here this weekend! I have been out in my garden despairing of where all the weeds have suddenly arrived from though - Im sure they weren’t there last week!

DH has been working unexpectedly so I think I might take DS out to get some steps in. We have a 3km route that goes through a playground as well. We’ve done it a few times now and he chats such nonsense all the way round 😂 but it’s actually kind of lovely.

TheGirlWhoLived · 18/04/2026 18:14

Ah i’m late to the party but just stumbled across this thread! Had a really good week and lost 1lb 🤦🏼‍♀️ but that’s after gaining a little over the Easter school holidays, mostly through stress eating and wine. Really got back into the gym workouts this week, and managed a good long walk so hoping to see a bigger loss this Wednesday!!

SW- 16st 7lb
CW- 15st 6lb
GW not entirely sure. I’m 5”2 but a size 16-18 at my current weight. I’d like to be a 10-12, maybe 10st 7lb?
